Hello. Thank you for general information. Is it true, that person must be vaccinated in 3 jabs before to get government insurance contract? Thank you. Is it true
Hi Patty, Woody here. I just retired on Social Security and am searching for a suitable, budget friendly country to get residence. I really like the green that surrounds your house and that the temperature is mild and not oppressively hot, but I primarilly need infrastructure to get to food at a reasonable variety of low cost cafes, restaurants and grocery stores. Also high on priority is ease of public transportation since I will not have a car yet. To sum it all up, I am asking your opinion for where you think is a good city, or town for a "soft landing" (though it may be hot) there in Panama, for a start, to get my feet on the ground? I appreciate any recommendation you can give me.
First, have you looked into the types of residency visas and talked with an attorney and have an idea of the expenses? Second, I’d suggest visiting a few different provinces/mountain/beach areas. The only way you’ll know what’s right for you is to have the experience of being here. You may decide you like a small town and take a 30 minute bus to a larger shopping area. Or you might decide you like a city, or the heat at the beach is tolerable. You’d want to stay out of heavily expat populated areas for more affordability.
That’s Portobelo on the Caribbean side. You can take a 10 minute boat trip to Isla Grande past Portobelo. Nice area to explore. Trash there is an issue, but there are efforts being made 🙏
@@roseother8306 There are much more affordable places in Panama. El Valle is pricey due to a limited geographical area and that many wealthy Panamanians have weekend estates here.
Good day. My wife is a licensed counselor in Texas. She would be interested in speaking with you about coaching in Panama as we hope to retire there in the future.
Hi , great video!! Im also a garden lover and plan to visit El Valle for a possible home. I'm wondering do you have a lot of huge spiders or scorpions? They are scary but I'm willing to deal with it to live in this beautiful country!! Best wishes!!
Yes, spiders - but I like to have them in the garden. I like the orb weavers. I have not seen a scorpion in my house! But they are here. Snakes are here - those freak me out. But I’m going to finally get to the Serpentario to learn about them. You will LOVE the plants, birds, flowers 😊
Great information 👍🏾 Just a little correction. Most of the Chinese Immigrants came to build the Transatlantic Railroad during the California Gold Rush, and the French intent to construct the Canal. The Black Slaves that came with the European (mostly with the Spanish) is correct. Later you have the Blacks immigrants from the Caribbean countries and nations (West Indies) hired by the US for the Panama Canal Construction. And you are so right, Panama is a beautiful melting pot❤
Thank you for the information. I can't wait to visit Panama again. This time for a lengthy stay. I always felt Pamama has a great atmosphere smell also. Very unique.

The worst idea is to choose the Wingo airport. The bridge to the city is at noon blocked, and the 2+2 lanes are all only open for the East direction. I have friends who use Wingo regularly. A NIGHTMARE to pick them up. You must use the only bridge open to the city, driving into the city (close by) turn around and drive back. With afternoon traffic, this adds 3-5 hours driving time to the airport. I’m sure that did cost me a lot of hair to agree to pick them up. And I always forgetting about the closures in the afternoon. I promise to pick them up and then…. OHHHH NOOO. Not that airport again! 😅 Stability in Politics???? There isn’t one party in Panama who got re-elected! Panamanians blame every politician to be corrupt! But every Panamanian is corrupt too! “If you pay cash…. It would be cheaper….” Nobody likes to do business correctly. Imagine one thing: Teachers blocking the only highway in Panama. For months! Not days! In every teachers contract is written that they lose their jobs if they demonstrate in work hours. Guess what? The teachers Union gives a fxxx about the contract! On top, demand payments as usual. And the ministry is paying. Now tell me. Who has the right to call politicians corrupt? The whole population of Panama is corrupt!

And of course, it depends on specific locations within Panama, such as coastal areas versus higher elevations like those found in the interior or mountain regions.
@beachgirl I couldn’t find your comment, the link is in the video description, too 😊 I have monthly rates. www.airbnb.com/h/casadebambuyluna
You have an air B&b? Awesome. Too expensive for me but a great thing for you.
@@anniesshenanigans3815 There are options for all budgets here in El Valle. I featured some of them on a video 😊
Hi Patty, just watched your 7 reasons you love living in Panama. Very inspiring. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Hey Chica. Great info thank you. Looking forward to discovering more hikes and waterfalls soon. 🎉Renée El Valle.
@@realestate-costarica Yes! Dodging raindrops 😆💦
Very informative video, I really enjoyed it!!
So glad, thank you 😊
Your house looks amazing , very artistic . High ceilings I'm sure help with the heat .
I was also in the Northridge Quake of `94 and Sylmar `71 . small world .
Thanks for all the positive info .
Thanks for the compliments! Having a second story really helps keep the first floor cool. And the thermopanel roof is amazing. Did you leave CA or still there? Northridge was traumatizing - we get small quakes here and I’m really on edge 😥
@@Pattybluehayes I moved to Northern New Mexico 18 yrs ago . Zero earthquakes here and very few Natural disasters . temps are from 0 in winter to 100 in summer . but I have an Adobe with high ceilings . glad to be out of the Valley - overpriced and too crowded now .

