DON'T OVERSPEND ON RV MODS 💰 (Full-time RV)

- Congratulations to Fernando Hernandez for guessing correctly - we currently use 49 3M strips in the camper!!
If it ain't broke, don't fix it 💯 But that doesn't mean you can't make improvements 😄 we have lived in our Grand Design Imagine 2600RB full-time for FOUR years now! Still can't believe that sometimes 😳
In those four years, we've made some upgrades and modifications to the camper - but we are big advocates of not spending a ton of money on the fancy stuff! It has taken us several years to make some of these mods, but they have definitely been worth it.

WOW we said "fantastic" WAY too many times! 😂

What are your guesses for the end question!? Write them down below! 👇👇👇
We are guessing 48 strips.
@@nicholasgreenman1984 thank you!
26 3m strips. Love your videos.
I bid $1! 😂 Actually, I will say 33 3M strips. 👍🏻
Loved this! Our guess for 3M strips is 30.
The light fixtures over your theater seats and dinette, are they factory? We have a 2020 2600RB and we have standard issue “trailer lights” we liked yours. Are they 12v?
Thanks for the great video. More please !! ❤️👍🏼
I have an ice maker like this that I use it in my clinic as an elementary school nurse. I no longer have to pull a cooler to the cafeteria and back every morning!
They're nice, right!? I'm so glad we're going into warm weather with one!
We have a toilet paper holder just like the one you have. Just a suggestion put it up on an angle, if not the roll will fall off every time you use it. Ours is permanent and can’t be moved. Stay safe.
Good idea, Linda! Thank you!
Great Video!
I just discovered you yesterday! Looks like you're having a wonderful time and providing a great service too! 🎉
Perhaps a better 3M strip metric might be how many feet of 3M Strips, hahaha!
But since you asked... inside and outside total... 70! 😅
Cheers, Eric
Hey, Friends! One thing you might think of with the T.P. holder is turning it vertically. I saw that on someone else's site and thought it was a cool idea I'd never thought of...whatever fits your space best. We love Command Hooks and the 3M Strips, as well. Jane in SC❤🙏 I keep thinking about replacing the window on the door like you did...it's on our list. My guess is 39.🥰
Hey, Jane! That's a good idea! I guess you wouldn't have to worry about the roll falling off either. Stay safe out there!
I concur! If you have the space to do it.
We mounted ours vertical, too. WAY more functional! TP doesn't fall off the roller. We have a different model of camper. But, I'd also suggest mounting the TP holder lower than usual. e.g. calf-height, I stead of toilet/rim height. our camper has a tight toilet closet, and mounting the TP lower makes things MUCH more hip-friendly and functional.
Hey Guys…..wow, those are some great mods y’all did. Thanks for sharing your ideas. Really love that desk y’all did. That’s very nice! We officially go full time next Thursday! Yay! We have a 26ft TT but hopefully we will be upgrading to a 5th soon. Love y’all’s videos and thanks again for sharing. Safe travels!
Our pleasure! That's amazing! Where ya'll headed first?
@@lifererouted At first we are staying close to home until we can find remote jobs or work camp, etc.
Love watching you guys! I’ll say 36 3M strips. We have a rescue named Fish. He camps with us too. We are shopping our first trailer and hope to hit some stops you’ve made in the near future. Travel safe!
Good guess, Steven! I LOVE that name! Never met a dog named Fish before! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing these are super practical up grades! I figure about 35 3M strips but it may be closer to 50! I love command strips, they are so handy and I always try and buy the mega pack! Seeing how well they are working in the camper full time is very encouraging! I need to get more so we can do more cool mods in our camper!
Mega pack for the win! Thank you, Jose!
Great advice kids! Thanks for sharing ❤️
Thanks for watching, guys! Hope you two are doing good ♥
After counting all the 3m strips in our rig we are guessing 46. Thanks for the tour. You should absolutely do an essentials video! Also we like the TP holder on the inside of the bathroom cabinet door.
