Every time Jim Bob says something absolutely idiotic, I get the vibe that Michelle has to cringe internally because she knows she married a complete moron, but she can't say that because her religion forbids her from asking him if there's a connection between his brain and wallpaper paste. That entire interview just confirmed this theory for me.
So triggered by Jeremy talking about discipline. I was raised in a baptist church and the parents were highly encouraged to physically discipline their kids. Now that I’m grown, married, and out of the church, I have seen the absolute irony of the idea that hitting your child will somehow change their hearts for the better. Agreed. I've had this discussion over the years w my mom for a long time, she couldn't let go of the idea that some kids are so small that you can only get them to obey through fear, and only sufficiently scare them into obedience through what amounts to violence. I told her last week that I think it's a fundamental act of cowardice for an adult to harm a small child who can't defend themselves or retaliate. It felt like the truth finally sank in for her. I hope so, although she's no danger to anyone now... I will add that as much as I believe that it's wrong to hit your child, I have failed to live up to that conviction, and have hit my kids a few times in anger and fear... I have made efforts to reconnect and repair the relationship with them afterward, and they're both double digit age and in therapy now (for many reasons personal to them...) I mention this because I hear a lot of stories of parents who have been abused and have successfully avoided ever laying a hand on their kids. I am in awe of and grateful to the stories of such parents, but I feel increasingly like it's necessary to acknowledge that if you have a moment as a parent of panic or rage and fall short of that ideal, you can still be doing the active work of breaking the cycle of abuse: I am not the perfect parent, and I probably am not the last generation to make serious mistakes, but when I talk to my kids about my sorrow at hurting them, when I let them get angry and process their feelings, when I succeed in a moment of not hitting them, when I get them therapy, when I talk to them about my mistakes and regrets, when I tell them about what I love about them, and what it was like for me to be their age, and what I hope for them and answer their questions and find ways to be close to them, I am doing the work of breaking that abuse cycle, even if it's not fully over with me. I don't want to empower anyone to hit their kids deliberately, or to do it and assume it'll be 'fine,' even if it's never acknowledged, I just felt so completely useless and devastated the first time I had a kind of panic attack and spanked my kid, I thought my life as a parent was doomed to failure and that I was never going to be able to recover or be safe around him...but the thing w parenting I've found, is that it's granular, and whatever you did yesterday, you'll have a chance to do again (differently) today. It's constant, and in all those minutes you can make up for occasional mistakes. So yeah, to literal hell with cowards who say you should abuse your kids to make them good people, because that is bass-ackwards and isn't true... and there is hope if you are actively trying to do better than your parents did, even if your 'record' on not replicating their behaviors isn't perfect.
One thing that really disturbs me is how Josh might have NEVER been caught and prosecuted if he had not been a public figure. While that often means offenders can get away with their crimes because money talks, in this situation it made it impossible for him to escape punishment. In the long run, the Duggar’s show might have saved future children from being harmed by Josh- at least while he is in prison.
speaking from experience, often an abuser's biggest defender is their mother. in the case of incestous CSA, it is a huge failing as a parent and many people can't own up to minor personal mistakes, let alone such a horrifying crimes. rugsweeping is the go to method for most fundamentalists christian families. because no one breathes a word, the other members of the family don't have any idea and the only one ostracized is the victim.
Even the ones who get caught, by the time they were caught it's after they have created 200 victims. Not that they have assaulted kids 200 times. There are 200+ victims. Each victim could have been SA'd dozens of times.
Yeah that’s what I was thinking while watching this. Like he was only found out for molestation when he was a teen because someone emailed the the Oprah Winfrey! He was only found out because of his publicity!
