    Dr. Moran you are a Great Dr in knowledge, understanding, compassion & commonsense. If I had you as my Dr I would be truly blessed but I am afraid I have to see NHS drs in the UK which is quite a different matter. You have to do your own research then which I get from good sources on the internet with Google, even the NHS website! With 5 mins of time when you visit & things so rushed you just get more ill if you don't direct or constantly push. And with a recent experience in the same hospital, I am afraid I have to say it was not much better than useless. Even you would be totally shocked & appalled at the wrong treatment that nearly killed me, seeing virtually no drs, bad nursing care for the most part. I was glad I survived but I will not go to that Hospital as an emergency again - I would rather die at home. 4 different discharge letters all could not say the correct reason why I went into Hospital, what was wrong with me & what the cause of it was! Had to leave with a letter all wrong of why I went in, stating I had 1.5 litres of Normal Saline IV which they failed to give me & was so desperately needed. Then they restricted my fluid intake by so little when I was already so dehydrated. This was done by guess work, no measuring, no chart. I was given even less & have never been so thirsty in my life & I was not even eating.. You wouldn't even think some of the drs or nurses were qualified. Things have gone really downhill since I qualified as an RGN & it is not to do with money.

    I'm sorry, Dr. Moran, that the first reply to your excellent presentation was a negative one. It is indeed difficult to find people who have actually studied and pursued critical thinking and the scientific method. This is the reason the world is upside down and public schools are so poor at teaching. When the first thing a commenter presents is ad hominem name calling, you know you can discount most of what follows. This is "Beginning Debate 101". Name calling is what you use when you don't have anything constructive or useful to say. Dr. Moran, you are a sparkling, refreshing oasis in a desert wasteland of garbage and useless information. PLEASE keep sending us your wisdom and knowledge! The world needs thousands more like you! Thank you!

      I agree, idk why people make these claims, well maybe because it doesn't fit the narrative they have of the world, so whomever stands in their way is not an opportunity to learn but a threat to be destroyed? Personally I've never seen Dr. Moran make illogical speculations, he's always been presenting the data to us and giving analysis of it from his vast experience in the medical field. I'm so happy I have someone like him to explain me things when mainstream media doesn't, Thank you indeed Dr. Moran for helping a lot of people including myself.

    • @MedicinewithDrMoran
      @MedicinewithDrMoran  Рік тому +1

      Diet needs to be individualized. There's no question the low-carb diet is very helpful for most people to lose weight and is based upon numerous studies but pushing a single diet for solving all of your health problems is not responsible practice. Many people on the Internet are not physicians or even if they have medical background do not see patients and so they have no experience with what they're actually saying.

    Great advice, Doc! And since you mention proper diet among the key factors for good health, may I ask what your opinion is on intermitent fasting? A doctor friend of mine tells me there is even a study published by the NEJM that supports the diet. As someone who does plenty of physical activity, I wonder if such a diet would decrease my energy levels and thus have a negative impact.

    I agree that clinical experience is important when dealing with sick people, but what about those of us who are healthy and don't ever see a doctor? If I want to learn how to prevent disease, I don't think a doctor who only deals with diseased people is the best source of information.

    • @JoshBenware
      @JoshBenware Рік тому +1

      A Dr who deals with diseased people probably knows more about how those people became diseased. That knowledge is helpful to us. Who else would you trust for info on how to prevent disease? A chiropractor?

    • @aolsonx1
      @aolsonx1 Рік тому +1

      @@JoshBenware I am thinking of someone like those who work with athletes with the sole purpose of keeping them healthy. I guess you could say that this is a type of clinical experience that is important. What I disagree with is the idea that someone who works with unhealthy people all day can translate that knowledge into working with healthy people. And although I shouldn't waste my time addressing your strawman, I don't think anyone should take advice from chiropractors.

    • @JoshBenware
      @JoshBenware Рік тому +1

      @@aolsonx1 what does a person who only works with healthy people know? They work with people who present no problems to be fixed. It's like saying, "I don't want to have a mechanic work on my car. They only know about cars with problems. I'd rather get advice about my car from a dealership oil change technician, cause he has experience with cars that are new and maintained".

    • @aolsonx1
      @aolsonx1 Рік тому +2

      @@JoshBenware I don't think you understand the point I'm trying to make about prevention. You are correct that I would not want a mechanic to work on my car if there was nothing wrong with it. I seek car advice from people who never or rarely go to the mechanic because they know what preventative maintenance is and they can fix most car problems without an "expert". I actually have a 1997 pickup with 215,000 miles on it and it's never been to the mechanic. I take care of it and I fix the minor problems that it has. If there was anything major wrong, only then would it go to the mechanic (or the junkyard). It's the same with doctors. You don't need a doctor to tell you what it takes to be healthy, but you definitely need one with a major illness.
      I will state my initial point again: I am a healthy guy and I don't feel like a doctor who treats unhealthy guys is the best source of information for me. Right or wrong, I will continue to value the health advice from healthy people who show me how they stay that way and how they help others stay that way. That's not to say that I don't listen to doctors. I just don't think their clinical experience is all that valuable to me.
