The First World War
Austria and Hungary both had their own standing armies. In 1914 Austria had 40,000 soldiers and Hungary, 30,000.
The Imperial and Royal Army made up a further 350,000 men and gave their allegiance direct to Emperor Franz Josef.

Two of my (Hungarian) great-great grandfathers served in the Great War, one of them in the KuK (common army) and the other in the Hungarian Honvédség. My grandpa always told me that even decades after the end of the war, they still argued which army was the one that was responsible for losing the war.
The Austro-Hungary Army had a diverse group of nationalities which could cause problems in speed of command. Lets have a look at this force in the First World War.
And remember to keep the conversation civil. :)
Really enjoyed the video, thanks for making it! How did the Austro-Hungarian Command try to get around the problems of having such a diverse group of soldiers fighting for them? Did they ensure their commanders were fluent in the languages of their battalion or did they simply create ethnic battalions with a commander of the same ethnic group who could then give orders in their native language? I'd be interested to know the answer :) Cheers!
Hungarians were always very good German speakers, it was the second language of Hungary, like English is today. So the most of the units spoke (Germans and Huns) very good German. Even in WW2 Hun soldiers fighting alongside Germans had no problems understanding their comrades.
I can't speak for other nationalities of the Empire, because i'm not sure how they managed, guess you couldn't really get far in the ranks if you spoke only your mother tongue.

but most of them were loyal,
If they would have been able to see into the future they wouldn't have done this. The nations that once formed Austria- Hungary all suddenly lacked quality of life, with most of them becoming dictatorships, since some politicians promised only so much. Even austria, that came away rather decent compared to the other parts (except from loosing land with ethnic austrian popoluation majority, most of it to this day) fell into a christian- conservative authoritarian pit before it got occupied and annexed by germany.
After that all countries of the old monarchy except from austria and what now belongs to italy got strangled by sovjet communism and the iron curtain. Czech lands for example, that once held the majority of the Austria- Hungarian industrial power, got hit so hard that it took them just untill recent decades to get back on an equal level with austria. Meanwhile Yugoslavia had only one thing that held it together: Tito. After him Austria- Hungary's history kind of repeated itself sadly there. And the aftermath of sovjet reign you can see at romania and other parts to this day.
I don't want to glorify the empire. Franz Joseph I was an old blockhead, unable to adapt to new times or even to hold onto the old austrian policies of (more ore less) warless expansion (also because austria never was the best at war, at least without help). All i want to say is that there was a chance that everything would've went another road. Maybe the empire eventually still collapsed, but without handleing its children over to Stalin, Hitler and Mussolini on a silver platter.

Allies? You mean Triple Entente.
Triple Entente is more for when it was just Great Britain, France and Russia
But the problem is that the Alliance of The German Empire, The Ottoman House, The Bulgarian Kingdom and Austro Hungarian Empire was named Triplice Alliance, they were the "Allies"
Get your facts straight. Alliance is called everyone who fought on the side of the triple entente, which was formed by france, GB and russia, that includes serbia and others who joined later aswell. The "alliance" of the german empire and ottoman empire is called Axis
Yes, but before when The German Empire, The Kingdom of Italy and The Austro Hungarian Empire were in the Triple Alliancce, that started the war, but without Italy, and later when The Ottoman House and Kingdom Of Bulgaria joined they became The Central Powers.

The Siege of Kut Al Amara (7 December 1915 - 29 April 1916), also known as the First Battle of Kut, was the besieging of an 8,000 strong British-Indian garrison in the town of Kut, 160 kilometres (100 mi) south of Baghdad, by the Ottoman Army. In 1915 its population was around 6,500. Following the surrender of the garrison on 29 April 1916, the survivors of the siege were marched to imprisonment at Aleppo, during which many died.[1] Historian Christopher Catherwood has called the siege "the worst defeat of the Allies in World War I".[2] WİKİPEDIA
