The first verse describes the anguish of my late teen years perfectly. I clung to this song and others like it to survive those battles. Thanks so much for posting.
Yes the verse fit real well for me also when hurricane 🌀 irma had us in her sights last September played this song many times over while I prayed and trusted God for protection, she pounded us hard for hours, but praise the Lord we made it with the roof still on!!!

We actually had Phil in our studio in Richwood Texas in 1987. He laid down a guitar part on a friends album. What an awesome night. I was lucky to get to video tape it.

I saw THE RIVER IS RISING TOUR in Birmingham AL. Kim Boyce opened for Greg... Her first album had just came out. It was a great concert, but hey I was a young guy back then, Kim Boyce was Gorgeous. Took me a while to get my focus back on the Spiritual after seeing her....lol

Can never get enough of Matthew Ward, and his actual ROCK song contributions are relatively rare. I believe he helped on Neal Morse's Testimony II album.
