- This school day started off like most others for kindergarten student Bailey Page.
Her usual teacher was there. And the PA sounded the day's announcements.
And her class joined in the school's pledge of allegiance. ... (Nat sound)
That recital is particularly important to Bailey because her father is in Afghanistan serving in the United States Army.
(Nat sound finish pledge)
What was special for Bailey today was that it is her birthday. Even the principal came to visit here.
It was special, for Bailey, too, that the principal took time to talk about the freedoms of America.
(Nat sound)
You see, for most of Bailey's life, her father has been serving in faraway nations as a soldier in the U.S. Army.
Because of that, and because it was her birthday, Bailey was invited to show a poster about her father and her family.
Then, something happened that Bailey didn't expect, even for her birthday.
(Nat sound, teacher & poster, Dad arrives)
Sgt. Page had been redeployed... in the United States. He was home, for Bailey, on her birthday.
(Nat sound)
When the tears were wiped away, Bailey proudly showed off her father to her fellow students.
(Sound bite)
26 -- Principal askas -- Sgt. Page, when did you get back in town?" "Last night." Bailey -- "You were here all night?!"
And now, with her hand in Dad's, Bailey has only one other wish:
1:35 "Gracey, does this mean we get to go to Disneyland? We're going to take you. .... Etc.
(Cover) 1:40 Sgt Page: As I walked through the school and opened the door, there was excitement. I haven't seen my daughter in nine months.
2:35 My daughter's taking me to Disneyland. That's what she says, so I guess it's going to happen.
When she says "My only birthday present I wanted is you!" it is game on- start the crying.... She is too sweet!
I've watched this several times and just can't get enough. This little girl is so precious I cry every time I watch this.

So precious. Are men and women give up so much!!! Like others I've watched I've cried. It breaks my heart family has to be separated. Dear Lord bring our Soldiers home to their family . Watch over them and keep them safe.
