- Wow! This has been a HIGHLY requested video since my Samhain video back in October. I'm so happy you all contacted/commented at me to do this because I had a lot of fun chatting with you about the complete basics of what scrying is.
So let's chill out and cover the first several questions many ask about scrying and divination in general. What is scrying? What are the types of scrying? How do you interpret images in a reading? And how symbolism is so important in our practice. We're covering a lot so let's get into it!

When I thought of scrying I just thought it was looking into mirrors I didn’t realise I naturally have done many of these things like cloud gazing, looking into my grandmothers fire as a child and seeing things in the flames, looking into the water when washing up and seeing patterns etc...I need to look into this more because I’ve always done a form of it without realising thank you so much for this informative video xx

Also dreams are a form of scrying, especially if you fall asleep with an intention and goal in mind

In your example of the symbolism regarding the fox: both cultures examples sounds like they are indeed describing the same thing, but one seems to be more indicative of a positive use of these similar traits, while the other sounds like a deceptive use of the same traits. As you stated here: follow your intuition and take the message that most resonates to you.

When I was in highschool me and my best friend where doing a staring contest and she told me that she saw how she was going to die in my eyes
What does this mean?
I don’t know if this is true and I don’t want you to go off this but she was probably playing a prank on you. If she was, damn. That’s harsh.
But if she wasn’t pranking you, you have to dig deeper. Ask her what she saw more deeply. Then you will know what to expect

You're such a good nonbiased teacher! Meaning you don't tell us "this is what fox means" you tell us to use our own knowledge and backgrounds pertaining to foxes to let us know that everything is individualized. You don't push on us your way of practice. I love watching your videos! Keep up the good work!!
So my personal experience, with a previous crystal ball, was that I would rarely do any scrying. But I'd talk to it fairly often, hold and touch it, wipe it clean, and let it get full moonlight whenever possible. Never gave it a name, but I did give it it's own end table and space in my room. And a designated cloth to cover it during daylight hours.
I started noticing that I'd get visions and premonitions that would happen 90% of the time, within the next two weeks. I could tell what a card was before it was shown, I hit up a casino, leaving my ball at home, and I played blackjack so well they switched the decks out with a different one and I had a bad feeling, so I left.
My intuition was on fire, on point all the time, I knew where to be and when, everything. I was much more empathetic towards people as well.
Plus my cat, and orange tiger stripe, whom I'd had since he was a kitten, was also incredibly intuitive.
I don't know if the ball was helping me in some way, or acting as a conduit between me and my cat, but after I had to put down my cat, and i discarded my ball into Lake Superior (I had to, or an evil and very selfish person was going to get her hands on it, and I couldn't think of a better place to retire it) after that point, my abilities diminished significantly.
The difference was literally night and day. Idk if my cat was part of it or not, but that is my experience with my crystal ball.

Scrying is amazing and so enlightening. You can do it anytime. You just need to open up your mind and signs will pop up. Although if they dont that's fine. Not everyone connects to the divine in the same way!

@@ELheretik1351 well that's hard to say how. just let go of preconceptions. break down barriers. dont tell yourself that you cant see signs around you because you can and they are there. be. open. minded. as you would if youre having a conversation with someone with alternate view. be open to different truths
One of the things I love about your videos is your research is global. It’s important that our community is aware that the craft and practices exist around the world. As a heriditary islander with a mixed bloodline, I truly appreciate this. Oil on water, a version of Lecanomancy, is very much a kitchen witch thing to do 🤗 Mama use to do this. The African names you mentioned are, I believe, part of Santeria. Another great video!

I have a question for you. I am someone who is very interested in evocation magic beyond just Goetia magic. When I scry, metaphorical, symbolic, and allegorical visions and sounds resonate in my mind, or I see things through the black mirror. However, when it comes to obtaining specific knowledge from angels or demons (for example, the first demon of Goetia, Bael, is said to teach magic that makes one's body invisible to others), I believe I need to receive the knowledge in a literal and direct manner rather than symbolic messages. For instance, if Bael were to teach me a spell to make myself invisible, the instruction should not be symbolic but rather a clear and precise explanation of the ingredients and ritual process.
Moreover, I believe that to scry at such a level, I must enter a very deep trance state. If I continue practicing scrying, will I be able to eventually scry in the way I desire, where I can read future events that will literally happen or see details such as the appearance of my date without any symbolism? How can I develop my scrying ability to reach the level I seek? Are there cases where people scry future events that happen exactly as they are seen, without symbolic interpretation, and communicate with spirits in a direct, non-symbolic way?

I think I've done it with just my eyes closed. Seeing colors and swirling shapes
I scry on water i predicted pregnancy death and travels engagments and couples

Anyone else able to scry using their own skin? Ive also used bath towels or other textured fabrics. Textured and placid hard surfaces as well-- popcorn ceilings, wood grain, bathroom appliances, and grooved or smudged glass doors/windows. Also reflective store front windows at night have accidentally sucked me into an energy central station.
Note, I've never done any scrying on purpose. It's always been by accident ever since I was a kid.

Does your third eye need to be open?
If so, I may not be able to do this. I’m not sure my third eye is ready to open, I don’t want to push it.
It helps ALOT. Mine was open wide as a kid and I forced it shut, finally managed to open it back up this year and so much happier

When you look at yourself in the mirror if you picture energy coming out of your third eye it’s really helpful too! Saw some weird shit! LOL

I have observed the different symbolisms of a fox with a raven in nearly the same exact way. While being a symbol of cleverness and agility in Native American lore, it most commonly is perceived as a symbol of death.

Thank you for making this video, and this video really helps to have a clear definition of the word 'scry'. At first, I was not familiar with the word because its origin is either Old English or French it can be something of a puzzle.
omg i went straight to mirror gazing like months ago and dissociated. it wasn’t good i got lost in my eyes for like 20mins and then didn’t recognise myself fully or my room for a lil bit.
Hi so i dont know if im here for scrying, but i need to know about how to lock mirrors(i read that at night, mirrors are good portals for bad spirits to enter your space and i really dont want that)

Loved your video. I'm from Brasil and I understand some of the African divination you mentioned and I need to point out to you that the Ifá is actually a deity that will pass the message to the reader not through gazing but from reading the 16 (or 8 or 21) seashells that are "thrown" onto the Ifá reading circle.
Also during my mirror session my face turned into the shape of a panda and I’ve been seeing a lot of ladybugs in my house lately

The cloud one yes years ago I was sitting outside looking up at the sky and I saw this cloud with the image of my mom come forward and dissipate in the sky it kind of freaked me out but I started to feel lots of emotions and always wondered why I experienced that along with a lot of strange things since I was little. When I was younger my mom had the dream book and she knew about what certain numbers meant and other stuff and her obsession with nature and plants and guess what ? I turned out the same way .
