Absolute classic! In my opinion the Photek remix is better than the original and I don't say that lightly ! There's not many remixes I can think of that do the original justice let alone surpass it ! Peace out 🙏
@@1jkbl I disagree. This sort of stuff is timeless, plain and simple. LPs like Timeless, Industry, Molten Beats, and cuts from guys like Photek, Source Direct, LTJ Bukem...the list goes on. So much of it carries a unique spirit removed from a particular point in time. Yes, the tone and samples sound dated. But the ideas, techniques, creativity, just give it a vibe that doesn’t quite conform to our standard notions of where we feel it should fit in the greater timeline of music. And dnb and jungle has always been here since it started, it just lost the mainstream appeal it once garnered. You still get the odd jump up or liquid tune that finds its way into the periphery of the mainstream, perhaps catching a glint of the limelight, but it hasn’t been on that level of being a cultural sensation like when Goldie gave it a face in the mid-90s, or when Source Direct was getting signed by Virgin Records.
Magic in these old tracks is because everything what you hear from this song is sampled from different music (jazz, blues etc.) not from plugins like a nowadays
@@settebello_asrdj fabio who with dj grooverider basicly invented jungle at the nightclub rage in London in the early nineties. Without fabio and grooverider we wouldn't have drum and bass. Peace 😊📀📀👌
Reading the new book about Marcus (title same name as this tune). This track is heavily featured and a massive inspiration to loads of household names ❤❤😎
This tune has that certain feel to it which you can’t really explain, it resonates deep inside you. RIP Marcus Intalex and big ups both him and ST Files, wicked producers
Marcus always brought the depth of soul to DnB. Always picked the best selection of samples and of course there are so many layers of intricate sounds and programming for the listener to enjoy with each visit.
it's the era too, it creeps in... when you hear the old liquid funk (Carlito and Addiction, Primary Motive, Fellowship etc) it has a bit of the same haze, but this has the MCR X factor too.
Damn Marcus! Manchester will never be the same without you 😢 a proper selector, always made sure there was a night for us in North since 90s... downstairs in ebloc on a Saturday. Dedication for the music we call jungle. Marcus XTC ST files, Da INTALEX forever
R.I.P. My friend. Shocked to hear the sad news tonight and had to come and play this. We used to rock it down at DOPE... you were an inspiration, a pioneer, a legend!!! x
One of my favorite masterpieces from such a pioneer in the underground dance scene. Devastated to hear of Marcus intalex/Trevino passing 😔 you will be missed brother. R.I.P
I’ve been into rave, hardcore , jungle dnb as the music evolved. Brought vinyl since 93 but more heavily from 97. Stopped buying new vinyl around 2002 (and then started again around 2013). With that context this is one of the more modern dnb tunes that I always come back to. Smooth, soulful but heavy with the drums and bass. RIP to Marcus Intalex; this timeless tune will live on.
I discovered this on the second Drum And Bass Arena 15yrs podcast. And omg did I full in love with this straight away. Late night vibe. Atmospheric. A piece of tune!
54 year old break beat soldier here and original old school raver. I was at swerve the night fabio first dropped it. Omg liquid before it was called liquid. 21st century soul music my friend. Peace to ya

Marcus Intalex basically invented the 2000s liquid sound that we all know. Never forget

@@MarkCordial-d4y listening now. EPIC. Can’t believe that one passed me by 🤔
So ahead of his time...20 year old track that sounds like it easily could’ve released today.
Not really though. I think it's not necessarily a bad thing but it makes it sound timeless 👌

Broke my heart when i heard the news, now Daddy Randall aswell and all the fallen soldiers, what a contribution ❤
Very important song during a time when a lot of D&B fans were completely fed up with the direction off the genre
Can you tell us a little bit more about this?
@@mrgurbic1492 I think they mostly mean the mainstream stuff at the time. I'm not too sure about dnb though - im more into jungle.
Well i heard this on dub
