@@upclosegolf I’ve tried dying my golf balls but I can’t seem to get the bright red that is easy to see. Mine turn out dark red and for me that’s the worst. RIT dye just doesn’t make a color that matches the brightness of the commercially dyed balls. Do you dye your own? Have you found a combination that is bright and easily seen. In the fall when leaves are on the ground I’ve lost balls in the middle of the fairway.
I actually quite like matte red (specifically callaway superfasts) I find them easier to track in the sky, and the cover on the red Callaway’s practically glow in the fairway and rough for me.
I play with a guy who has been using green ones from titleist. They've actually been easier to find than the yellow ones i use. Agree with the comment on the burgundy tour response ones being hard to find, especially in the fall. I've lost those seeing exactly where they landed if there are leaves on the ground.
Orange balls get lost easily during a very sunny day, on a gloomy one its the easiest to see. The bright yellows are easier to see, but I am thinking of trying out some white ones again soon.
My uncle was using the red ones and lost a sleeve in nine holes. We couldn't track them in flight or find them in the fairway. Yellow can be a problem in the fall with all the yellow foliage on the ground.
I do play white or sometimes bright yellow (like the Q-Star Tour) during the sunmer. I don't really find yellow hard to find. Orange is usually my choice of color in the fall season. I agree with the green ones being difficult to find, but i sometimes use them early in the year, right after the winter and snow has disappeared, and the grass is brown/yellow-ish. Only a few courses open that early, though 😊
I used to play orange, but being in PA, when the leaves start to change color and fall, they're too easy to lose. I switched to the lighter pink (not fluorescent ones) Lady Bridgestone and have a rarely lost any, at least visually. Sticking with them.
Yes I agree they’re definitely expensive! I’ve not played the new blue stripe tour response but did think they would be harder to spot that when I saw them! 👍🏌️♂️
Orange and Pink are good, and the two color are great to see in flight, because they twinkle. All other colors are not as easy to see, particularly in the early morning when the ground is very "bright".
Where's the analysis of colours for the different sexes in different conditions? E.g. cloudy or blue sky, summer or autumn trees, green rough or heather, etc... This is just your opinions! Esp. for the red - you may have red-green problems that many men have.
Ha ha! Yeah I should’ve included that, while we’re generalising, the part about how all women obviously play pink golf balls! 🙄🏌️♂️ What colour do you play? 🤔
*totally agree on the Black & Red. This friend was using a Red, told him he was gonna lose it and he DID! I heard Pink is EZ to spot, need to try it. I usually use the Green, Orange, or Yellow. White is also hard to spot especially on a bright day. The Crystal white may be the exception. Good review!*
I brought my godson some Matte Blue Titleist Velocity and they are so hard to see in the air. There was a point on one hole we had about ten eyes looking for one ball and could not find it.
I bought the black Vice balls for the novelty. I just had to have them! I used one on a couple of par 3's where I knew I wouldn't lose it. One hit the green, no problem, one was right of the green in the rough. It did take me a min to find it. lol Red balls, a buddy of mine likes those, he'll ask for those of us in his group, to track the ball when he hits. All of us lose sight of it almost immediately and it's just as difficult to find in the rough. I prefer using green and yellow. Those are the easiest, for my eyes, to see, in the air and on the ground. I just picked up some orange balls, that I might take out on my next round. We'll see how well I can see those.
i think, eye color has plenty to do with it. each has one or two or a blend color hard to see against any background. usually, low flight or stingers are traceable. we believe itis to sell more or get a better phone with tracing or golf tags for your clubs tell distant. unsure they show a glowing ball on a course map overlay. it would be nice.
Yeah you’re right, glowing ball would be good. Also if I could play a proper stinger I’d be able to comment on that ha ha! They’re easy to see when I top the ball though! 😂🏌️♂️
I struggle to see white balls fly against a cloudy sky. Yellow balls work well for me unless the dandelions are blooming. Orange ones are easy to spot unless it’s autumn and they get lost in the leaves. None of them are easy to spot when they land in the bushes 🤷♂️ I have a friend who can see everyone’s ball and tells us where they are ….. he probably saves me several lost balls per round - just get a playing partner with good eyesight 😂
I played the black Vice Pro Plus in Portugal on the par 3s. In the air it's easier to spot, dropping down in the tree line it vanishes, but really visible on the greens up to 190ish. Definitely near invisible in the rough though.
@upclosegolf I bought some of their Black, Gold and the Shade ( yellow/orange ) ones. The shades are by far the best and most visible in all conditions, I've been playing with them for a few months now and can't fault them.
It depends on the eyes. I can’t see a fluorescent red in the green grass, or any red ball for that matter. Orange is not much better, but can see orange a little batter. Those Srixion is tough to see when the blue is exposed and the yellow is hidden. I prefer a yellow ball 1st, then a white ball.
I’ve played the red matte supersoft which are really easy to track through the air and surprisingly easy to find off the fairway, but at the moment I’m gaming the green Matt supersofts. Again no issue tracking it through the air and definitely helps with the winter leaves on the ground. whites and yellow a no no in winter as they mirror the colour of the leaves
@@upclosegolf My playing partners did NOT like the red Mattes, I can get down with that as when you look at them straight on you get dots in your vision 🤣

I mainly play with matt red or green golf balls as I find them the easiest to find, I use the matt red Wilson a few days ago and it made it 13 holes before I lost it, well I say lost it I know where it went straight into a pond lol
@@upclosegolf Agree that Inesis is underrated - as a mid handicap player, I was really surprised at how well this ball played. Great distance (for me) and awesome control for approach shots and ground the green. Great value for money for Inesis balls.
I play the matte red Volvik Vivid golf balls all the time. I rarely lose them. They are easy to see in flight and stand out in the rough and fairways. I think blue and black ones are the worst to play and find.
got some camo balls for xmas last yr lost all three before making the turn and thats from the fairway LOL ,, i play the Divides and have to say the Blue and Yellow are the hardest to fined i definitely prefer the yellow white ones
I found a matte black ball awhile back called the Deadspin; it has a white skull for a logo. No wonder the guy lost it; you can’t see it unless you’re standing on top of it. My favorite colors are yellow and white. I hate red; I can’t see those in the air.
Depends. I play a white ball, but my local course has a lot of silver birch trees on it, and in the autumn you could drop your white ball at your feet in those and not see it, I’ll be changing to a yellow ball ‘til they’ve gone. My other course has a lot of regular trees, and yellow and orange balls become invisible in those leaves this time of the year. My grandson has always played a red ball, and we can all see those from outer space all year round. Long grass, edges of water hazards and reeds, all easily seen. The only time he loses a ball is if it’s deep OB or properly in the water. He will not change. I guess it’s what your eye gets used to.
Ah yes silver birch trees are a nightmare for finding golf balls in! I’ve sworn at leaves on the floor in autumn so much ha ha! Appreciate your comment! 👍🏌️♂️
I can see the pink and red balls the best. The dark blue are hard for me to see and the green ones just disappear entirely. The yellow/blue Srixon balls are not bad surprisingly.
