Fun fact, somebody actually made a Virtual Boy emulator for the 3DS called "Red Viper, and it actually utilizes the 3DS' 3D functions with the Virtual Boy games surprisingly well!
Definitely one of his better episodes! Actually, any episode where he covers consoles are usually pretty good. AVGN's at his best when it's a mix of comedy and informative stuff.
He did later do Jack Bros It's a spin off of Shin Megami Tensai where you play as Jack Frost Pyro Jack And one time new Jack based on Jack the Ripper It was essentially a maze game with the Jacks having different abilities
I've heard Jack Bros is the best game on the Virtual Boy, shame he couldn't play it. To my understanding, it's an Atlus game focused on their mascot characters Jack Frost and Jack o' Lantern/Pyro Jack. I don't think King Frost or Black Jack appear in it.
A company was trying to sell the tech. They then pitched it to gaming companies. Gunpei Yokoi(inventor of the Game & Watch and GameBoy), thought it would make for a fun gimmick. At some point, Nintendo knowing the N64 wasn't ready to come out for awhile, decided to take Gunpei's idea to make it into a fun little thing, and convert it into a full fledged, gaming device to fill in for the N64's absence.

How Wario Land VB was NEVER remade for 3DS STILL baffles me to this day.
