I've heard quite a few interesting theories so far, let me know if you think it's either Hraesvelgr, One of the 3 roosters signalling Ragnarok, Hugin or Munin the ravens of Odin or perhaps another shape shifting deity.
Mythology & Fiction Explained Helheim's soot-red rooster who has no name crows to alert the dishonorable dead of Ragnarok, Fjalar the Crimosn rooster crows in Jotunheim alerting the giants of Ragnarok, and the last Gullinkambi the golden rooster crows in Asgard alerting Jerkface McOneeye of Ragnarok.
I also thought it was one of the three roosters that Crow right before Ragnarok begins. But when I got up close to it it doesn't really look like a rooster so now I'm not sure LOL
Cory Barlog said there will be no DLC because when he grew up he bought a game, went home and played the whole game. He doesn't like the fact of micro transactions or not having a full game at all So the next God of War will be another full game to continue off this masterpiece
There was an idea for DLC, but Barlog scrapped it because it was "too ambitious". He wanted a DLC that would be equivalent in length to the Uncharted spinoff "Lost Legacy" but it was too big of a DLC to do for a game.
I thought it was very weird that nobody mentioned the bird when we got so close to it with the boat. Normally Atreus would have said something or atleast Mimir. It didnt make any sense that they completely ignored it.
RedEye I think they were busy trying to keep the fire going and fighing the ice dudes. P.s: That bird is so damn cool I just stand there staring at it, next to the dead gate keeper.
Yeah but there was a moment with no enemies after the harpunes hit the boat the second time. That was also the closest we got to the bird, he was like almost in axe throw range. And yes, this thing is super cool looking. I hope we get more information on it when the next GoW game comes out.
Old thread but I believe that bird was supposed to be the beast's heart you collect for healing Atreus when he gets sick. There is a video of Cory taking about what he wished he would go back and change in the game and he mentions cutting alot of stuff/bosses while talking about the eagle in Helheim.
Carloss Noah NO. I highly doubt the plan was that we would fight anything besides trolls and draugr. Halfway through the game I realised in terms of epic boss fights that wasn't going to be the case.
isnt it incredible how thoroughly the writers researched the source material? that giant bird is such an obscure charcter and the fact that its shown in the game really shows that the developers did their homework
I remember my first playthrough and the bird gave me the same feeling you get when you look down a tall a building. It's just very eerie. Somehow captured what horror games don't anymore.
If that is that giant then it's pretty cool that they put something so less known and so trivial in the game in such a way. Little details like that impress me for some reason.
at one point towards the end of the game, didn't the giants say that there were two giants left behind in Midgard, the World Serpent and the Guardian? I wonder if that giant eagle is the Guardian. Edit: well, not exactly Midgard, but they were left behind when the giants closed the gates to Jotunheim
no because the two giants referred to was the World Serpeant and Artreus (Loki) as Artreus is a giant. but good thinking. i too wonder what the giant eagle is
You were spot on about the name etc because in GoW Ragnarok Atreus calls the bird by its name. Very well done, considering you called it 4 years before the game!
That bird and the first time Jormugander(yes I know I spelled it wrong, I'm dumb) have me goosebumps and slightly rattled my nerves. Just something unsettling about ginormous creatures I guess
When i first saw it just perched there i was in awe of how unique and visually well done it was. It's very effective to the point that it made me feel some sort of fear.
Have you noticed how it starts flap his wings furiously when kratos and atreus fliest past main gate where you fought gatekeeper, just before when leaving helheim? Wonder whats the deal behind there, my thoughts is he' s responsible to stop for those who tries to escape helheim. Or he' ll gets punished for his breach of duty?
random guy who got this video suggested, the fact you kept it short when any other youtuber would have made atleast a 10 min video rambling about random stuff is what made me sub. keep up the good work
Bro, I didn't even see the bird flying next to the boat💀 I was so focused on trying to see what shit I have to do on the boat - fighting off the monsters and pulling them big spikes off the edges💀💀💀
When you get up close to it you can see the feathers on it's neck sort of come together to make a crest or crown it made me think of an osprey eagle that also made me think of zues. I know zues wasn't an osprey but I thought I'd add something to the discussion.
when I first saw it I looked at it for a good 3 minutes even later on when you get close to it it doesn't seem to be fazed by you. however i don't know if this is a glitch but right before you escape helheim on board the air ship right before you go under the tunnel if you turn around the bird will have its wings spread up wide but the camera quickly turn back for the cutscene. I heard the bird is a sign of ragnorak and that there are 2 others like it mabey a future boss fight?? in god of war 5?
