Not familiar with everyone in the video but Dave Duckett did the farrier work at farm I was at for years. Did excellent work and was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor too
I remember that D.Dickett well, In 1969 G.Sutton 1st D.Duclett2n. In 1970 D.Duckett 1st G. Suton 2nnd, That was Ducketts 1st National championship win.
I have been a farrier for 31 years and I cant believe that the same old rubbish is being taught. They made us make this type of shoe at college 30 years ago what a waste of time consider it a forging excersie nothing more than that. If anyone can convince me that it is a wedge on the inside heel is laughable. Bearing in mind most farrier can not trim a hind foot correctly the damage to this pointless bit of steel can only cause more harm than good.
My hat is off to the welsh horseshoeing program. These former graduates have been teaching us for many decades and I want to say a big THANK YOU!!!

I'm glad I could put faces to names on boards with shoes in our classroom shop. At Kwantlen polytechnic.

....and introducing them, Grant Moon, of Wales.
And in the background you can see ”novices” like Jim Blurton, Steven Bean as well as a very Young Cody Gregory
Who makes that hammer?
Bruce Wilcock I guess.
He stopped forging them a few years ago.
I suppose one could say you have excelled when you have someone heat your shoe and brush the scale off it......😏