Great guess, guys! The tp holder is probably not going anywhere anytime soon 🤣😆 we just keep going back and forth!
Love the video… you guys have gotten really good in your editing process!! Well done! 😃
Thanks so much! 😊
By the way, I’m VERY impressed with you nice your rig has held up to 4 years of full timing! Well done taking such good care of it. 😃
This is such a great channel. always have enjoyed watching your adventures and RV upgrades. I’ll guess 42 strips. We have a lot of them around our house as well. Great product. Take care. Look forward to your next video.
Thank you so much, you just made our night! ❤ They are a great product - we find ourselves using them all the time 😄 thank you!!
Thank you for sharing your ideas and mods with us. Based on the number of new RV sales last year I believe I am going to invest in 3M. I think you have about 61 strips mounted inside your camper. We put our batteries in our front storage compartment as well. We went with two 50 ah batteries. So far so good we have boon docked for four days at a time so far and our batteries never went bellow 84%. Of course we had our inverter generator with us just in case. Our latest upgrade, finished it today, is the MORyde CRE3000 equalizers, wet bolt and shackle kit along with three X Factor Performance cross-members. A lot of work but it was worth every penny! Our camper is less than a year old and we have only put a few thousand miles on it. But when I removed the factory shackles and bushings the nylon bushings were almost worn through. Keep safe and please keep those videos coming.
Probably a good idea! 😆 I've seen several people using the 50AH battery. Good/bad to know about the shackles, at least you caught it in time! Safe travels to you too, Wayne!
Love this video. Still counting down to our full-time adventure starting later this year. Your videos are so much fun to watch and so helpful. I’ve watched this three times and got so into your camper, lost count of your 3M strips, LOL. So I’m going to guess 60. Nice to see the beard is back. #teambeard
Thank you! We love hearing that! ♥♥♥ #teambeard
Nice video! We're not full time, but are seasonal. Got rid of our 5th wheel and bought a smaller couples trailer. 1st thing we purchased for it - an ice maker!!! at $4.00 a bag at our campground and local stores, it will pay for itself quickly (as long as it doesn't break)!!!!
Thank you! What rig are you guys in now? We are LOVING the ice maker!
We had a 2150rb for many years with the exact same toilet paper holder. I installed in inside the left lower cabinet door. Out of the way when walking around the bathroom (no banged up knees) and easy to reach from the toilet when needed.🙂
That's a good spot, Matthew! I'll have to consider that!
Just found your channel as I’ve been nonstop watching UA-cam in anticipation of getting an RV. I live in southern Indiana and I have to say, as soon as I heard you two speak I was like, “Where are they from? They sound like Indiana.” ☺️ So I sifted through and watched your intro video. Love your videos. You’re full of all sorts of good knowledge!
Awesome to hear! Love hearing from fellow hoosiers! Welcome to our channel 😀
Great video on “stuff” in your 2600RB. Liked the sliding shelves. I think that’s one of our to-do list items. Mattress I would put as essential though. I also think I’ll guess about 28 command strips. 😊
I love the slide out shelf! I can't remember where I bought it but it fit perfect. Thanks for watching!
Nice job on the video! I’m going with 42 3M strips because it is the answer to Life, The Universe and Everything 😀
Thanks, Ron!
Great video guys happy camping and safe travels
Thank you so much! Hope you're doing well, safe travels as well 😊
🙌 Another fun and informative video you guys!! We’re in a 2250RK and have many of the same upgrade opportunities. 👍
My guess on 3M strips = 39.
Safe travels!!
Glad you liked it, Will! I like that layout, it's one that I still consider upgrading to. Safe travels to you also!
I just found you both and love your videos! You are living my dream life😍 I am a 3M strip Rv addict also. I will say 68 strips!
Thank you so much Amy, we appreciate that!! Haha they're so handy!