Pretty sure I read somewhere that each bird controls one main element of nature between all the realms. It's only after baldur is killed, it starts snowing, that each one of the three starts to scream, signalling the beginning of Ragnarok
It nerved me like crazy when I first saw it. It was my 'oh shit' moment where I was pending my immediate death if I was to fight it. And even though I encountered it a few more times it still made me tense. In retrospective, if it was the intention from the developers, good job.
The whole time i was there i was legit freaking out. The way it just stands there looking at you. Barely moving a muscle. And then when you got up close to it. Holy shit. This isn’t a horror game but it sure as hell freaked me out more than any horror game has done in a while.
I would love a video on the elves and Alfheim. I know a lot about elves from fantasy stories and such but i have never been able to get a clear picture of the elves's role in norse mythology or even an individual name of an elf
I don't think any of Alfheim's elves were named in Norse mythology. I interpreted the bird on my play through as Zeus, honestly. Since it was in helheim I presumed it was a foreshadowing to an encounter, which almost happened. But I’m also not very knowledgeable about Norse mythology.
when the new god of war game comes out ( aka god of war ragnarok ) i hope we can try to get more information about what the giant bird is or who it might be
I havent heard anyone mention that back in the older games when Kratos was on the way to kill the sisters of fate there was giant eagle statues where kratos killed those priests. Zeus was already shown in the same level, so it could be related that way as well.
Pyramid Head Not Magni tbh he was a bit of a brat but was down for a good fight but the minute Magni died Modi was the one started acting like a pussy always running away and trying to surprise attack Kratos
In my research, there was a bird with a large wingspan that flew to a cemetery in Peoria. I also recall a second-story about a very large bird in a cemetery in Mexico. There is a third story, I am saving for my book if I ever get it finished.
My biggest question is who blew the horn that called the World serpent when Kratos is using the elevator to freyas house It can’t be Baldur because he attacked the serpent later on in the game , and asgardians don’t usually talk to creatures that Thor was supposed to kill , could it have been an adult Loki traveling in time ?
FarTooManyPizzasForYou the only individual who could speak to the serpent is mirmir it wouldn’t make sense why 2 asgardians would attempt to talk to the World serpent when it has been an enemy of Thor
Also explain to me please a) how did kratos survive his own attack at the end of gow3 b) where is the blade of olympus c) what is the deal with blades of chaos then blades of athena then blades of the exile and then blades of chaos again.
cmiiw, kratos got cursed when he stabbed himself with blade of olympus to be immortal.. and continue his life.. b) i dont know maybe taken by athena c) thats something that i dont know to answer, well i enjoyed still..
A) Plot armour B) I think when Kratos stabbed himself with the sword , he released his hope power + the power inside the blade. Thats why it didnt glow anymore. C) I think Gow 4 wants us to believe , that Kratos only had the Blades of Chaos the whole franchise. Remember the illusion where Kratos killed Zeus in Hel? When you look closely to his blades he threw into the ground , you see that it were the blades of chaos.
@@pokerface9432 Kratos is cursed by the Olympian God's to not be able to kill himself. He cannot die by his own hands. B) The sword lost its power since its original creator Zeus is dea and by stabbing himself with it Kratos released the power of hope within him to the people C) Ares took back the Blades of Chaos from Kratos in GOW 1 but after becoming the god of war, Kratos had acces to all the weapons of ares including the blades of chaos. He kept them but he no longer used them since those are a remained of his terrible past deeds. But he can't be rid of them. The Olympian gods put a curse in the blades. If Kratos tries to get rid of them they will always return to him. He tried to throw them off a mountain but a strong wind brings them back at his feet. He threw them away in the ocean, but the ocean rejected them, and it triggered a storm that destroyed his boat. When he recovers the blades are back.
When I first saw it, I wondered if it had a connection to the large bird in God of War II; the one in the distance behind the phoenix on the way to the Sisters of Fate.