So you’re making a good point and I have a thought I just want to add: is it possible also that one of the reasons he was held accountable was because he and his family were so open about their religion for so long that not holding them accountable would Condone their hypocrisy? Like they’re part of this religion that should be condemning his actions and punishing him for them, and since they clearly don’t take these action seriously authorities were like yeah these people are hypocritical and crazy we really need to do something about it because it’s one making the religion look bad and two clearly they don’t take it seriously and the public will think badly of the religion because of the situation. I mean that’s just all kind of a thought that’s along the lines of conspiracy and I am aware of that, but let’s be real this is Arkansas
Michelle Duggar has always creeped me out, even way before any scandals about the Duggars came out. Always speaking in that baby voice, and she seems so vacant minded, like she doesn't have any thoughts or feelings of her own.
thank you for reposting this video. the main reason I started fundie snarking was because I was sexually assaulted when I was 11 by a 14 year old and the teachers covered it up and my parents didn't press charges. I'm so glad Josh is getting what he deserves because I never got justice.
I said it in the old video but Michelle’s face when Jim Bob starts going “um ACTUALLY” about pedophilia is insane to me. Like, obviously she didn’t expect him to launch in like that but… girl you left your daughters in a super dangerous situation you have no right to be shocked your husband is fucking up this interview in such a weird way
Yeah, that was insane. Wtf goes on in that man’s head? Everything they came out of his mouth made it worse. He only seemed to realize mid sentence- “he was a child… preying on a child.” Seeing old footage of Jim Bob and the Duggar girls discussing the “rules” they have to follow like no dancing/“shaking body parts” so they don’t “stir up desires” hits different knowing everything we know now. It makes you wonder if the excessive amount of rules weren’t because of their religion but Jim Bob and Michelle trying to prevent Josh from being tempted by his sisters. Some of the rules that seemed over the top even for fundies.
"We try not to..stir up desires, things that cannot be righteously fulfilled,".The girls said.... sounds like "blame the victim" mentality to me. E.g. they blame themselves, (just like they were taught)and caused Josh to be tempted and molest them.
The commentary on “my daughters watch the calendar like a hawk” clip and the Mandela effect makes me want an episode about Duggar lost media because it reminds me of that rumor that Josiah ran away crying about the announcement that Michelle was pregnant with Jubilee. So many people claim that happened but no one can find a clip of it!
i could believe it!! it would be incredibly stressful for kids who already don't get enough time, attention and likely basic necessities to pretend to be happy that another child they have to take care of (because the parents do not.
@@audyshtpostshere4708 oh it definitely happened in the sense that that episode makes an odd stylistic choice to do a montage of reactions over which people say they can hear “Josiah don’t cry” and he disappears from the scene for a bit only to come back with Jim Bob clutching onto him and Josiah looking drained. But a lot of people out there claim the original airing of the episode showed him running away and being dragged back instead of trying to obscure it with a montage.
Her neighbors “stumbled in their marriage” because she wore a bikini? SOMEONE has an ego… And can I just say how annoying Michelle’s whispery little voice is?
you're SO right about the voice, every time I meet a woman who talks like that I just know we won't be friends, I'm sure some of them are nice but they're almost always fundies and I just can't stand it as someone with misophonia. Half the times it goes into whispers or unintelligable, and often has that really sharp s, it just drives me up a wall
"Unethical internet journalists" sent me! But seriously, Jen: you and James are such class acts. Perfect examples of how to critique in a hilarious way while taking the high road.
Agreed, especially I am watching this after watching the recording of CC Suarez's livestream from last night (who went over the most recent legal issues woacb is experiencing)
Ben wrote a tweet saying he and other true Christians 😜 needed to pray for Catholics as we are so misguided in our blasphemous belief that getting into Heaven is NOT as simple as giving our hearts to Jesus; we believe in the Scripture (paraphrasing) which says faith without good works is dead…so we do things like attend Mass, partake in the Eucharist, and go to Reconciliation (aka confession) on a regular basis to continue to grow in our faith and relationship with God.
…not to mention that Catholicism (and Eastern Orthodox Christianity, depending on where you lived in Europe) was THE only Christianity for a long until 1517, with Martin Luther imitating the Reformation. “Orthodox” literally means “righteous or correct opinion”…though that doesn’t mean that were quite a few other groups of Christians in Early Christianity either. Catholics are the ones who one the Theology battle. I highly recommend any book by Bart Ehrman who’s written a lot about Textual Criticism of scripture and the many groups and beliefs of Early Christians!!