I love your videos. I have been in Panama close to 3 years and I agree with everything you said.
Thank you 🙏 Nice to know you feel the same - what part of Panama are you in?
@@Pattybluehayes I started out in Nueva Gorgona, then San Carlos, then El Rompio and I am now in Las Tablas area while building a house nearby. I love El Valle and I am happy that you found your happy place.
@@cooleesha Glad you found your spot. Brave of you to build 😆🙏🌟
Hello Patty, I've just discovered you and subscribed! Enjoyed your video. I'm trying to learn as much as possible about Panama as I would like to move there in the not too distant future to retire. I'm not sure how I would do living around giant spiders and snakes so will try to find locations with less of those to deal with. Looking forward to watching more of your videos! Thank you!!
Thanks for subscribing. Condos would be the best option to not deal with insects. And the only huge spider I’ve seen was an orb weaver which is harmless.
Hello. How is the english proficiency in Panama. I absolutely plan on learning the language, but can I get by in the meantime with english?
It depends on where you are. There’s more English spoken in the city. I use Google translate and a voice app called Say Hi. I try to read the translation to practice pronouncing the words but sometimes I show the person the translation or use that speaking app.
May I ask what the humidity and temp. in El Valle is?-and YES, you are so calm and relaxed in your presentations that I never feel one ouncee of untruthfulness-very insightful👍🙏🏻❤🐎
Very humid in rainy season, less in dry season. Temps range mid 70’s to occasional 90’s but typically in the 80’s.
I sleep with a blanket on and don’t use AC. I’ve used the AC to muffle party noise 😆
Thanks!
Viva Panama!!
Yes! Curious how the election results will go 🙏
Patty, wonderful video!
Thanks!!
Hi Patti. I’ve always enjoyed watching your channel, it’s nice to see things working out for you. I’m curious now that you have your own very nice property, do you host people, sort of like air b and b? Thx
Yes, the Air bnb link is in the video description :-)
Lots of blacks from the Caribbean islands come over to build the canals.
Yes! Sadly, the area of Colon where many Afro-Caribbean people live, has not had much government resources 😞
The Spanish Conquistadors also brought over people from Africa.
Hello.
Thank you for general information.
Is it true, that person must be vaccinated in 3 jabs before to get government insurance contract?
Thank you.
Is it true
I’m sorry, I don’t know. Perhaps a health insurance company can answer.
Panama’. No PAnama. We can learn to pronounce it correctly and learn Spanish at the same time. I like your channel.

I can understand why you would want to move to Panama. ❤
YES 🕊🌺🦋🌈💦🌴🌙
Love your content, PBH. been a long-time follower. What video editing software do you use?
Thank you so much! I use iMovie on my laptop. You create videos? What systems do you use?
@@Pattybluehayes Not yet. I'm thinking of starting to do that. Thank you.
I like it. Where do you live, which city. I am planning to move there too. I want to live at least an hour from panama city. What do you think?
I'm 2.5 hours from Panama City, in the mountains - El Valle. Visit and see if you like the beach or mountains or maybe you'll like the city.
@Pattybluehayes El Valle is it nice. What's the night life. Is it the same weather like boquete, let me know. Can you see the ocean from the mountain
@@nickgeoff2013 it’s a quiet mountain town - nightlife on occasion, weekends. I think Boquete is cooler. No ocean views because we are in a valley.
Nice video
@@ProdSangreNueva Thanks🙌
Great video!!!!! Can u tell me what town I am seeing at the 2:10 mark? It looks awesome!
That’s Portobelo on the Caribbean side. You can take a 10 minute boat trip to Isla Grande past Portobelo. Nice area to explore.
Trash there is an issue, but there are efforts being made 🙏
Thanks for your videos. They are of help. Do you think one can still find good value property in and around El Valle de Anton?
Yes there's always good value property to be found.
It depends on the budget. There's a lot $400k and up and of course land is available.
$400k and above in a small town in Panama? That's not everyone's budget! Good luck to you.
@@roseother8306 There are much more affordable places in Panama. El Valle is pricey due to a limited geographical area and that many wealthy Panamanians have weekend estates here.
Great job. Hang in there. I subscribed.

Thanks but it’s at an awkward length already 😆 But I can fit it in a ponytail at least.
Great information 👍🏾
Just a little correction.
Thanks for the correction! History was not my strength 😞
Thank you for the information. I can't wait to visit Panama again. This time for a lengthy stay. I always felt Pamama has a great atmosphere smell also. Very unique.

The Panama Canal was buil tmainly by the Caribbean people from Jamaica, Barbados and ther Afro- Carribean Islands. This is part of the rich history of the country. Puerto Rico also assisted with the effort. Enjoy the country and continue to learn about the history.
Thank you for the history 🙏 I’m in awe every time I drive over the canal. People sacrificed their lives in that feat.
Wonder if Panama high rises are built with earthquakes in mind?
I would assume so. And hope so! Also, the ground gets so saturated with water - I hope that’s been factored in, too 🙏
Do you see a lot of tropical birds and monkeys in Panama?
@@camerandalili7489 Yes - here in El Valle there are many species. I see toucans, tanagers, woodrails, oropendolas, chacalacas and many hummingbirds. A few weeks ago there were monkeys outside my bedroom window!
Where do you live in Panama?
In El Valle de Anton - mountains, it’s a bit cooler.
@@PattybluehayesThank you. I would like to visit to consider retirement 😊
The only thing Panama needs is to provide more employment for the citizens of the country. Otherwise than that it doesn't need any more development. We love it just as it is. I don't know what you meant when you said it has potential for more development???
I think I was referring to infrastructure, National projects and green initiatives - things like that. Certainly no more condos 😊
Oh my gosh 😮 That is so stressful. Throw in the vendor-in-the-road obstacle course, construction, potholes and dogs - and that’s a wrap.
So yo know. Greetings from Nueva Gorgona. And thank you. I wouldn’t like to live in El Valle even if someone offers me money. The road to go there is destroying every car!
Keep improving your Spanish. It WILL pay off.
Yes!!
Ah, another immigrant... great
