Hello, I have the same problem with the Virtual USB Multikey showing a danger symbol, but I cant find that windows update No. KB5005033 on the update history, can you tell me other way to solution it?.
How does the key work? I assume an application generates a random number (using date/time, mouse movement, etc as a seed) then sends it to the dongle, where the value returned is validated? However, there must be more to it, since the software could be patched such that it always sends the same number and/or accepts any value returned. Also, ebay has $20 dongles , yet they can't all be interchangeable for different software. I'd love to emulate a dongle for a 20-year old WinXP program that I use under a virtual machine. The company is out of business, and the dongle is flakey. I try not to unnecessarily remove or insert it, and just always keep it plugged in, however, even still it often loses the connection. I'm sure it's a matter of time before it will stop working!