Dude really was gonna out himself as a criminal in that clip right before his wedding, huh? "Yeah, I think I learned all that from -" rapidly cut off by his father. Absolutely fascinating choice to leave it in.
@@kathleentremblay2979 that's how I got pregnant on the pill too. Nowadays antibiotics come with a label that warns you about this, but at the time I didn't know.
I have to say, I'm tickled that Jessa Seewald named her son Spurgeon. I'm of Appalachian heritage and my father was named Spurgeon. Family called him "Spud"
I recently moved to the south, my partner is of Appalachian heritage, and it's been so interesting learning about Appalachian culture! The names, medicine, food, traditions are all fascinating. It definitely does not get the respect it deserves in other areas of the country.
Appalachias are an old, old group of people. I’ve rarely seen a more detailed yet secretive culture before and it’s endlessly fascinating. I can understand why they’re untrusting of the outside world though.
The Duggars have a "prayer closet" in their current house. Michelle mentioned in an old interview it's where the children go for quiet time to pray or something like that.
Can I say the joy it gives me to see those girls finding their own way, style, faith. And seeing them wear pants and shorts! Don't get me wrong, there's still so much dysfunction going on in there, but getting away from Dad is the best possible thing for every one of those girls. I do worry about that cycle of abuse continuing through those boys.
Love what you are doing. I am a Christian and am very against the fundie community and believe these people need to be talked about and discussed. I also appreciate that you are welcoming and loving to all and respectful. I am a huge Tammy Faye fan because of your video on her! Her love for everyone is relatable to me.
We adopted a Great Pyrenees a couple years ago. Was supposed to be 1.5 yes old and was actually 6 months. The item stealing! Holy cow! I’ve never owned a dog that steals and hides/destroys items more than a ferret. It’s the most insane compulsion that doesn’t seem to stop. 😂
Omg yes. My sister-in-law had one but recently had to re home him to another family 😭 buttttt he always was stealing shit 😂 I have a chocolate lab and a black lab but she’s a mut, her dad is an akbash so closely related to the Great Pyrenees and omg this dog has stole and devoured everything I have ever owned 😭 she’s not as bad now but she still has her moments. She took a nice little trip one night bc I turn my back for one second and she ate a certain something 🥴
It definitely slowed down for mine around 4 years old😂 Occasionally he will still try but it’s rare. From 8 weeks to about three he was constantly stealing the kids stuff🤦🏼♀️
We have an Aussie/border collie and Great Pyrenees pup and he loves to just burst into anyones room and steal shoes/clothes 😭 never knew it was so prevalent with Great Pyrenees bois
23:15 *When I hear “prayer closet”, my mind goes immediately to the creepy shrine closet from the original “Carrie” movie.* Whenever she felt Carrie needed to get right with the Lord, her mother would command that she “Go into your closet and pray!”, thereby dragging her kicking and screaming to the cramped cupboard, locking her therein for hours at a time while she screamed and cried until she finally relented and gave in to the unwavering heavenward gaze of the terrifying plaster rendering of Jesus upon the crucifix lit from below by unnecessarily creepy red candles. *”EVE WAS WEAK! EVE WAS WEAK!”* Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie were absolutely iconic as Carrie (NOT Cassie 😤) White and her unhinged and delusional mother, Margaret.
That movie is awesome. Like how it handled the source material, the visuals, everything about it is just so well done. And yes you’re right. The prayer closet in that movie was not meant to be a place of reflection and solitude but rather punishment. And it was so clear that the mother hated her own womanhood and was trying to project that onto her daughter. And really like bringing it back to your point, I think a lot of these fundamentalist women hate their own womanhood for the same reasons, they view themselves as being like Eve and let’s be real as women they are second class citizens in this culture. They think they’re not and they judge women in other cultures who truly are second class citizens in those cultures, but deep down they know that they are in Christian culture and they hate that and they’re angry about it and they project that
I came for the update, stayed for the cover songs. Please dont stop singing the songs. It gives me life in ways i didnt know i could. Love ya jen and james and collection of children ❤️
As an ex-fundie myself, the prayer closet is a biblical concept from the writings attributed to Paul. He talks about praying in secret so that it doesn't look like you're prayer gossiping, or doing it just to be seen. Personally, if I had one, I'd be rubbing one out for the Lord!
