I love how when Benjamin brings Laura something, she never says "I don't need that, will you please put that back" She just takes it says thank you! I have always done this with my son for this reason... Ive learned that they just want to help- just let them feel like they've done that! It only takes a second to put back what theyve brought you! I do the same in the grocery store! I let my son put random things in the cart, instead of arguing with him over whether we need it or not, I just put it back when he's not looking... when he's a little older I can work on teaching him the things we jeed vs. the things we dont...

The ajuga’s growth habit is to flower off a rosette, send off all the new stolons to create new rosettes which will root and prepare for next year’s flowers and stolons. The current rosette will then die off. That’s how ajuga spreads. Your ajugas are perfectly healthy. That centre is supposed to wither away. Don’t cut off the extras - they are next year’s rosettes and vital for the fullness of coverage!!

I’m amazed you can find trays 12pk, 9pk, 6pk, of starters because we don’t have those here. When planting a vegetable garden we use to be able to buy multi packs now its each plant. We use Earth Boxes. Some Earth Boxes call for six plants and you if you can buy a six pack of peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, etc., It’s very economical. Now at $4.95 to $5.95 a plant it’s around $30-$36 an Earth Box and I have 45 earth boxes. Thats ot economical at all. I know they’re bigger plants however I’d rather start small and grow my own with a multi pack. Of course I’m talking big box stores like Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Walmart etc. that’s about all we have. We’re at their mercy. I love your videos. Very inspiring.

I have a suggestion for your spent daffodil leaves. I take a small handful and braid them, then curl them around (like a cinnamon bun) and feed the end into the curl so it stays in place. The small unobtrusive little piles can then brown up completely to feed the bulbs for next year without making the bed look messy. 🙂

Your west side garden may be my favorite. Seeing you completely retool that area has given me confidence to “go for it” in my own garden. 🤩 What is your vision for the boxwood formation side of the west side garden? More “fluffy” plants? It’s so pretty!

My favorite ground cover is snow in summer. Its GORGEOUS right now and it stays lovely year around. We have quite a bit of space to fill in so its spreading tendencies are welcome in my garden. Its also quite easy to maintain and doesn't seem to mind overhead watering from nearby sprinklers.

😄😂😂 That was so gross, and I watched it without squirming. I must admit, I squashed a few bugs this morning without my gloves today, and never thought I'd see this day, being born and raised in NYC. Gardening makes you and your stomach tough.

Every different place in your garden becomes my favorite place. Like when you’re on the west side I’m like the west side is totally my favorite place. But then when you’re in the south garden and the South Garden has so much opportunity totally my favorite. But then the west side of your house with that tall urn and sidewalk also totally my favorite. Then the country girl in me loves the chicken coop and the cottage vibes. And when I’m feeling sophisticated I love the versailles garden and of course the Hartley for when I’m feeling fancy.