38 Command Strips for the win. We put our TP holder on the inside of the door that goes under the sink. It's out of the way when not in use and we you are in there, simply open the door and BAM, TP. Also, love the bottle opener location. Thanks for sharing all of your upgrades with us.
Hey, guys! I've had several people suggest that spot. This may end up being quite the endeavor 😂
@@lifererouted incase it was unclear, the holder is actually attached to the inside of the door, not inside the cabinet.
For the toilet paper location, sit on the toilet and find the best place for both of you to reach.
I don't have a lot of shoes, but a slightly taller cut out would make a perfect place for the kitty litter box.
3-M strips. The first number that popped into my head is 27, but I'll bet you used more. :)
Jon in rural BC, Canada
I installed the thin shade window at the Myrtle Beach Rally, I put it in Upside down, So happy I did, I love that I can keep the upper part open and see out but still be reasonably "private"
We've seen some people do that, it's such a good idea! I'm not sure if I'd be tall enough to see out the top, it'd be up to Mike 🤣🤣
I installed the thin shade the same way. It’s very convenient. The rv should come with the thin shade installed.
I used the same on a rental home: Temporary shade on front door side light.
Great idea with the desk! 👍
Thanks!
Thank you for all the suggestions! We are guessing 36 strips! They are the best invention ever for RVs 😊
You're welcome! Thank you! I agree!
I have the same TP holder in my camper. It works fantastic. I'm right handed so I put it bowl level on the wall to the right of the toilet.
Great idea! Thank you!
When of if that Dyson ever dies take a look at the Tineco cordless vac. (I love cordless anything). I bought the next to the bottom of the line and it has been great! There are other good things I could say about it but I don't want you to think I am trying to advertise on your channel! I like watching you 3...keep up the good work!
Good to know! Thank you!
Loved the idea of the white board with the address on it.
It just helps remind me where we are! 😂
Love the videos I have a mini lite 25rbds and just got back pulling it on a 3000 mile trip. Had a blast I think y’all used 73 3m strips .
Awesome. Thank you!
RVLocks: Love ours, Mike the other thing great is Steph cant lock you inside the camper like OEM Locks, if you lock the latch on an OEM lock you cant open the door from the inside, RVLocks and Latch-it Locks you can still open the door from the inside if the handle is locked
That's true! They need to advertise that 😆 I'm more worried about getting locked out though 🤣
12- 3M strips..... Love the vlogs and safe travels and keep em coming.. Watching here in Michigan..
Thanks for the guess, Ryan!
love you videos! bought my first camper this week so excited! and I guess 33
Woohoo!! What did you buy, Tammy?
We were just looking at these model at our big RV show. Checks a lot of boxes. The new models now come with a hitch receiver for bike racks. That alone sold me! 😂
The towel hooks in the bathroom, is it safe to assume those are attached with 3M tape as well?
Treats for Calli!
77 command strips. Ice maker is almost a must. Enjoy your travels from a fellow Hoosier!
Thank you, Sean!
I sold my house in August, and I'm in my motorhome full time.
I love how enthusiastic and creative you guys are..👍
Thanks so much!!
Ok our guess is 40 3M strips! We have 2600RB as well so very fun to watch your upgrades!
Thank you, Bob! Love hearing from people with a 2600!
I say 67 3M strips. I use them all over my camper as well! I’m not full time in an RV but my daughter and I spend the entire summer (3months) visiting family and living in my Kodiak Ultra Lite 332BHSL.
They're so handy!! That sounds like a perfect way to spend the summer 🥰
Our guess is 57! We love those strips too. Oh, and the ice maker is a requirement! LOL!
I can't believe how may we've used 😂 and I am LOVING the ice maker!
Thanks!
Thank you so much!!! ♥♥♥
My guess is 67 3M strips! Congrats on 4 years in your RV Home. Safe travels!
Thank you Larry! We can't quite believe it's been 4 years already.