As someone who was forced to run a half marathon in my Dad’s basketball shorts and a huge gigantic T-shirt by my fundie ass parents I can tell you firsthand that running in way more clothes than necessary is awful. I was also 13 and 100 pounds it was so cringey🤦🏼♀️
I love these director's cuts! I like the format so much that I hope some other channels I watch will do something similar with older content. I love rewatching "oldies but goodies" and the extra bonus commentary makes it so perfect.
Obsessed with the Kirk Cameron poster. He lived near my aunt in the early 2000s and I saw him jogging around the lake where they lived while we were gathered for my Great Uncle's funeral. Needless to say despite the somber situation I started freaking out because I was OBSESSED with Growing Pains LOL.
This Dugger video was how I found the channel, it's like watching a movie you haven't seen in a few years and bring back memories from when you first watched it
As someone who is deconstructing and healing, you channel really encourages me. Thank you for standing up. I hope you and James have a great weekend! :)
The "has a bad habit of yelling, 'HOLA!' at foreigners, regardless of if they're in a Spanish-speaking country" is one of my favorite phrases now, and makes JBD seem like a deleted character from "Arrested Development."
the re releases are even more fun to look forward to just for the updated commentary! when you don't even care that you're basically watching a vid twice because it's double the jen
You were right, it’s a death trap. Using a car seat like that without the base (or coordinating stroller it clicks into) can cause positional asphyxia - the base that goes with it makes sure it’s at the right angle to prevent the danger but without the base children have died in them.
Watched 14 Kids and Counting years and years ago with my mom in a hotel when I was in middle school. My mom was fascinated by Michelle’s bad dresses and why anyone would have that many kids. Love that I can share Duggar snarking with my mom. Lol
I just want to say that this video really shows how much you've been willing to learn through the charges that Josh went through. I'm a survivor of COCSA and for me, if people are willing to listen and learn, I appreciate it
I'm pretty sure I watched all of the original videos. My curiosity about (and horror of) the Duggars is what brought me to your channel in the first place!
I just don't understand how ppl live two lives!?!? For example when Josh is being interviewed and he goes on that political and religious rant and puts down and judges sooo many groups of ppl but yet he knows he's cheating and watching underage material online....I just don't get it!!!!
I really missed these early Duggar episodes since they got taken down. Was totally worth it to hear Jen belt out the “Loyalty” Song in a baritone voice…was laugh-crying for a good 5 minutes 😂🤣
oh my god. I didn't realize it until I saw your outfit and background for the original video, but this was the FIRST video of yours I ever watched! it kept being recommended to me and I ended up being like "fuck it, this sounds good" one day. and it totally was!
God the clip of to catch a predator with him trying the hook up with someone he thought was 12 is so sad for the child and fucking disgusting all around. And just the reminder of how heavily his parents defended him for molesting their own daughters... So so sad for those girls.
The catch a predator bit wasn’t him it was just like a “imagine if he had actually got caught” using to catch a predator clips (tho he did get arrested so we can cheer now it’s not a fantasy!)
If you were building a custom house for your million children, you could just give them all their own bedroom and they wouldn't need a cupboard to pray in.
Looking back at footage of Jim Bob, I just get the ick so bad. He always made me feel uneasy but after knowing the Josh stuff, Jim Bob really makes my skin crawl.
I'm screaming over not knowing what the 'officially court me' joke is. I grew up on early 2000s internet and thought i knew all the dirty things!!!! Love the directors cuts!