They explain it in game by saying that Frigg was invented by Odin as a way to belittle Freya's accomplishments. This actually lines up quite well with the actual mythology In which the two are essentially interchangeable.
I know, that's the reason this video would be so interesting, because it's not the same, GOW differs, there are something else to compare and contrast with. Which would overall be a fun comparison and analysis.
Frigg was Odin's wife nickname to Freya. Like saying "hunny" or "darling" or "love" so when they married, he had referenced her as Frigg. This made anything Freya did was Frigg's glory.
There are actually 3 of these birds, one in Helheim, Asgard, and one in Jotunheim. When Ragnarok starts after the death of Baldur, the birds will crow to alert the dead, the gods, and the giants of Ragnarok beginning.
Though considering Garm is Hel's watchdog, it may actually become an ally just like the World Serpent. Hel isn't going to attack someone who's allied with her brother. SPOILER Especially when that ally is her own father. But Hel and Fenrir haven't been born yet (and Jormungand traveled back in time), so it's possible even Garm might not exist yet. I mean, who ruled Hel before Hel?
Norse mythology doesn't have demons or satan, I think. ...Hel might not actually have had a ruler before Hel, or then Hraesvelgr was the original leader and he just got driven off when Hel showed up.
Why did artaeus seem so sure that he didn't kill modi when he saw a vision of himself doing so in helhiem? And when artaeus fell sick. You hear the giant horn being blown and Mimir mentions "someone's calling the world serpent" but it's never mentioned again. Who was that? Please do a theory on those
I've read some good theories that it might be Atreus and Kratos from the future telling the world serpent to let them in his stomach. That's why it seemed so easily in the game for it to let them enter in it's stomach. Or it could be just Baldur or someone else for whatever reason but I think it will be shown in the next game. The developers set up a lot of stuff for people to speculate and theory about, which is so amazing.
Can you please do a video on 'seventh sons' and the origin of those stories (like, 'a seventh son of a seventh son can see ghosts' or 'seventh sons are wizards, etc.)
Tried looking up for something similar to them myself and the closest thing I can see them being compared to is a magus, not so much a traveller or "spook" as we would see them but since the term means something akin to a ghost or spectre it's difficult to track down. British myths are mixes of lots of different cultures but if I would say look anywhere it would be towards Celtic and elizabethan sources such as Macbeth. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
We all know by now that this bird is actually my ex wife. Whenever id step into my house when we were together, she'd squawk at me and fly around if I didn't feed her
It could very easily be Odin. It looked like one eye was missing. And you do go around killing a lot of his ravens. Maybe it's Odin checking up on you in Helhiem.
I agree if definitely could be Odin as it does resemble a Raven, the only thing that made me think differently was that its break resembles more of an eagle than raven.
Leonardo Marques oh I was thinking that since they didn't have serpents or snakes up there then how could the world serpent exist so if a giant snake is there then a giant vulture could exist. I think I've butchered the explanation but you'll be able to understand
There was originally a bossfight with the bird but for pacing and keeping the story sensical, it was cut. However Cory pretty much confirmed there will be a fight with it in the next game
What even more intersecting is that if you were to open photo mode, this "bird" is labeled as "Character 1" in the Depth of Field settings. It's present in the game as a 3D model at least.
So I know you're a mythology channel, but could you maybe like.. Upload a gameplay video haha. It'd be nice to see you having fun and reacting in real time to something and not just reading a paragraph over and over. Not that you what you're doing is bad haha. Love the work mate. Just a suggestion but you do what makes it easier for you and makes Ya happy.
Jhon Oudeis Lol babes, being supportive isn't being a flirt. You have a severe lack of understanding flirting behaviour bud. Id theorise it's because you haven't had much in your life but that's non of my business. Also. How the fuck is commenting on his UA-cam about something I'd like him to cover flirting? Sweetheart take a seat and don't strain yourself with thinking too hard.
When I saw it, my jaw dropped cuz I thought that was the gatekeeper that I’d have to fight, my few second long excitement was followed by disappointment that I’d have to fight another troll
Could it be possible that it's one of the 3 roosters that announce the start of Ragnarok? Also, I love your channel, but I just can't get passed your specific way of speaking. There's a certain cadence/fry
Yeah vocal fry is something I've been struggling with since I had a pretty severe throat infection last year but I'm working on it perhaps it will get better with time.
