- In this weeks video I continue my solo narrowboat journey on the Shropshire Union Canal leaving Nantwich and heading towards Hack Green. I get help on the locks so I don't have to single hand them which is always a bonus and even better when the help is from a lady who runs a narrowboat training course - Cheshire Cat Training cheshirecattra...
While moored at Hack Green nestled in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, I head off to meet my family and explore The Secret Nuclear Bunker.

I don’t know how I’ve missed this episode, but it was adorable with your nephews. May the wind up at you from the stern.
Late again but I was out with a mate of mine, nice chap an expat like me but from Austria, so what's up this week Heidi darlin. Ah yes domestic chores just like me, make the beds shower and change, Check the fridge plan our supper. Cottage pie with frozen peas. Next laundry, two sweaters to hand wash, clean the kitchen floor prepare the Pie ready for the oven.To the Pharmacy to pick up 2 prescriptions which I'd phoned in earlier, picked up a readymade fruit salad. After lunch two boiled eggsT with Sourgh dough fingers. Thenhen sweeping up leaves from the lawns with my tractor and sweeper then piling then in the compost bins. house husband's work is never done *lol* but I didn't have any locks to contend with.
Yet another nice vlog Heidi.I know how long it takes to edit these vlogs I'd need much more than a tot of Rum. I saw you racing past "Forget me not" going like the clappers with the lovely old Petter doing its thing in style, do we have o call you "Speedy gone Heidi" from now on, did you give the diesel tank a shot of Rum to achieve that speed.
So pet happy cruising, stay safe and equally as important stay the same as you are coz you're very special.

Do you plan to stay in a marina if seriously bad weather happens ?
The mooring times are extended in winter months but essential supplies are needed obviously.
A fuel boat route seems a cunning plan.

Ahoy David, I love the cut in winter … I’ll still be continuously cruising, I just need to plan in advance of big storms and make sure I’m not under any trees 😂

remember going in a SB in Scotland which was still operational as had several RAF workers there... an amazing place....the whole place was disguised as a farm with outbuildings...

😂😂 oh it’s lovely hearing the boat go passed or putting it on for 10 mins but after 6 hrs at the helm you go deaf 😂
What a great idea adding the mouse hunt to the place as a way to engage kids (and big kids). I know that I’d really like looking for them.

That was fun Heidi!! I love travelling with you and watching you live your life aboard your narrowboat. I am an elderly person with poor health and won't ever be able to do these things in real life but I can ride along with you and see the sights. You do a wonderful job as a host on your boat. I hope you get lots of trading done before the winter so you have a nice bit of savings so you can relax and not worry over money. I am also very happy to see you getting to spend time with your Mum and nephews. The only thing that really matters these days is family ... whether the person is a blood related person or someone you have added into your family. Here's an ARRGH!!! to you.

To a point however diesel gas and coal and gone up plus our license fees …. People with houses get a cost of living crisis payment and support - people on boats don’t …. However I know where I would rather be 😃❤️🏴☠️

Lovely... I have a question hun. I'm sure you have seen a lot of stuff on the canals, but have you ever seen anyone slip on those slimey ladder rungs at the locks?
Ahoy, not on the ladders I haven’t but the top of the locks can be very slippy ….. a friend of mine slipped on the locks once and fell in, luckily they didn’t land on the boat … it’s like anything, just be careful 😄🏴☠️

have you ever gone through the iron lock with no help thats the lock near chas hardin boat hire
Yes I’ve been through many times … I’ve never gone down without help though but I’ve single handed going up … there are no ladders on the lock so I had to drag the boat in …. Every time I’ve gone down there is usually a boat coming the other way so they help 😀 lucky eh
George is in my school and he’s my friend :O
