Im Wald, Im Grünen Walde + Lyrics
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 вер 2024
- Im Wald Im Grünen Walde is a German folk song about a woodsman and his daughter living in the forest. The song is also sometimes referred to as "Lore, Lore, Lore," or "Lore, Lore."
This video is a sing-along video for Im Wald, Im Grünen Walde, a German folk song, which was also sung by German soldiers in both World Wars.
The English lyrics within this video are not a direct translation, but instead a singable version from here: www.deviantart...
The painting used in this video is "Forest Landscape with Deer" by
Heinrich Böhmer (German, 1852-1930)
Please note that despite being sung by soldiers of the Wehrmacht, these songs themselves have innocent meanings (look at the translations!), and have nothing to do with the Nazi party, and as such, should not be taken down.
Disclaimer: The English translation in this video is not a direct translation. It is a singable translation, meant for English speakers to sing along with

Hey Dr. Ludwig, I love your channel!
OMG this is the legendary Dr. Ludwig, who did the "This is Germany" video!! You have no idea how much that video ment to me. We live in a time where more and more people dont appreciate or even hate our country and your video reminded me how beautiful Germany really is. It brought back the appreciation and love for my country and ill go on a big camper-tour through Germany this summer because of your video. Ill be visiting some of the cities and landmarks you where showing in the video. Thank you very much!
That they do. Good to see you around still, Dr.
Big love to Germany from another European. You're crazy and annoying but I deeply love you and your language. Don't be ashamed, be proud of who you are.

Back in the 1960’s I bought an LP record of marching songs by the Band and Chorus of the Bundeswehr’s 2nd Panzer Grenadier Division. This one was my favorite. So, I have known this song now for about 60 years. You could buy those records here in the United States back then. I think the title of the album was “Der große Zapfenstreich.“ It contained the Hohenfriedberger March, Erika, Der gute Kamerad, Schwarzbraun ist die Haselnuss, usw.
Years later when I taught German in an American high school, my classes were popular with very energetic boys, who liked to sing these songs with gusto on Friday afternoons. We‘d sound very loud with good tenors and basses. Then the French teacher across the hall would slam her door shut with a bang, but the kids would keep right on singing.

How’s the relation between Czechs and Germans? I heard not so good, or is that just old fashioned thinking
@@magical5181 it's ok. Some of my relatives live in Germany. Most of the people in Czechia aren't nationalistic or even patriotic, we just don't much care about some national revenges in history. I think most people think that Germans are rich and that they have a terrible language, but it's not really a negative thing, we just make fun of it
@@lmaocetung ah I see, in history I think the Czech were very patriotic right? Because I think you guys were forced to speak German.
@@magical5181 after the Munich agreement and the 1968 invasion. We kinda stopped caring, because nobody ever helped us, and any kind of bravery was crushed. I personally am not a patriot, I find the idea of being proud because someone else achieved something in a place you happened to be born, stupid and tribal. I don't agree with the apathy some Czech people have, but I agree with not being patriotic. I believe in freedom and democracy, and I think the Idea of a nation causes more bad than good

I really like the "Fair are the maidens who live without a care!" proposed translation. Sounds better than the original text. More poetic.
When you’re a Frenchie doing some casual hunting in the Ardennes forest and you hear Ti-ra-ra-la ~
Knowing some German, the one line that jumped out to me was "Fair are the maidens who live without a care!" Because it's very literally not that xD
The line means:
"Seventeen, eighteen year old girls are pretty."
,,Maiden,, means a young girl. So its technically a right translation.
@@razdvatri9598 my point is that "who live without a care" isn't in there. If you wanted to tweak the subtitle you'd get something like, "Fair are the maidens of seventeen, eighteen."
Sorry for the confusion about this video, but the translated lyrics are indeed not a direct translation, but instead a singable version from here: www.deviantart.com/bluteisen/art/Im-gruenen-Wald-Lore-Lore-Lore-English-Lyrics-618173633
@@CarlRendar ...but isn't that to be expected with singable translation?...
...it can be difficult, in translating a song, poem, or even just plain written text, the intent, theory(or rather, concept) of the word or material being translated...
...for example, the German word "stimmung" is somewhat difficult to translate into English; no single English word is it's corollary, and even if there were, wouldn't the context of the word change depending on the sentence it is used in?...
... a few friends and associates of mine, some native German speakers, and some who actively study the German language, tell me that stimmung can be translated as 'mood' ...but that's not quite exactly it...
...and then a short conversation ensues about which string of words in English best describes what exactly 'stimmung' is trying to convey...
..."good times in a group at the nightlife" is one such example...
... according to a regular customer at a nightclub I worked at (she came to America from Germany) we might be able to consider the phrase "party peak" a fair explanation of what the word means...
...her friend offered that "white hot moment" might be a better explanation; that specific time to "strike while the (branding) iron is hot" -or that time when things all come together in a group endeavor or activity...
...in all these examples, it can be seen how 'mood' would come into it, and be associated with 'stimmung' in translation, but somehow not quite on the mark...