Louie Dane i thougt the same. Is one of the three roosters. Or could be also Hela( ruler of Hel), sister of Fenrir the wolf and jormundgandr the snake.
It really reminds me of VALRAVN, the crow of deception from Hellblade, he is the reason for hel’s victims to have those vision , and it definitely is a figure I would see in Hel.
this maybe long, but its all suggestions. So, there was a cory balrog interview, where he sad some important things, one: the world serpent spoil stuff,so if we could understand him,we would be realy wiser, twoo: in the beginning at the game there are hints about lokis true identity and about other stuff, maybe again about the future of the series. There are a lot of mentions about ragnarok in the game,so you could explore that how the ragnarok prophecy fits the story of god of war,and what will happen in the next one, what could be kratos part. And finally,in the realm of giants we see a lot of giant corpses in the background, what is the deal with them.
Ambi C yeah that's what I thought! I Rember god of war 2! I didn't even pay attention to it after the fight then hear Zeus voice I was like NOOOOO its Zeus thats what that bird was lol. This makes since to What the guy said lol.
That bird is not Zeus. Zeus is dead and that was just an illusion of Helheim. They literally even put his name as "Helheim Zeus" AND the Norse mythology has so many creatures and beings that it makes absolutely no sense for ZEUS to be alive in HELHEIM.
There's no way we're going to fight the snake in any game. SPOILER Not when Atreus is his father. Although if we do end up fighting it, it will be Jormungand who's going to kill _Atreus,_ not the other way around. It's always son killing father with this bloodline... what with Uranus, Cronus, Zeus and Kratos.
I've heard quite a few interesting theories so far, let me know if you think it's either Hraesvelgr, One of the 3 roosters signalling Ragnarok, Hugin or Munin the ravens of Odin or perhaps another shape shifting deity.
Mythology & Fiction Explained We know it's not the Raven's of Odin, because we can destroy all of them in the game and they're really small.
I'm talking about his actual ravens not the ones placed in the game to act as collectable achievements.
Mythology & Fiction Explained its one of the 3 roosters signalling Ragnarok
Mythology & Fiction Explained Helheim's soot-red rooster who has no name crows to alert the dishonorable dead of Ragnarok, Fjalar the Crimosn rooster crows in Jotunheim alerting the giants of Ragnarok, and the last Gullinkambi the golden rooster crows in Asgard alerting Jerkface McOneeye of Ragnarok.

Fans: Can we kill it?
Kratos: No.
Fans: But big monster!
Kratos: It is not our concern.
Collus Sane Goddamn you BOOIIII
Collus Sane 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dude this comment is gold. Made me laugh out loud while on a meeting 😂

Thor Ragnarok reference Along side a god of war reference?
when i first saw the bird i was like "when do we get to kill it"

Me too

Hell yeah. Same here
Yeah I was ready!!!
Cory Barlog said there will be no DLC because when he grew up he bought a game, went home and played the whole game.
He doesn't like the fact of micro transactions or not having a full game at all
So the next God of War will be another full game to continue off this masterpiece
As how games should be, i love his ideal
There actually may be a dlc, but it'll be free and it'll be just skin. Just like spiderman, they gave player free skin dlc.
There was an idea for DLC, but Barlog scrapped it because it was "too ambitious". He wanted a DLC that would be equivalent in length to the Uncharted spinoff "Lost Legacy" but it was too big of a DLC to do for a game.
This is why I love that man no homo
destiny fans have left the chat
The bird legitimately freaked me out
Brandon Michaud yes
Me too I was literally shocked when I saw it moving in the background.
I wanted to fight it, but then we just got another troll boss fight
It's just a bird LOOOOL
Mr.Couch Potato you got trolled
I thought it was very weird that nobody mentioned the bird when we got so close to it with the boat. Normally Atreus would have said something or atleast Mimir. It didnt make any sense that they completely ignored it.

Bird Person from Rick and Morty
I actually wanted to fight that thing and I got scared the first time I saw it
Carloss Noah Hulk:"Big MONSTAAAAA!"
Hopefully in the sequel
Carloss Noah NO. I highly doubt the plan was that we would fight anything besides trolls and draugr.
