I love that you keep the books from when you first read them instead of buying nicer copies. I have the first Hunger Games book in paperback even though Catching Fire and Mockingjay are both hardcovers. I thought about getting a hardcover of the first one, but my paperback is sentimental to me because I’ve read it so many times.
Jessica Myers: get both! That's what I'm doing. When Harry Potter came out, I couldn't afford the hardcovers, so I bought the paperbacks up until the release of The Half Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows. Recently, I've gone on a mission to fill out my collection. I found first printings of Prisoner of Azkaban and Order of the Phoenix at used book stores, and I splurged on the Collectors Editions of The Sorcerer's Stone, The Chamber of Secrets, and the 10th Anniversary Edition of The Sorcerer's Stone, on Ebay. I will still always keep my originals copies and those are the ones I'll re read and refer to. I also have the first paperback of The Hunger Games.
I was happy to see the Paige Shelton book on your shelf. I read all her books last year as I was preparing for a trip to Scotland. I do not own any of her books. I borrowed them from the library. We ow, your Mom got you started off right, with that Classics Collection. Also, a shout out to your aunt for giving you that fabulous chair. No need to refinish the arms of it. That's the patina of its history.
Same! I try to unhaul anything that I didn't really like, but books that I did like, I usually keep unless they're in bad condition because I get random urges to reread certain books even if they weren't my favorites.
Listen out of all of the booktubers I watch i real life relate to you the most!! Also congrats on the fast growth love it's Feb 27th now and you've doubled!!
Elizabeth Chandler has another series that is just as good as the dark secret series. Kissed by an Angel technically now has 6 books. But was originally released as a trilogy in the 90’s. The original three are definitely worth reading and if you end up loving it I would recommend continuing on to read all 6. You can usually buy the original trilogy in a bind up like dark secrets.
Paiging Through it’s definitely worth the read. I read the Kissed by an Angel series and looked for more to read by her and ended up finding the dark secrets one. Also it helps that all the books look super nice with their new black covers haha
that classic shelf is goals even though i dont read a lot of classics lol! Where did you get tehm from? I bet they cost loads. And that chair is amazing! I would want little women, Charles Dickens, Pride and prejudice and Jane Eyre i haven't read any of those yet but they're on the list
Holy cow those books on the left look so embellished and ornate. I love love looooove the owl on top :3 Do you know why all of those classic books have horizontal grooves on their spine? Does it have some sort of functionality or is it purely aesthetics?
When I saw Tales of but didnt see the rest of the title on that classics shelf for whatever reason I was still hoping it would say Tales Of The Peculiar. Edit: I see you do actually own Tales Of The Peculiar.
Your classics bookshelf is the most beautiful thing ive ever seen
Thank you, lovely! They really are something else. :D
I absolutely love the shelf that has your moms books! Classics are always so pretty!
Thank you!! I know, they're so gorgeous. Definitely a big difference between those books and my contemporary books XD
Imagine having family members who actually like reading books as much as you do ☹️ can't relate.
)): I'm sorry! This youtube family reads, so you're kind of part of this one, right? :)
Ur boyfriend is so sweet & supportive!
Yes he is! You are, too!!

I love that!! And I'm glad to hear that other people have sentimental attachments to physical books. I love my childhood books forever

I would love to visit Scotland so maybe I'll follow in your footsteps and read some Paige Shelton before I go one day!
Very beautiful Easton Press copies! I'm currently working on growing my Easton collection, too.
Thank you so much!! Yes, I'm looking forward to the day where I can say I have them all.
Your bookshelf setup is a dream come true 🥰
Aw- thank you!
that chair is the most amazing thing I've ever seen!!
I'll tell my aunt you said that!! I do love it a whole bunch.
I usually unhaul a book when I'm finished unless I love it and plan to reread it. The books I reread I reread at least once every few years
Same! I try to unhaul anything that I didn't really like, but books that I did like, I usually keep unless they're in bad condition because I get random urges to reread certain books even if they weren't my favorites.

I LOVE ❤️ the chair just as it is!!! I don’t think you have to refinish it. It looks so “bookish” the way it is!
Thank you, lovely!! I do like the way it looks! Very rustic and worn.
Listen out of all of the booktubers I watch i real life relate to you the most!! Also congrats on the fast growth love it's Feb 27th now and you've doubled!!

Thank you, my love!
Pottermore has always insisted I am a Slytherin, but I feel more like a Ravenclaw. So glad I'm not alone in that! lol
I know!! I just feel so much more Ravenclaw... like, I'm not even really that brave??
I gasped when I saw the shelf on the left ❤❤❤

Ooh! I'll definitely look into that series. I remember loving her writing when I was a young'n, so I have a soft spot for her. Thank you!
