Financial independence is possible. When I was paycheck to paycheck it didn't seem possible. I got out of paycheck to paycheck by following YNAB's four rules. It has been life changing and am grateful for the program.
I'm going back through a ton of the whiteboard Wednesdays having just joined YNAB. They are great. This Jesse guy is a total philosopher
Started YNAB this month. Love it. Got my initial money in bank and 1st of 2 bi-weekly paycheck to cover my expenses so far, but I’m almost out now with more expenses until next paycheck. This is hard, but hopefully I can get to a point when I can plan a whole month’s budget on day 1 of the month.
This is exactly what I need. I'm finally at a financial point where I'm paying bills, paying down debt (only $600 left in credit card debt, then the rest is all mortgage/student loans). Figuring out how to balance saving ahead, paying down bills, while not putting myself in an impossible situation wrt spending money is definitely my biggest challenge right now!
We happened to start using YNAB just a month or so before tax returns. That made breaking the cycle easier because we only had to keep ourselves from spending that money on other stuff.
I love the suggestion about a sprint. I started that just to give myself breathing room and after many false starts I used the YNAB goal options to set a tight goal of building my first BEF. July it will be complete and I am very happy! Then to refocus on debt!
Working retail for 21 years I've never lived paycheck-to-paycheck I was always able to put money in a 401K Roth IRA and liquid savings while having a mortgage and car payment but I also never carried any credit card debt I knew the difference between a want and a need and I saved for those things didn't buy new clothing shopped at thrift stores and garage sales buy only markdown meat and try to find other markdown food items I've always been one of those people that have kept a good-sized stockpile didn't need to rush out and buy toilet paper when pandemic hit like a lot of other people and in the two years since I still have not bought any toilet paper.
My only income from the last two years has been Social Security I don't get a work pension or anything from my ex-husband and out of that Social Security I am still able to put a set amount into savings every month so I think I am doing great
Another concise WW. Keep up the good content.
Thanks for another great video Jesse. How is this different than saving a Buffer? Can 'making the paycheque' count toward the buffer?
Cool little video.
Love your videos. Super helpful.
I want your hoodie, Jesse.
Good stuff! Thanks.
you know what my biggest concern today is ? That some how YNAB would stop offering their service. Literally would not know what to do without the service.
We're not going anywhere! :)
Im new to YNAB . is it really that good
@@mikeg7430 yes it is! I'm also new, have about 3 months now and have done so many changes...
When is the YNAB online store being launched? Are the YNAB hoodies for staff only? Ha ha (sort of)
What exactly are the 5 steps?