Love this updated version. You singing that wretched wedding song is everything! I also swear by the fertility calendar moment having happened in an episode; however, I wonder if it wasn't so much a scene with the usual voice-over commentary, but instead a screen capture of the marked up calendar, which online sleuths then determined to be marks related to ovulation... We need to know lol (Side note: do you know how eternally, seethingly jealous Jill Rodrigues is of the pic at 31:20. Oof - instant need for a night out with "babe." The best she can do in that gross fundie breeding competition, is constantly remind us that her youngest is an aunt to Nurie's 1st.. not as good as the cringey double maternity pic, Jill 😏)
Wow, how did I not know that this stuff with Josh Dugger was being investigated as early as 2006! I thought it was like 2012 at the earliest (in my defense, I’ve never actually seen the show and just know what I heard through social media until I started watching this account a couple months ago and have been binging all the fundie snark material)
the first video I watched from you was the original duggar video! I'm so glad your channel was recommended to me, you and James always make me smile on a Friday!
I am really enjoying these director's cuts with bonus commentary. Thank you for putting these together and I hope you'll rerelease more of your videos with bonus content!
It wouldn't be safe but since she said "if you're travelling and you don't have room in the car" or whatever, I think she honestly meant this for a temporary storage solution to pack both tighter in a small space.
i love these directors cuts! It’s a good way of refreshing older content and clarifying past wording without erasing the original/having to rewrite and repeat it all ♥️
I’m loving the re-releases! This video is how I originally found you! And let me say as a former makeup artist, your skin looks gorgeous and glowy, the lip shade is beautiful, and the yellow eyeshadow is so fun! Screw anyone else that says otherwise!
Regrettably I saw Josh’s wedding back when it aired and it is forever burned into my mind. Sometimes it haunts me to the point I have to think about Tsubasa Chronicles Reservoir’s timeline, which is a literal paradox, to reset my brain.
It’s really cool to see how much you’ve grown in production value AND your vocabulary regarding some of these things. As someone who grew up in the Fundie community, I’ve struggled to learn all the appropriate words and terms for things over the years. It’s lovely to see someone acknowledge bad wording and just, change it without it being a massive deal.
Can I just say I love the juxtaposition of baby Jen in the beginning yellow makeup meme and mature, post-possible-channel-deletion Jen in the notes. They are both absolutely incredible but I love the glow up. ❤️
That's why I love them so much! Integrity & ethics are hard to find.. especially talking about American politics & religion. Jen & James are amazing! I'm waiting for them to start their own 20 kids & counting. We need more amazing humans like them
Something i just noticed from 44:36- (on being 'missionaries' in central America) "we have to talk about things other couples don't. Like, if you die, where do I go from there?" Um in all honesty, that is 100% a convo ALL couples should have if they've reached a point where they're committed. You can die anywhere at any time. You don't need to be a missionary in some 'scary b/c it's not the US' country for you to get your ticket punched early.
Kirk Cameron dressed as Captain Kirk is adorning your wall. I love it so much!!!! Wall decor that doubles as an inside joke 🤣. I'm a new subscriber. Enjoying your content. Your Gwen Shamblin upload was very interesting ❤.
@Fundie Fridays, Jenn, I dunno if you saw the chat, but I showed my 65 y/o mom your video today.
She seems so dangerous to me. The baby voice and everything seems like a mask that covers something entirely evil.
thank you for reposting this video. the main reason I started fundie snarking was because I was sexually assaulted when I was 11 by a 14 year old and the teachers covered it up and my parents didn't press charges. I'm so glad Josh is getting what he deserves because I never got justice.
I’m so sorry that happened to you!! ❤️
Huggles
Oh honey I’m so sorry that happened to you. Glad this community makes you feel a little better because you DO deserve justice, ALL THE JUSTICE 💙
💕
ugh, i am sorry that happened, may you be blessed all the days of your life, you deserve it
Still shook that Jim bobs buddy is Michele, his adult partner, and not the tens of children he’s fathered
"Never taken Marijuana" basically cements that he has never used drugs
😆😆😆
ikr, no one who has would put things that way.
Unless you specifically want your strict parents to think you've never used drugs 😂
but notice the producer didn't ask Michelle ...
He only seemed to realize mid sentence- “he was a child… preying on a child.”
Seeing old footage of Jim Bob and the Duggar girls discussing the “rules” they have to follow like no dancing/“shaking body parts” so they don’t “stir up desires” hits different knowing everything we know now.