Halfway through the game I realised in terms of epic boss fights that wasn't going to be the case.
Yeah it freaked me out when I encountered it
Xperienced 3xpertease besides the dragon what other boss fights did we have?
God of war was and Is one of the finest games I have ever had the privilege of playing.
401RISaint I agree bud
Definitely
401RISaint
401RISaint the game is overrated as fuck
Overrated for good reasons, buddy.
That bird was the first thing my eye caught when getting to the boss fight in Hel.
I thought something was going to happen mid or post fight.
isnt it incredible how thoroughly the writers researched the source material? that giant bird is such an obscure charcter and the fact that its shown in the game really shows that the developers did their homework

I agree
Yeahh
I would like more of these things in games
I really like that feeling
BRO THATS EXACTLY WHAT IM FEELIN THANK U
In my opinion, Hraesvelgr is the most interesting and CREEPIEST creature I’ve ever seen.
If that is that giant then it's pretty cool that they put something so less known and so trivial in the game in such a way. Little details like that impress me for some reason.
Jesus Christ what's up Jesus

Daizym i like the theory
Maybe its just taunting Kratos to go over there and kill its ass.
His wings created the winds to carry the boat and also it is the source of the icy winds in helheim
Or it knows atreus is loki and thats why, because loki will trigger ragnarokkr
Haven't you heard? Bird is the word!
Why everybody knows that the bird is the word.
Well, don't you know about the bird?
well peters gonna tell you about the bird
Craaaaap!!!
BA BA BA BIRD BIRD
random guy who got this video suggested, the fact you kept it short when any other youtuber would have made atleast a 10 min video rambling about random stuff is what made me sub. keep up the good work
I thought that bird was gonna be a boss fight would have been a great battle like the old games fighting a bunch of giant bosses
I hope someone picks up that phone, Because you called it.
Magni and Modi next or Tyr?
Mythology & Fiction Explained Tyr please
Tyyrr
Tyr
Magni and Modi
Tyr
You should do a video on the elves
GUILTY seconded. either the original elves with the holes in their backs or the ones in modern fantasy. or both. I'm cool with any and all.
Gilberto Tabares I think he meant elves in Norse mythology.
*HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE HIGH ELVES?*
Mr. Cuddlesworth I swear to God I knew someone would comment that
Mr. Cuddlesworth i know i would find a comment like you. :D Oblivion rocks
When I first saw this giant eagle I was freaked out for a minute.
This is really one of the best games of all time
You were right! God of War Ragnarok confirmed that this is indeed Hraesvelgr
Atreus: Alrighty, i sneaked out!
Kratos: What are you doing, Boy?
Atreus: I.. I was visiting Fenrir
Kratos: For two days?
A sense of fear and curiosity really sets in when you see this giant bird on the vast horizon just moving about.

Johnny Revenue It's meant as a joke.
The irony of a joke about autism but can’t tell it was a joke in the first place..
Marvel-Dc Jr Yuck
Johnny Revenue i would have deleted such a dumb comment 😞🤣
So he will be a boss in the second game and return in the third game as Phoenix person?
1:19 he chillin
It nerved me like crazy when I first saw it. It was my 'oh shit' moment where I was pending my immediate death if I was to fight it. And even though I encountered it a few more times it still made me tense. In retrospective, if it was the intention from the developers, good job.
The young Kratos was like "get ready boy, you're my next target!".
I was in awe of him the whole time i really wanted to interact with it maybe he'll have a bigger role in the next game when we fight Thor and Odin
This was the right answer the whole time!
Indeed... that's rly awesome
The whole time i was there i was legit freaking out. The way it just stands there looking at you. Barely moving a muscle. And then when you got up close to it. Holy shit. This isn’t a horror game but it sure as hell freaked me out more than any horror game has done in a while.

Nirav Ramdarie they got killed by kratos the end
james Deer Yeah, but that’s all until Kratos comes into the picture.
Tbh, they were depicted as pussies in the game...

Tony Montana oh, I did not know that, however, didn't atreus get the serpent to help them near the end of the game when you kill baldur
Tony Montana by that I mean, he spoke to him
The Hybrid1 no shit, I was trying to make a point that atreus spoke to the serpent, meaning midir isn't the only one who can speak it's language.
