Gorgeous! I am drawn to the lushness, the exuberance, the green dotted with color, and a wildness mixed with order. My husband reminds me that most things in life are experiments and some won't turn out as we like, but some will exceed all that we dreamed, that is what keeps us trying. Although I want everything to turn out well, that would lead to me thinking that I can control everything and I can't. The surprises and changes make life interesting, the failures help me grow. I have also come to the conclusion that I don't have to let plants do what they want, I can hack them back and move them and try what I want, if they die, it was just an experiment! I even moved tomatoes in Aug. because they were doing what I wanted them to do, they recovered and I got tons of tomatoes!
Well, your fails are beautiful. I want to tell you how much you have inspired my gardening this year. It is my victory garden. This season of staying at home has taught me to live in the moment. In my garden, it means that I'm not waiting for a different house to have the garden of my dreams. I'll create it here. We cleared briar, grapevine, small shrubs and created wattle borders and a log border. I've hauled rocks around. I have planted roses and hydrangea. I'm rooting boxwoods. My cutting garden area has increased so that I've had cut flowers in transferware pitchers all summer except for two weeks when it was too hot for anything to flower. I picked up a park bench in need of restoration and we have transformed that. The supplies for an arbor come tomorrow. Thank you for so much for creating the most beautiful content. I look forward to every video. Those sunflowers sound amazing. I can't wait to see those flower.

I had a book in the 'little women' series called 'Jo's boys' that I loved. The illustration on the front was your house. Being in Australia we dont see houses like this, so I dont know the architectural style of your home, but to me it's a little women house and i LOVE it. You know I loved that book so much I wanted to work in a home for boys and actually ended up doing that for a time which I loved. It's funny the things that inspire us. Looks so beautiful. Gourds really do spread. I use to raise them alot for crafting. I had a Zucca Gourd which is size of a watermelon and the leaves are like plates. They really are fun to grow but you need a huge space for them. Your roses are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Hi there! Love your channel. The garden tour is fabulous. You can remove the liner from the pond and let the ducks seal it for you. That's a tried and true method that works and doesn't cost a ton of money.

Maybe the gourds would be better at the back of your garden next to your wattle fence. I had a squash vine planted about 4 feet away from our fence line and it went up and over into the neighbors yard. She tried to throw it back over the fence, but I told her whatever was over there was hers to enjoy cause I could see that we wouldn't have been able to contain it! You have a lovely garden despite the fails! I've enjoyed watching this playlist.

Your garden reminds me of the one from the movie "The Secret Garden"....so magical. My great-grandfather would always plant a Zinnia garden for us great-grandchildren to pick flowers or to catch butterflies. We would always release them unharmed.

I am so jealous of your hollyhocks. I have tried multiple times and still I cannot get them to grow. And a cottage garden must have hollyhocks. I think it's a law or something. I also cannot get my lavender to overwinter. But you forgot to mention among your success that the wattle deer fence is still up this year. Hurray!!
I love the difference in zones between you and I. Here in the south, everything is dying down. The tomatoes are near done. The sunflowers have turned to seed. We have seeds planted for fall gardening, but not much to harvest now. When I watch your channel I see the anticipation I had in April, in your July. Lovely garden failed pond and all💗

Phenomenal Lavender is aptly named. I'm in zone 6B-7A and get two massive cuttings a year, 36" spread, 7 plants.