E.g. they blame themselves, (just like they were taught)and caused Josh to be tempted and molest them.
you can only imagine how many times their parents used that exact wording. Those girls were absolutely parroting what they'd been told.
Exactly.
I thought Jen was lip-syncing at first and not actually singing so I was like "why the hell did Josh sing like that at his wedding"
Watch the original, Jenn's not far off. Probably close to a copyright infringement again. 🤣
@@Barribam Yup, you're dead on, it was for copyright purposes. 😆 And yeah, I love it when Jenn sings. Her cover of "Love you like the rain" is iconic.
😂😂😂
Sorry but your covering the songs that had to be omitted for copyright reasons is literally giving me life right now 🤣🤣🤣
The commentary on “my daughters watch the calendar like a hawk” clip and the Mandela effect makes me want an episode about Duggar lost media because it reminds me of that rumor that Josiah ran away crying about the announcement that Michelle was pregnant with Jubilee. So many people claim that happened but no one can find a clip of it!
i could believe it!!
it would be incredibly stressful for kids who already don't get enough time, attention and likely basic necessities to pretend to be happy that another child they have to take care of (because the parents do not.
I remember that! JimBob went after him and dragged him back.
It's somewhere on r/DuggarsSnark. But idk where.
@@leslielousma7913 that's what I remember.
Her neighbors “stumbled in their marriage” because she wore a bikini? SOMEONE has an ego… And can I just say how annoying Michelle’s whispery little voice is?
you absolutely KNOW she doesnt talk like that when outsiders are around💀
It's SO incredibly grating to have to listen to
you're SO right about the voice, every time I meet a woman who talks like that I just know we won't be friends, I'm sure some of them are nice but they're almost always fundies and I just can't stand it as someone with misophonia. Half the times it goes into whispers or unintelligable, and often has that really sharp s, it just drives me up a wall
his marriage probaly wasn't very strong in the first place.
she sounds like a cartoon mouse
I wanna know how Jana and Jessa knew what "love marks" were at the time of josh's wedding. Does Michelle walk around with hickies?
good observation. that along with the girls apparently knowing when michelle was pregnant even before she did implies that she shared waaay too much.
he molested them
I always thought they went like lipstick marks 😂 not me being innocent
I’ve never watched Marriage Bootcamp but the “you got a lot to learn daddy” is going to be my new tagline for sure.
I’d bet my left liver if anyone who Josh was with that wasn’t Anna got pregnant he’d suddenly really be researching “the abortion”😭😂
"Unethical internet journalists" sent me! But seriously, Jen: you and James are such class acts. Perfect examples of how to critique in a hilarious way while taking the high road.
They’ve literally made me a better person by taking the high road 😭
Is she referring to Kathy? 😂
@@sayhello5377 yeah I think they are talking about Katie and I don’t think she’s a journalist at all lmao she’s just giving her opinion
@@sayhello5377 prob Katie joy from Without a Crystal Ball.
Agreed, especially I am watching this after watching the recording of CC Suarez's livestream from last night (who went over the most recent legal issues woacb is experiencing)
The fact that she has to specifically say the prayer room shouldn't be used for school work just underlines how busy that house is.
The pictures of the girls helped me to better understand how young they were. It helped put it in perspective to me. Thank you.
I find it ironic that jinger’s husband calls Catholicism demonic when a lot of Italians tend to be catholic and he is of Italian descent
That was my first thought like what would his nonna think of him!
Jeremy's ancestors, probably: *furiously turbo spinning in their graves*
I never expect these people to know what they're talking about
Dude really was gonna out himself as a criminal in that clip right before his wedding, huh? "Yeah, I think I learned all that from -" rapidly cut off by his father. Absolutely fascinating choice to leave it in.
Pregnant twice while on the pill? She surely must not have understood how to take it correctly.
I got pregnant while on the pill...turns out antibiotics does cancel its efficiency.
@@kathleentremblay2979 that's how I got pregnant on the pill too. Nowadays antibiotics come with a label that warns you about this, but at the time I didn't know.
