Whoah ! This language is beautiful. It flows extremely well. I’m Gaelic Scottish and I’m not lying but this is one of the most simplistic languages to learn and pronounce and I really struggle trying to learn languages, especially trying to pronounce properly. Swahili is almost poetic, your mouth feel smooth and it rolls off the tongue very easy. It’s almost like it’s the perfect language designed for the human mouth. I’m glad my curiosity lead to me to look up the language. I’m now invested into learning. Africa has beautiful cultures that are vibrant. It’s weird how much I’m drawn to it and one of the languages. Amazing! Going to keep learning so I can communicate with my African Muslim brothers as I will be able to practice with them and they will tell me if I’m doing bad or doing good. Amazing language, Subhan’allah

Even though Romanian is a latin language and has nothing to do with Swahili, I found that it was very easy to remember and pronounce words - and vice versa, Kenyan people could pronounce words in my language easily! I really want to learn Swahili more than ever before, now that 15 more countries in Africa have adopted Swahili as their language. I think it's very important for black people in the diaspora and and Africa to have a common language besides the one you already know. It makes you more valuable around the world if you were to come to America you would have to learn Spanish to work at some companies, could you imagine being born and raised in a English speaking country but you can't work certain jobs because you can't speak Spanish. That gave Spanish people priority when hiring which is a good thing for their people if black people around the world learn one common language you can use that to empower your people when it comes to hiring practices. That's if Africa become successful in its quest to be one powerful country not a bunch of countries in one continent.

Not once you realize that the grammar of every single word you use depends on which of the 12-13 ingelis (grammar groups) they belong to. A word like "glass" can belong to any group and requires no distinction. I've learnt it in school in kenya and everyone had trouble with it. Not to disappoint you though. Anyone who had seen tougher languages might find it simple.

Have found this page after my 8 year old has expressed an interest in learning Swahili. Have not lived in Kenya for 20 years but I understand it’s spoken dialect and can carry a several words. I envy the Spanish, Polish, Slavic, Russian, Chinese, as they speak their full languages to their children from day one, and so they grow up being bi/trilingual while abroad. We can do better as Africans.

in my cp i was a lifeguard at dakl (animal kingdom lodge) and we used a lot of swahili, not only in naming areas of the resort. like kidani village and jambo house but we also used phrases in swahili when interacting with guests, quickly followed up in english tho. it was a cool way of theming and the kids especially enjoyed it. theyd come up and say them back to us later in the day or days later. like, we'd say asante sana after we asked a guest to do something, which is like saying thanks a lot

The way you teach is very good visually as i can hear it and read it at the same time, i can get the tone, and like someone said in these comments it literally rolls off the tongue. I'm deffo gonna be watching and learning AND enjoying myself until I've mastered it!!! Thank you very much again 'Asante sana' learned from yesterday and written without help
