It's a shame, good bikes and frame but the rattles are annoying. The inserts the bike comes with work most of the time, but on bigger bumps it doesn't give enough tension on the housing the keep it from touching the frame.
My main bike is a CAAD 5 that is about to be full R8000 11spd with Zonda wheels. I absolutely love it but hope to find a CAAD 10 frame that I will build up similarly. Enjoyed your video man! I'm also in Portland btw.
Nice! Look on Marketplace, I'm always looking for people selling their old bikes especially Cannondales and I'm pretty sure theres a couple CAAD 10's on there right now!
so cool. I got a 2005 Cannondale R1000 in black a few years ago as my first roadbike. Cassett for perfect mountain goat and rebuild it slightly for a even lighter weight. I still love it and it drives lovely. What stem do you use and what tire width? You ride with the 23 mm tires? Keep it up, Flo
I had that same r5000 I bought it new in 06 or 07. Loved it. I built up another caad8 last year. Ultegra groupset and hed 60mm wheels. What size frame is yours?
@@JaredBass7 Do you know of a good online bike store that you would recommend that would have Carbon dropdown bars? Someone told me of an online bike store a while back that had some good pricing for name brand stuff including frames but it was so long ago I didn't keep track. thanks!
They did a second iteration of the CAAD8 apparently, I think when the 10 was out as a less expensive alternative. Keep looking on Marketplace you'll find a US one cheap soon enough if you want one.
Great bike. I have three of them
I just picked up my second!
I have a Focus carbon Cayo, I retired the frame after many thousands of miles, but it had the same cable rattle you mentioned.

Love it man! In process building my 8 as well. I have the raw aluminum one
Right on good luck with the build!

Oooo hell yeah that's cool. What color is you new Caad8? Mine is a 56cm, im 5'11'' and think I would prefer a 54 if I had the choice
Im working on a caad 8 can u send specs in terms of parts and rear drop out spacing
Regular dropout spacing pretty sure? Stock FSA cranks with Shimano threaded BB, 11spd Shimano 105 shifters and rear derailleur, Dura ace 7800 front derailleur, 105 11-30t cassette, Ultegra brakes, Shimano RS500 wheelset, Zip post and random stem, Specialized Toupe saddle
Is this an aluminum frame?
yes
Yes aluminum frame and carbon fork!
@@JaredBass7 I have a Kona aluminum frame. It rides perfectly smooth and stiff I'm thinking about putting a carbon fork and carbon dropdown bars.
@@kovenant7 Right on, do it man. Carbon fork should help soften bumps in the road!

Cool
Caad8 usa made, they say this might be the best caad frame, i got a cad 8 made in taiwan, a bit slacker geometry. Not as sought after than yours