I had the exact same T-paper holder and it fell off the wall. I live in AZ and I can’t use anything sticky or the heat melts it and ends up falling off😢. Hope it works for you!
I’m guessing, 37 strips. My daughters gave me one of the jack covers, something I literally use everyday. I like that it keeps the pigtail out of the weather and a place to store the safety chains.-John
Glad to hear you love yours too! We honestly love having it, you're right about it keeping everything out of the weather and in place. Good guess, thanks so much for watching ❤
You are right, it's better to wait on a lot of things and figure out what your style is and what you really need....my guess, 39 3m strips.
Okay, thank you! We just hate seeing people spending so much and then not using their campers. I'd rather people use that money on RV spots!
Love your videos. My wife and I always look forward to your next video. Where did you get those spice racks in this video? I didn’t see them in your Amazon store.
I found it in your comments
Thanks so much! Hope they work out well for you!
Awesome stuff! I’m guessing 59
Surprised you didn’t mention the black stone lol.
🤣 well, that's a good point ❤
New to your channel I enjoy the the one I saw so far thank you. I’ll guess about 75 command strips. 😊
Thank you so much!
we just did the same thing recently same issue with the old toilet!
Hopefully we won't have to mess with it again!
Love the video. 85 3M strips.
Thank you so much! That's a lot, but they sure are useful!
Great video! Thanks for all the good info. I am guessing 127 strips :).
Thank you!
Hi we have had our camper 10 years 😮 we are starting to do some upgrades 1 thing we want to do is remove the couch & replace it & take our table out to.. can you send me the link for the front door window/ blind & the key less entry? Was it hard to replace the door window? Thank you !
My guess on strips 30
Thanks for the great video! We are about to start our full time RV adventure in June. We guess you have 52 3M strips!
Awesome! Where ya'll headed first?
Emily is starting a job as a travel physical therapist, and we will be in Daytona Beach, FL for our first stop.
My guess is 57. Thank you for all your videos, you give great hints, tips trial-and-error.
Thank you so much, Juanita! We're glad you're enjoying them!
Lol. Okay the toilet paper holder. We have ours inside the cabinet on the door. Hides it and doesnt take up any wall space. And my guess for the 3M strips is 53. Lol
I might have to try that one out, I've had a couple people recommend that. Thanks, guys!
Nice upgrades. I’m going with 17.
Thank you! Good guess!
Great vid. Thanks! The full RV isn't accessible when doing a quick overnight (with the slide in). If ya'll overnight somewhere (say a Cracker Barrel or Walmart), do you put your slide out. It's our fav floor plan but concerned about this. It's between the 2600RB and 2500RL.
We put the slide out! We were between the 2500RL and 2600RB too but ultimately decided we liked the 2600 more. No regrets! We've never had an issue putting the slide out in a parking lot overnight or any campground 😊
You have made some “fantastic” mods 😉! We have a 2500RL, so very similar style to yours. I’m going to guess 40 - 3M strips.
FANTASTIC 😂 I like the 2500RL layout, I'm not counting TT's out if we end up upgrading. Thanks, Linda!
Well, I really enjoy watching your videos over the last few years and have heard yaw talk a lot about the 3M strips many times, so, My guess is; (75) 3M Strips that yaw have attached to hold things up!!!
Thanks for watching, great guess!
Love the video! Where did you find the spice rack that you have next to the stove? Did it come with the jars? Thanks 😊
Hey, Bryon! I believe it was something like this amzn.to/3GH0SDN I honestly can't find the order that I put in for it though. Came with everything I needed!
I'll go with 34 3M Strips. Travel Safe. Love the Mods.
Thank you, Randy!
Thanks
Our guess is 38 strips. We also use poster puddy to hold the wife's knick knacks in place.
We have the same ice maker and it has been awesome. Have you done any mods for your RV fridge? We just got an internal fan to help cool things down but have to wait for our next trip to see how it works.
