I disagree. Wu doesn't put out the same quality they used to. There are better ones today. A new Kendrick Lamar album, or a new Run The Jewels album, is probably going to be better than a new Wu Tang album. Their last few group albums haven't exactly been top tier quality. 8 diagrams was, from what I remember, quite forgettable. A Better Tomorrow was ok... But not many reasons to go back to it.

But is it? Plenty of artists release top quality music decades after their debut. I don't think many Wu fans would consider recent Wu albums to be top tier hip hop music. It's mediocre at best. Personally, I am more excited for their solo efforts. These days, they are better as solo artists than as a group.
I'd say Kendrick Lamar is one the best rappers of all time. His last album had some great tunes. Humble is awesome, and he's pretty great live too! Which, unfortunately, is rare in hip hop. In my experience, rappers tend to play their music and mumble the lyrics along to the song playing, together with five other random people on stage. Before you say it... This includes both older artists AND newer artists.
What's wrong with Run The Jewels? They are amazing and have been extremely consistent with their quality.
We're not talking about releasing something that wasn't great. When was the last time Wu released an album that was great? It's been at least twenty years, hasn't it? Overall, I think Beastie Boys is the best in hip hop. The reason for that is because of how consistent they were, quality wise, for thirty years. They were also very innovative, always doing something new on their albums AND their live performance. (Innovation in both areas is something hip hop could use more of. I'm including both old and new artists.)

Rem, Solomon Childs, and Street Life still sound great. Under appreciated rappers for sure. Wu had some real talent under the umbrella that went under the radar. If you look at the track list of the remedy album it looks like an effort that would have been put out for a main Wu-Member back in the 90s, the crew really showed up for Rem.
