The watch that they are wearing is probably just like the wrist watch humans wear to be able to know what time it is in other countries during the hour in which we are in at the moment. For example being able to look at the watch that says it's like midnight in America but when you look at the watch, you're able to calculate the exact time all the way on the other side of the world, such as at Heathrow, airport in London at that time. Same concept applies here, only their wrist watch is probably keeping track of the time in different galaxy's or on different planets. Such as their home planet of Nebbaru.
