I was a combat medic in the Army and went through extensive trauma that caused severe PTSD. I had been married to my husband and never talked about what I had experienced. I didn't know how to handle the rapid series of extreme emotions I was experiencing. My PTSD caused me to change in more than one way and it wasn't for the better. I finally told him what I had been through and experienced after being married 7 years. In those 7 years I caused him pain because I didn't know how to handle my pain. His love, compassion, understanding and support never waivered. How he was able to handle the pain was beyond me. After I told him, I started seeking outside help and began to process everything. It was the turning point in our marriage. I found a reason for me to change, it was because of him. We've been married 20 years. We have 5 children (18, 16, 16, 14 & 8) I wouldn't be the better me if it wasn't for his love and patience. This song says everything........to say the least. Your cover of this is great song is the best I've heard

I was 13 in fact had emergency surgery the day the album hit the shelf’s and my dad had got me the album right when I got out of the hospital. Damn good song has a deeper meaning to me now I’m older and have experienced life.