@@kathleentremblay2979 oo I didn't know that, I'm glad I saw this comment!!
Jen singing "Pony" is everything with the clip LOL!
Right i was dieing laughing
I replayed it like 3 times it was so funny.
I have to say, I'm tickled that Jessa Seewald named her son Spurgeon. I'm of Appalachian heritage and my father was named Spurgeon. Family called him "Spud"
Okay wait that’s such a cool nickname!!! I’ll bet your dads great 💙
there's a player in the nhl named Jared Spurgeon and that's all i can think of when i hear the name. love the nickname spud, that's truly adorable 💜
Beats the hell out of Jessa’s nickname for her son, Spurgie 🤢
I recently moved to the south, my partner is of Appalachian heritage, and it's been so interesting learning about Appalachian culture! The names, medicine, food, traditions are all fascinating. It definitely does not get the respect it deserves in other areas of the country.
Appalachias are an old, old group of people. I’ve rarely seen a more detailed yet secretive culture before and it’s endlessly fascinating. I can understand why they’re untrusting of the outside world though.
I think having a designated quiet place in a house with so many kids would be so essential to everyone not just fucking murdering each other.
Yeah but with Josh I'd be worried
The Duggars have a "prayer closet" in their current house. Michelle mentioned in an old interview it's where the children go for quiet time to pray or something like that.
It's amazing that you forget how many Josh incidents there were till you hear them all together.
Does anyone else burst into laugher when Michelle says "protecting young girls" in the interview as if she didn't aid and abbet josh
I don’t know if Michelle is REALLY qualified to talk about any kind of protection…..
My first boyfriend in high school dumped me because our Great Pyrenees puppy literally ripped his jeans off his body.
@@leebird9023 oh my god, well that's a great story for both of you. a dog with a purpose.
23:15 *When I hear “prayer closet”, my mind goes immediately to the creepy shrine closet from the original “Carrie” movie.*
Whenever she felt Carrie needed to get right with the Lord, her mother would command that she “Go into your closet and pray!”, thereby dragging her kicking and screaming to the cramped cupboard, locking her therein for hours at a time while she screamed and cried until she finally relented and gave in to the unwavering heavenward gaze of the terrifying plaster rendering of Jesus upon the crucifix lit from below by unnecessarily creepy red candles.
*”EVE WAS WEAK! EVE WAS WEAK!”*
Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie were absolutely iconic as Carrie (NOT Cassie 😤) White and her unhinged and delusional mother, Margaret.
They think they’re not and they judge women in other cultures who truly are second class citizens in those cultures, but deep down they know that they are in Christian culture and they hate that and they’re angry about it and they project that
My mind goes to Chad and Lori Daybell and their portals in their closets lmao
Exactly where my mind goes. And that super creepy crucifix jesus with the glowing eyes.. 😆
It had the same storyline in the book as well. Creepy as hell!
Jen's fundie sing-a-longs bring joy to my cold little heart.
HAPPY FUNDIE FRIDAYS, JENNONITES!! 💜🎉🙌
Right back at ya! 💜🌻🏳🌈
And may Marshal bless you!

I love these director's cuts! I like the format so much that I hope some other channels I watch will do something similar with older content. I love rewatching "oldies but goodies" and the extra bonus commentary makes it so perfect.
it keeps me invested, great for short attention spans
Obsessed with the Kirk Cameron poster. He lived near my aunt in the early 2000s and I saw him jogging around the lake where they lived while we were gathered for my Great Uncle's funeral. Needless to say despite the somber situation I started freaking out because I was OBSESSED with Growing Pains LOL.
Jen made a video about him, I think you should watch it. He is... pretty out there xd
I definitely remember Michelle saying her daughters know when she's pregnant before she does..... they're scary people in my eyes
This Dugger video was how I found the channel, it's like watching a movie you haven't seen in a few years and bring back memories from when you first watched it
Your rendition of "Pony" with that clip is perhaps the best thing I'll have seen on the internet this week. I have watched it about five times. 😜😜
ikr, i want a whole version.
