Perhaps its because I am a fan of KoRn since 1994, but I just dont feel that jazzy groove with that sweet snare and tom drum sound without Dave. It effects the whole rhythm of the band. Especially Fieldy. Ray is an excellent musician but he falls flat with KoRn
Nah, newer-ish fan here and I immediately felt the same thing. Before I even knew they had a different drummer I could tell the feel was lacking in the more recent performances. I also would not call Ray an excellent musician, I'd call him an excellent drummer. Everything he does when he's performing feels very self serving, as if he thinks he's the focus. He still hasn't learned how to take a step back and serve the song. He's doing the most and it doesn't work. David knew when to push and when to pull back.

I've always thought Ray was like a UA-cam drummer that lucked out. I know he's been doing this since well before UA-cam was even a thing, much less enough to have its own niche of showoff drummers, but he'd be better fitted for that than Korn. Always doing the most.
