Ultimately, the decision to move your goats to another location will depend on a variety of factors, including the specific circumstances, financial considerations, and the well-being of your animals. It's important to carefully weigh all the options and seek professional advice to make an informed decision that is in the best interest of both your farm and your goats.

I understand that youve done the math on the animals and thats fine. Your points on bringing foreign sheep is valid as you dont a market for them, on the other hand you didnt have the market for foreign goats until you brought them and started. However your point on not having the passion for them is your biggest point

The only sure way to eliminate the price fluctuations in poultry feed, is to grown your own maize.
With adequate irrigation and hybrid varieties, you could achieve 11 tonnes per hectare.
So if you dedicate 10 hectares (25 acres) to maize, you could get up to 110 tonnes.
If planned well, you could grow maize 3 seasons in one year. That gives 330 tonnes.
So assuming your poultry are consuming one tonne of maize a day, you could have 330 days of food from 25 acres of land.
The most important point you made is the market. Poultry only makes sense if there's market for the eggs.

      Sir,
Can you please enlighten us more on how to get 11 tonnes of maize per hectare?
I am into maize farming, and we struggle to get 4-5 tonnes per hectare here in Nigeria.
Thanks in anticipation of your response.

I do appreciate your thoughtful approach as to why you have chosen not to do cows, pigs, poultry, and sheep.
You have done the math and you know the prospects of profitability.
I am sure some will see your reflections as Dream Killers.
You lost me when you mentioned you have never tried sheep meat.
I am sure some can tell the difference in taste, but I am willing to bet that most people can't tell the difference between sheep and goat.
Taste has a lot to do with how they were raised and fed. The age of animal also affects taste.
A goat or sheep raised in a pen on prepared commercial food will taste distinctly different from on raised one pasture.
Knowing the difference does not matter if the perception is that goat is in higher demand than sheep.
In closing, I wish you well in your goat business.

A lot of common sense here. Yes, feed is a big issue, sometimes there’s even shortage. That’s why goats and producing own feed was the best.

Who is manufacturing and processing the farm product. These areas may take a smaller area of land that would be not as problematic and maybe more in demand.
Manicuring suitable safe containers, feed, equipments or proper commercial processing of fish, meat, dairy produce and related areas.
If farming is your love farming could be done on a much smaller scale.
Your returns and the Educational process could be equally important.

Well, I think you don’t have to give up on the cattle, but what you need to do is AI which is cheaper than buying and raising, however, they are somehow very expensive to take care of if you doing them on a large scare, All in all, I think your idea of focusing on goat is a very interesting area, the demand is very huge globally from America, Australia, Dubai etc people started to appreciate goat meat less cholesterol.

People with capital should start looking at ostrich export. Ostriches can be fed 60% leafy foods, 20% logumes and 20% fruits. This feed cycle can be self cultivated.

I hope you can sell you farm. The local government should be responsible for the cost of your relocation. The education I can get from this is to not invest in Ghana because them not respecting property rights. If goats were going to be a problem the local government should have pointed this out in the beginning. Are these chiefs collecting property taxes? This is why the world invests in America.