Thank you! I never thought about using poster putty. The ice maker is really nice so far! No mods in the fridge, but I have seen some people put one of those small fridge fans in. Seems to help regulate the cold air a little. Hope you enjoyed the video!
That’s awesome, thanks for the info. What kind of door lock do you have? And, do you like it?
It's the RVLock brand a.co/d/7GRaUiK and yes we love it!
We put our toilet paper holder on the inside of the bathroom sink cabinet door. It’s worked out perfect for us there. I replace the sticky back with alien tape, it works so much better. My guess for the number of 3M is 49!!!!
I've seen a few people do that. Great guess!!
Congratulations!! 🎉🎉🎉 You guessed correctly - we use 49 3M strips in the camper! Send us your mailing address at hello@lifererouted.com and we'll be sending you some swag!!
Thanks for another great video. I'm going to purchase the door lock. There are no issues with the interior handle and the screen door?
Glad you enjoyed it! No issues at all, it just took a little bit to finagle it in place. We love it!
43 3M strips love your videos
Thank you, Mark!
They look good got some Ideas thanks 84
No problem 👍
Great job! 26 strips
Thank you so much!
Fun seeing your mods. I say 35command strips.
Thank you so much!!
Great, great information. Thanks. Have no clue...maybe 122?????
Thank you, Betty Jo! Good hearing from you!
Where did you purchase the shelving used in the bedroom closet?
Thanks. Enjoy your videos.
Hey there! We bought them online somewhere I think. amzn.to/3E0x8Cv This is a close model, we had to cut the legs down to get it to fit!
My guess is 46 3m strips👍. We just bought a 2018 imagine 2600rb! So this helps with some future mods.
Thanks, Sharon! Woohoo! That's awesome. Can't wait to hear what all you do!
We have a 2600 rb 2020 and was watching this saying we did that too. A lot of similarities but oh so different. We are wanting to upgrade our batteries soon and where did you purchase the Jack cover? Our guess for the 3 m command strips is 36!
Hope too see you on the road sometime!
That's so cool! We love hearing from others who have 2600RBs! We actually got it off of amazon, here's the link: amzn.to/3MR1Nn9 Hope to see you on the road sometime too ❤
We were gifted a Dyson a couple years back. Dyson vacuums are the most overrated over hyped pieces of junk IMHO of course. Dyson has a strong marketing/advertising game though I will say that. I enjoy your videos thank you!
I've been really happy with ours! Thanks for watching, Nick!
My wife discovered the 3m strips early in our adventure with our grand design 2MLE. I counted our and we have 35, based on your video, I’m going to guess you have at least 3 times as many, so I’m going to guess 100.
Regarding your door lock, I put one on as well, but being the paranoid person I am (what happens if the keypad fails?) I always carry my keys when I leave the trailer. Have never needed them, but….
Good guess! The keypad does come with a traditional lock as well, in case something did happen.
You 2 are awesome. Love your videos.
I'm guessing 22 Command hangers
Awe, thanks! good guess!
Just found your channel! Looking to buy the 2500RL to start full timing next year (work remotely in tech). Wondering what you use for a tow vehicle!
Welcome aboard! We're in a 2017 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel
Enjoyed ! I guess 37 strips. We are new in our GD 2500 RL so any information we get off your videos are helpful. Thanks.
Thank you so much, Len!
Hello! Our guess is 31 strips. Joan thinks about the ice maker every once in a while, but for now, we are sticking with a bag of ice in the freezer ;)
Good guess! It does take up space, but I cleared a spot down below the sink in case 🤗
Looks like you guys have found some great solutions for a small space! I’m guessing 43 3M strips! :)
Haaaaay! We miss you guys! ♥♥♥ You should send me your address!
Nice mods! I’m going with 25 3M strips
Awesome, thank you Andy!
Rig looks great guys! Amazing to think you've been rolling in it for four years. For the 3M strips, My wife says 25 and I say 39! Are we allowed to have two guesses 😅 Cheers!