I was giggling at Jen’s singing and simultaneously feeling a burning sensation in my eyes at the clip. 😂
Yess! I love this comment 😂🤣🤣
Lol I love that you’re singing to avoid copyright bs. Nice work. I especially enjoyed your rendition of pony
A lot of survivors of life in the FDLS have said it was a sex and fertility cult. I think that applies to IBLP.
I want that questionnaire to leak so bad - the girl defined one was absolutely hilarious
the re releases are even more fun to look forward to just for the updated commentary! when you don't even care that you're basically watching a vid twice because it's double the jen
You were right, it’s a death trap. Using a car seat like that without the base (or coordinating stroller it clicks into) can cause positional asphyxia - the base that goes with it makes sure it’s at the right angle to prevent the danger but without the base children have died in them.
I’d like to request a livestream of the wedding ceremony between you and James, where you do a duet of The Loyalty Song
Me also. I want this. I need this. I crave this. My deepest desires want this.
I could die happy just thinking of this
Yes!!! 🤣
I'm a survivor of COCSA and for me, if people are willing to listen and learn, I appreciate it
+
Omg, the snoop
Dog voice-over was the very best thing I have ever seen of the Duggar’s
“I’m glad that Jill wears pants and takes her kid to school.” Me after leaving Pentecostalism
Josh Duggar being an accident is just so…. painful to think about
No self-pleasuring in the prayer closet!!😉
You 100% know that happened.

Love these. OG jennonite here. Thanks for getting me through deconstruction, Covid, and now long Covid. 💕
When you started singing my pony to them kissing I absolutely died. This might be my new favourite channel
Yes! She is absolutely amazing! I died!
I'm screaming over not knowing what the 'officially court me' joke is. I grew up on early 2000s internet and thought i knew all the dirty things!!!! Love the directors cuts!
11/10 on your rendition of the Loyalty Song 😂 😂 Any plans to sing it to James at your wedding? 🎤 🎶 ꒰⑅ᵕ༚ᵕ꒱˖♡♡˖꒰ᵕ༚ᵕ⑅꒱
😆
I think it needs to become a mandatory practice at all Jennoninte weddings.
You're such a flippin rockstar Jen. So glad we have our Fundie Friday's back, we need good journalism
the first video I watched from you was the original duggar video! I'm so glad your channel was recommended to me, you and James always make me smile on a Friday!
Every time I hear "prayer room", I think of that room in the movie "Carrie"...
Your hilarious!!! "Does it look like I've run a marathon or a 5k?" "Can u imagine all that chafing???" 🤣
I need Jen to know that for YEARS now I have been using "ALLEGEDLY!!" in my daily speech
I am really enjoying these director's cuts with bonus commentary. Thank you for putting these together and I hope you'll rerelease more of your videos with bonus content!
Jessa’s video with the stroller is not surprising since she was homeschooled by a helpmeet
Right?! The baby carrier on the umbrella stroller is definitely not safe or sturdy.
Cheers to Jill who let's her boys dance after having to spout anti-dancing rehtoric!
Good for her!!!
Can I just say I love the juxtaposition of baby Jen in the beginning yellow makeup meme and mature, post-possible-channel-deletion Jen in the notes. They are both absolutely incredible but I love the glow up. ❤️
“I got sent a 50 page questionnaire and I sent it back at 105 pages” 😂😂😂😂
thank the lord for jen’s floating head, drifting across the screen. truly my favorite part of the video.
Can’t tell you how much it means to me that you consider the ethics and and tact around talking about these families
That's why I love them so much! Integrity & ethics are hard to find.. especially talking about American politics & religion.
Jen & James are amazing! I'm waiting for them to start their own 20 kids & counting. We need more amazing humans like them
Honestly, you singing Pony was everything I didn’t know I was missing today
The additional commentary… especially about the 5K/marathon 💀 you are SO FUNNY!!!
Her hair is so big bc it's full of secrets.....I'm obsessed with that! 😁 😂
"The Little Governor" sounds to me like it's referring to, uh, part of the governor.
I’m soooooooo thankful you sang the promise song instead of having to hear Josh.
