Konami needs to revert back to the 2019 Mega tins with lower set count to at least 200 card sets, switched rarities, and Pr-Pr-Promos. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Fact check: 2019 Mega tins were 270 cards. 2020 had 249. 2021 had 258. 2022 had 275. 2023 had 293. So I would say the 249-270 ballpark is still good. Way better than the 400 card trainwreck.
@@QuasarYGO I dont even think 400 cards was the actual issue (even though it is a contributor). Every good card being a secret and Commons, Ultras and most of the QCRs being worthless is the bigger issue. If they shifted 80% of the banger secrets to the other rarities, a 400 cardset could be fine
So, the reason for the artwork being perfect on the different foil has to do with the inking process. It's the white layer that determines what is and isn't subject to the foiling, and the white layer doesn't change, no matter what type of foil pattern is used. Highly recommend Glimmer, a documentary on MTG foiling made by Rhystic Studies. He dives into the history and process of the foiling process for trading cards.
Opened around 200 cases with my buddies. The results were pretty similar, nothing seems to be short printed but i expect the secret dmg will get bought out due to ratio. If anything is consistent over the years is Konami's greed.
200 cases? I am debt free, own 4 investment properties and I still wouldn’t waste that much dough on cardboard, let alone a clear scam. Money is still money. Knowing the ratios now, I’d rather just invest the money into crypto utility assets like XRP, XDC and equities. Some people are whacked! 🤣
@cbgg1585 buddy relax it's for my friends business thats already secured presales.... cmon man, don't go trying to show off when you don't know the basics....
The packs should have contained: 2 Secrets 2 Ultra 2 Super The rest, just commons, and the QCSR should haven PROMOS, three per tin like the 2019 ones. And yeah, in the imaginary scenario they didn't erase supers to oblivion, like rares as well.
foiling is just a print file, the mask is made and sent to the printer to knock out where the foil lays. so the mask made for prismatic is the same mask made for regular secret, that is 100% an order issue or a printer issue.
Within the same case I would see mapped packs where card for card they were the same pack. I would also see good and bad clumping. In one case I pulled qcr 5 honest, 3 anima, 3 ruby carbuncle, no qcr over 15 bucks. My friend opened a case, pulled playset qcr blue eyes, playset of thrust, alt art dmg, and a s:p little knight. From what I've seen, it's about 50-50 ratio on whether or not you get a high value case or just a meh case.
Not gonna lie, one card I may hold off on getting atm is Thrust. I could see it being reprinted in Bonanza as the card doesn't have a QcR print and I feel like it's a card that'll likely get a QcR in that set.
They say that QCSR's***** are made up of a different pool than the pool that gets the 6 other prints. If that's the case then thrust is either only getting a QCSR***** or it's going to get those 6 other printings. Or it won't get re printed at all!
@@erichindy8688 it was mentioned that the main 78 card pool will consist of 7 different rarities (inc QcR), but if a card in that pool has a QcR print already, it won’t get another QcR print, but will appear in the other 6 rarities. Thrust could be in the 78 card pool in the 7 rarities or QcR/Plat ScR-only in the 200 card pool. If Thrust isn’t in that set, I can see Konami using it to sell another set like the 2025 summer reprint set for instance.
@@silversalamence10 it's as I said, the QCSRs are a separate pool from the rest of the set. So it's really up in the air with what they want to do with thrust they're either going to give it a "luxury rarity" or it's going in the 78 card pool or it's not going in at all and like you said they're gonna save it for a set in early 2025
@@erichindy8688 here’s the thing though, within the 78 card pool, the secret rare slot has a 1 in 4 chance of being Platinum Secret OR Quarter Century, and you’re forgetting that Platinum Secret is one of the 7 rarities that exist in the main card pool too and the three currently confirmed cards in Bonanza are within that 78 card pool, but also all have QcR prints already, this is where you’ve come a cropper here.
Diversity is amazing but just because there is some, doesn't mean things shouldn't have been hit. Konami really slacked on the possibility to cause a bigger change
Last year qcr tin prices is exactly why i didn’t buy any of these qcrs in singles yet. Even the full set of qcrs didn’t get me to bite because i don’t trust these values.

Picking up blue eyes and DMG. I will have to remember to scour Ebay for the secret misprints. Might pick up a few and try my luck I actually have pulled quite a few misprints lately, maybe my luck will hold up. I sold 2 ultra SDK artwork from some tin it was either 2016 or 2018, but I got like $25, I think I paid $5 years ago. I don't mind holding cards for that long. Not making the same mistake though, I want at least 10 copies of each DMG and blue eyes.
Honestly, the absolutely massive set combined with less pulled secrets far outweighs the increased ultras (basically all of which are rarity upgrades). Why can't Konami remove the 95% pack filler commons altogether? Or just give previous secrets an ultra or super, or even a common? Would make the tins sell much better and the value after a couple years would still retain itself
The pack should have been 2 Secrets instead of 1 and upgrade the commons to Super or Ultra as you said. The fact we don't have any shortprints but due to cardpool QCSRs are easier to find is ridiculous
Serious question, what was the issue with legendary collections??? Why can’t Konami just revert back to that format? I couldn’t care less about a common that’s been reprinted a common. Combine the rarity collection format with the legendary collection format and make the packs feel more special and premium. I’m literally opening a pack to look for two cards (prismatic and QCR) if anything
Honest to God, may be one of the worst products Konami has ever put out, if not *the* worst. Guess the move is wait for Bonanza bc honestly with these pull rates I can't see most the chase cards coming down to reasonable prices. Might pick up a Ty-phon and the Lab stuff, that's about it. Even Chaos Angel is something like 20 bucks presale, no thanks
This is definitely not the worst product Konami has released. Shadow Specters from 2013 and Duelist Pack - Dimensional Guardians from 2017 are competing for that title. These tins, while terrible, are not on that level of complete and utter trash.
@@JakeLikesJoking at least specters was a mainline set, so it being trash could be forgiven, as it was a set that really wasn't in their control as far as set format, these tines though, KoA had full control of the set creation ,and somehow burned the bed down.