Thank you James! We really can't believe it's been 4 years already ❤ we'll allow it for you guys 😄
Thanks for the video I'm going to guess 65 3M strips lol!!
Thanks, David!
Oh and we have our TP holder inside the cabinet door under the sink. But our toilet is not across from it, so sit down and see where you reach best lol
probably our best bet! 😂
163 3M strips, nice video
Thank you, Mark!
I’m guessing that you have 52 3m strips. I love your videos. 🤗
Great guess! Thank you so much, Tamara! ❤❤❤
Where did you get the window for your camper door ? Did you install yourself or have the dealer ? We are on year two of our adventure with our 22MLE. Don’t full time (yet), but usually travel for 6-8 weeks at a time and one of the things I really don’t like is the stock window that comes in the door that has no shade. Not a lot of fun when boondocking in a parking lot under a street light !
Window is in our Amazon store: amzn.to/3PMdg9E I installed it myself, it was pretty simple actually!
Love the keypad lock. Any particular brand?
Also, guessing you used 26 3M strips.
Keep the faith!
Thank you! We like the RV Lock brand, I think we have them in our Amazon store if you're interested! www.amazon.com/shop/lifererouted
Very good video! When we bought our 5th wheel toy hauler last March we took our time buying thinks as we went. I was watching rv youtube video to determine what we needed as essentials. We both still work full-time so we only go camping once a month, for now. We love the 3m command strips too. My guess would be you have used 36 command hooks. We also have the 3 water filter clear source system and love it too. We have a place in our bedroom for a TV but we opted not to install one because we didn't want to get caught up into watching a lot of TV and miss out on exploring the location. Thanks for sharing your journey and information you've learned along the way because its very helpful to those who are just getting start. Thanks again!!!
Good guess, Tabatha! What toy hauler do ya'll have? Thanks for watching and safe travels!
@@lifererouted we have a momentum g350class 39 1/2 ft long, it sleeps 7. We love it. One day we will be able to travel more. I love your tribute to falling solders. Thank you for your services. Safe travels to you also!
You do T have any issues with your spices clumping up from the heat/moisture from the stove? I’ve tried 3 different setups placing the spices by the stove and with every single one my spices got hard. So now they’re in the cabinet on a rack
Not really, but we have a dehumidifier we run year round!
My guess is 32!😊 Love your channel!!
Great guess! Thank you 😊 💓
I think you've used 76 3M strips. Are these the same as Command Hooks or similar? I was intrigued by your spice rack and think I'll put in something similar on either side of my stove.
The toilet paper holder should go to the right of the toilet (if you are both right-handed) and be in the most comfortable place for you to use it with the open part of the hook facing away so that when you pull the paper, it does not fall on the floor. Yes, it's obvious, but I've seen several installations that were reversed and thought I'd make sure to mention it.
What do you use for safety grab bars in your shower?
No grab bars that we've installed. Everything is standard!
Thanks for another great video. I’m gonna guess 57 3M strips.
Thank you!
Always enjoy your channel !!!
......63....
Awesome, thank you!
Thanks for the info! I guess 28 command strips
You're welcome, Wayne! Thank you!
Lots of great tips. Really appreciate it. I want to know what truck you use to pull the RV. If it's a half ton is it big enough? Does it stop it ok as well.
Half ton 3.0 EcoDiesel. Love it!
Driving the same truck. 2014 with 113,000 miles.
Do you air bags on the back of your truck? Does it help? Also we have a Grand Design as well. It's the 17MKE. They say don't put bike racks on the back and I was wondering what you use to hold yours on the bumper.
@@JR-py9io Good question! No air bags. Our bike rack is in our Amazon store www.amazon.com/shop/lifererouted
We attached it to the bumper with a hitch receiver. No issues yet
I love video and I guess 47 command strips.
Thank you!
Great video on helpful upgrades. I’d guess 127 command strips.
Thank you, Mike!
