    Putting the inner tent in a plastic bag us genious 🤯 lol. Why didnt i think of that. Did you not feel the need to take a duvet jacket of any kind?

    Thanks for all the info, really useful. I made a comment about the usefulness of the soloist groundsheet in the main video. I have to agree about the front porch being a faff. I guess it's an acceptable compromise for the price and weight, but it does make it more difficult to love!

    • @KeepSmilingAdventures
      @KeepSmilingAdventures  2 роки тому

      yeah for the price it really is a great bit of kit, the pack size is pretty damn good as well, the front door situation is made worse for me being 6ft 6. I think if you don't want to spend a lot of money and only go on trips every now and again it pretty good. I spend quite a bit of time camping and outdoors so it did start to annoy me a bit.
      Yeah when i bought it i thought i ordered the ground sheet but apparently i didn't, and then the price was different when i went to order it so i didn't bother.
      I did make a final thoughts/ how its held up video if you are interested ua-cam.com/video/n9GKHSf805E/v-deo.html

    Put some wax onto your zips! Works with framepacks and even rainjackets etc. You need to rewax (just try a simple candle) from time to time but works like a charm.

    Thanks for the videos 💪

    the lighter trick will cure the by burning off the solvent i thing normally it slowly evaporates before you put the patch on, its why you should let the glue sit on the tube before you stick the patch. i hate to be that guy but just wait for the glue to half set then put the patch on then it will stick like shit. when you burn the solvent off you effectively cure the glue super fast, burn it to long your going to have a right ball ache 😅

    Thx for the vid, worrying that a zip could let in that much water! Tent wise I'm enjoying the dan durstan x-mid 1p - supposedly good for tall people tho being 5, 6 I wouldn't know. not sure gettable it is post brexit mind.
    Roughly what do you think the bike and gear weighed full loaded with food etc?

    Could you use Silicone grease on the zippers and other parts you need to weatherproof on the bag? I use it on my hiking gear, and silicone grease is also food grade, so safe to use. It's worth a try, and it's pretty cheap stuff.

      @@KeepSmilingAdventures sorry, I should’ve been more clearer. You said I want if you’re early videos (Southdown way ride) by the end of it you were looking for more comfort. I do not want to waste my money buying the wrong Bike. From your experience would you still purchased the titanium Camino now?

      @@robertmerry1693 ahh got you, yeah i personally would buy it again. It all depends on the ride that i am doing whether I choose the sonder or the bomb track really. I also will use the sonder for road trips as well as any commuting i may need to do. the bomtrack will pretty much be exclusively used for bikepacking.

    i take it youve had bad experiences with panniers... my bike has capabilities for a pannier and i thought it best solution to carrying bulky items, whats your experience with them, how bad are they off road and i notice alot of the time you use the bombtrack bike, its full rigid, whats the ride quality like off road are you limited much on decents ect id imagine itds good on the climbs just any advice is helpful keep up the good work i like your adventures mate

    I see you've been using that Chrome sling a fair bit - is it still just carrying your drone? How are you getting on with it?

    • @KeepSmilingAdventures
      @KeepSmilingAdventures  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah still use it for the drone. It’s pretty good it’s not fully waterproof though. I do find that when I’m on the gravel bike it moves a bit to much because of the position though. On a mtb I don’t really notice it though.

    • @TimFromWales
      @TimFromWales 2 роки тому +1

      @@KeepSmilingAdventures Cool. I have a bit of a bag addiction and like the idea of a sling.
      On my Dorset weekend I had my Evoc 16L on my back with my lunch, spares etc etc for a big day out and on my waist I used a 2L Dakine waist pack, around the front with my Canon M50 in. It wasnt perfect, but for the most part I got used to carrying it there and it meant the camera was readily available for the 4 photos I took in 2 days LOL

    • @KeepSmilingAdventures
      @KeepSmilingAdventures  2 роки тому

      Aha nice I’d like not to have to carry it but the spark doesn’t fit anywhere else and I can’t afford the mini. I was looking at the waist packs myself, they just look a bit more comfortable. You reckon a dji spark would fit in one ?

    • @TimFromWales
      @TimFromWales 2 роки тому

      @@KeepSmilingAdventures Spark is an odd shape, I'm not sure you'll get it in much smaller than the sling bag tbh. Maybe a small backpack? I did carry mine strapped to the outside of small 8L Dakine Session once but its exposed and not safe tbh.
      Did yours come with the messenger bag style case? THis is quite compact but you still need to mount it to the bike or hang it over your sholder.

      @@olivierklarenbeek6051 FWIW I'm not sure if you've done the GNT yet, but I'm doing it this August. However, I'm starting my ride at Anvil Point Lighthouse near Swanage and riding about 400 km to the start of the GNT at Middleton Top. Not sure if you've used Komoot, but it did what looks to be a great job plotting a route for me. All I had to do was tell it that I want to ride MTB trails and it does its best to find off road trails and byways to make that happen. And once it plots the route, you can then tweak it as you see fit, especially based on the community provided images and information. And it even does a nice job plotting daily itinerary segments based on how many days you want to ride. Again, all of it is modifiable as you see fit.
