This Song/Short Film of “Stranger In Moscow” is a freaking masterpiece and I just love it I love the whole entire HiStory album cause it’s truly his most autobiographical album ever and the fact he wrote this in 1993 in Moscow in his hotel room while dozens & dozens of fans were outside of his hotel screaming his name yet he felt like the loneliest human being on earth while on his Dangerous World Tour it’s so sad and yet genius MJ bared his mind, body & soul into this track right here this is art the esthetic of the Music Video is just phenomenal Long Live The King Of Music The Greatest Music Artist To Ever Live! Michael Joseph Jackson🥺🙌🏽👑🖤💕🌧✨(And the fact the media/critics ridiculed him for his humanitarian works and impact on music in general surpassing/breaking Beatles, and Elvis’s records it makes me upset but MJ was also a strong man he was once quoted anyone who would’ve been in my shoes would have ended it all and that’s the absolute truth MJ was and will always be Innocent he was so misunderstood as well definitely the most misunderstood artist of all time! Btw Please React to Michael Jackson “Blood On The Dance Floor” Short Film/Music Video)
You have fame and then you have MJ fame. No one could ever walk in MJs shoes for 5 mins and he was the most famous man on earth for 45 years. This is the first song that I saw on TV after the announcement he died (remember the weeks and weeks of coverage) and not ashamed to say I wept. Think the entire world wept...he was loved the entire world over.
Even think about this song makes me tear up. You absolutely feel his pain and torment to the point that it becomes palpable. Such a masterpiece of music.
Video and song is about feeling alone and depressed...who cares if the cup falls...this girls reaction got on my nerves. Seems like she doesnt have a soul...the dude understands tho.
To me this is one of his heartfelt songs. This is when he was married to Lisa Marie Presley at the time. People were attacking their relationship left and right and Lisa couldn't take the pressure from the media. When he would be on the road, he felt lonely and he even expresses it in the lyrics. He said getting embezzled by my fame, Armageddon of the brain. That was deep cause he felt like he became a prisoner of his own fame that it made him feel lonely. This is one of my favorite songs from the History album.
I think the songs more about the fact he had thousands of people at his feet and doorstep (literally) every day, and everywhere he went... yet he felt alone. Also, I feel MJ never really grew up and/or felt he had his childhood robbed. Thats why he acted so child like and enjoyed kids so much. They reminded him of being innocent and young.
"uneasy lies the head, that wears the crown" w. Shakespeare Michael Jackson taught me that quote watching the wiz as a child .. not school. Michael showed me what that meant too. Smh. Most ppl want to be like or on MJ level and have no idea, can't carry or endure a drop of what he went thru. "Those who thirst for power are least best to acquire it" pharaoh seti 1st. Nobody should wanna walk in MJ shoes. He EARNED his throne and crown. He carried his cross like a man. He was the most lonelinest man in a stadium fit for 80,000-100,000 ppl. 5k ppl fainting every night ...kings and queens, elite presidents in awe of HIM. He had wealth ..fame BUT ALOT OF PRESSURE come with it. No one will ever achieve as he did..all those awards etc meant nothing because he ..they wouldn't leave let him be happy and enjoy his hard work.
in reality the song is about Micheal Jackson 1993 molestation case. child sexual abuse accusations...he was totally innocent! the man-child that refused to grow up! He was captivated by youth and innocence! Micheal Jackson was terrified of getting old!
Michael was in Moscow when he wrote this in his hotel room he was so lonely and the rain was falling he felt like he was alone , plus the part when he said "then a better boy call my name" he was speaking of the allegation and also when he said "KGB keep dogging me take my name & let me be" they were actually looking for him & I remember what country hid him and wouldn't say they have him he wanted to tell them just leave me alone take what you want but leave me alone
I think you mean 1997 because his HIStory tour started on September 7th, 1996. I know that you mean 1997 because my mom was there and is still remembering his Moves especially from that performance!!!
You've got to factor in the history/geology politics ..not to mention the literal cold climate of Russia. I think he beside ROVA sax quarter were some of the first western acts allowed to tour the USSR...I think it shows being very alienated. not a good place to be a stranger? Pends on who you meet. It's like being way out of your hood. But it taps into all that those Russians have gone through....long long long history... Siberia ballet Stravinsky....but where ever one maybe you can connect trace the liquid spirit in the sky. When there seems no hope...like you said slowed down, ones perceptions change and hince your awareness. You are past fight or flight. You are big inside...as are we all. People rush. Rushed pushed shallow. But when you look around I feel connected and what goes around cycles back but in that land of existential Kafka like ,,system of oppression...yeah nice spfx work too. It's shifts our attention or blurs it to see the forest thru the trees...fun watching you guys experience it. Thx.

Geniuses aren't understood by our bizarre culture. He was better than us and also destroyed by us.
