  • Railway guns like the German WWII K5 gun had a very narrow aim. To get around that problem, Germans developed a circular track, allowing the gun to rotate and fire in 360 degrees.

    Germans used railway artillery creatively. In the one of the battles for Rzhev salient, a Soviet calvary attempted to cut the Vyazma rzhev railway but was beaten back by a railway artillery.

      It’s literally a gigantic artillery piece. How is this state of the art? I’d rather have a regular artillery regiment over a single large rail cannon any day.

    We had one of those standing in our village in the black forest and the city near us was bombed because the allies thought it would be there.

      no better way to show the foolishness of somethings then to take the remaining symbols it made in the image of its arrogance presserve them bot has historic examples of how tech developed and with the historic chapter about it in nice big letters carved in stone! infront of it! about what it played part of ..in the facists case often a 'divine purpuse & might makes right' stupidity excuse as this gun is a good embodyment of it and a good warning that even if being the top dog of your time dont shield you from karma if you turn despotic.

    Its downfall was there was only 6 of these mega guns and it took over 50 soldgers to man it. Its was used in the did he of svasterpol. That's about the only use it was ever effective.

      You are wrong. There were many artillery guns on rails, but the one you're referring to is the Gustav/Dora gun. That one was just too big for its own good but this type of gun in the video wasn't so rare.