Absolutely the greatest most exquisitely perfect length of a video ever done on UA-cam.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

@@pokerface9432 Kratos is cursed by the Olympian God's to not be able to kill himself. He cannot die by his own hands.
B) The sword lost its power since its original creator Zeus is dea and by stabbing himself with it Kratos released the power of hope within him to the people
C) Ares took back the Blades of Chaos from Kratos in GOW 1 but after becoming the god of war, Kratos had acces to all the weapons of ares including the blades of chaos.
Can you do a video on the deference between Freja and Frigg, since the game mixes those two together ?
Acedia DeKay Norse mythology mixes those 2 together more often than not
They explain it in game by saying that Frigg was invented by Odin as a way to belittle Freya's accomplishments.
This made anything Freya did was Frigg's glory.
you are right if you are talking about the game, you are dead wrong if you are talking about the myth
Great video man! Short and informative, very interesting and no bullshit.
Thank you cause I've been wondering about that bird for days!
ninjaeris131 mah niggaaa
It turned out that you’re right, she’s Hraesvelgr. Thanks for the heads up
There are actually 3 of these birds, one in Helheim, Asgard, and one in Jotunheim. When Ragnarok starts after the death of Baldur, the birds will crow to alert the dead, the gods, and the giants of Ragnarok beginning.
I thought it was three roosters instead of birds?
Leonardo Ellis yeah, the 3 roosters of ragnarok and this “bird” are different things
My Supervisor was literally asking me about this bird on Friday, I now have an answer. Thank you. Keep them coming.
since we're Norse'ing it up for the foreseeable future, do Garm, the Norse version of Cerberus.
it would be a shame if Garm didn't make an appearance in the norse GoW games
Thad Starch I know right? and as an actual boss, not a mini boss that later turns into a trash mob for Kratos to dismember by the dozen.
Though considering Garm is Hel's watchdog, it may actually become an ally just like the World Serpent. Hel isn't going to attack someone who's allied with her brother.
SPOILER
Especially when that ally is her own father. But Hel and Fenrir haven't been born yet (and Jormungand traveled back in time), so it's possible even Garm might not exist yet. I mean, who ruled Hel before Hel?
DeltaSilver88 The satan?
Norse mythology doesn't have demons or satan, I think. ...Hel might not actually have had a ruler before Hel, or then Hraesvelgr was the original leader and he just got driven off when Hel showed up.
I saw the bird and it legit scared the shit out of me, I almost thought it was a giant demon with bird-like features
Why did artaeus seem so sure that he didn't kill modi when he saw a vision of himself doing so in helhiem?
And when artaeus fell sick. You hear the giant horn being blown and Mimir mentions "someone's calling the world serpent" but it's never mentioned again. Who was that?
Please do a theory on those
themanwhohasnohead tru
Most likely baldur, who had no idea that kratos was so close by.
The developers set up a lot of stuff for people to speculate and theory about, which is so amazing.
it was baldur. he says it when you do the final fight with him.
artreus says thats its not him cuz he was at that moment blind by rage and when he saw himself he couldnt believe that he acted the way he did
i think this is my favorite creature i’ve ever seen when it comes to eldritch or love craftian horror.
Nice video boy!
The Bird is probably Hel,which is one of Loki's(Atreus') children.
Can you please do a video on 'seventh sons' and the origin of those stories (like, 'a seventh son of a seventh son can see ghosts' or 'seventh sons are wizards, etc.)
marieke Elzer Seventh son of the seventh son is supposed to be a saviour of some sort according to what I heard
Yes, there are many variations on the story, but I can't seem to find it's origins
marieke Elzer the seventh son is based on the books titled the spooks apprentice. The series finished a few years ago by Joseph Delaney.
Lauren Smith The stories about seventh sons already existed before them, (and yes, I've read these books)
Aye im a big fan man!!!! You are so talented
We all know by now that this bird is actually my ex wife. Whenever id step into my house when we were together, she'd squawk at me and fly around if I didn't feed her
Wow, I had no idea what that was, thank you for the tidbit on the subject. I'll have to check out more videos.
You were right
Indeed... that's rly rly epic to see
That’s me sitting in traffic every morning
It could very easily be Odin. It looked like one eye was missing. And you do go around killing a lot of his ravens. Maybe it's Odin checking up on you in Helhiem.
I agree if definitely could be Odin as it does resemble a Raven, the only thing that made me think differently was that its break resembles more of an eagle than raven.
I thought that it looked more like a vulture since they do scavenge from corpses (the dead) and I thought it would be fitting
Roy Da Boy are there even vultures in that part of the world?
Mythology & Fiction Explained I was under the impression that it was one of the birds that would signal the coming of Ragnaroke
Me: let’s kill it
Kratos: no boy
it makes me happy to know that wi wasn't the only one completely afraid of it, its scary.
You can make a video about Magni and Modi
You just make more interesting every time with every video you make 👍🏽
Can u plz do Thamur the Giant
This is just scary. Like something huge yet untouchable, freaky thing is inside the frame with all movement and stuffs with beautiful rendering.
I've completed the story twice over and never noticed this bird. I need to stop smoking.
What even more intersecting is that if you were to open photo mode, this "bird" is labeled as "Character 1" in the Depth of Field settings. It's present in the game as a 3D model at least.
Apparently it was meant to be the boss battle but they couldn't do it
@@massivew7307 - so I’ve heard.
Xena Thompson stop flirting.with him
Jhon Oudeis Lol babes, being supportive isn't being a flirt.
Meh gameplay and reaction channels are really overused
Old Hunter Tom I don't like most of them though, they're abnoxious and loud.
Xena Thompson would u help a brother out and accept the request of @saijin
The first thought I had when playing was that it was just a giant Odin's raven watching what you were doing in Helheim.
BIRD PERSON 😂
His son has something to say or ask about everything damn thing but he sees a giant bird and was like na...
DankDa Gank underrated comment
When I saw it, my jaw dropped cuz I thought that was the gatekeeper that I’d have to fight, my few second long excitement was followed by disappointment that I’d have to fight another troll
When will you do the slavic mythology ?
Sadly, I don't think there are enough people interested in the topic to get a sufficient number of views.
Kamil Szadkowski You don't realize how many neopagan slavs there are on yt
This videos are amazing man. Thank you for answerimg our questions, because there are many.
Mythology & Fiction Explained oh shit sorry that was ignorant of me. Love your videos
No need to apologize, if people didn't mention It I most likely wouldn't have noticed.
Louie Dane i thougt the same. Is one of the three roosters. Or could be also Hela( ruler of Hel), sister of Fenrir the wolf and jormundgandr the snake.
Axel Maure also children of Loki ;)
Do Tyr next ... Awesome video by the way, sweet and short
It's obviously Songbird from BioShock
underrated comment
The Giants died but I don't know how
The bird and the giant serpent fight would have been so litttt
Magni and Modi please?
boricuapower 10 you need more explaining than they are the sons of Thor?
Yeah what their role was in actual Norse Mythology and if they were major figures or if they were fodder
I dont think theres much writeen about them other than theyre sons of thor. They survive ragnarok and inherit thors hammer
This video earned a like and a comment
I thought it was Zeus!
Tony Troy yes because in god of war 2 Zeus betrayed Kratos by making him smaller too fight the statue
Ambi C yeah that's what I thought! I Rember god of war 2! I didn't even pay attention to it after the fight then hear Zeus voice I was like NOOOOO its Zeus thats what that bird was lol. This makes since to What the guy said lol.
Manifestation of Zeus!
Yes I think it is zues because zues voice was in accordance to that bird plus he is a manifestation of a bird from gow2
That bird is not Zeus. Zeus is dead and that was just an illusion of Helheim. They literally even put his name as "Helheim Zeus" AND the Norse mythology has so many creatures and beings that it makes absolutely no sense for ZEUS to be alive in HELHEIM.
Finally somebody makes a video about it
It would be sick if you can eventually fight this bird or even the snake in a future god of war!
Kratos already killed his father and his first wife and daughter, now he's going to kill his grandchild?
There's no way we're going to fight the snake in any game.
SPOILER
Not when Atreus is his father. Although if we do end up fighting it, it will be Jormungand who's going to kill _Atreus,_ not the other way around. It's always son killing father with this bloodline... what with Uranus, Cronus, Zeus and Kratos.
