Oh I was hoping nobody would notice 😄 haha I actually said pythagoras, but that only solves the long diagonal length. I actually used trigonometry to cross reference between the angles and lengths to make sure it all worked out. It helped when I called out Origin for when they gave me a plan that was mathematically impossible. I didn't really explain it properly in this though because I thought it would get too boring 😴
I kind of went through that in my other video about window quotes. To summarise it, I knew I wanted aluminium black doors and windows and they had to hit a u value of 1.4. Then I sent of the dimensions to several firms. I made a decision based on their accuracy of quote, the information they initially supplied and the price. Another factor you should consider is if they take credit card payments as you should always do this as an insurance policy just incase something goes wrong (claim under section 75)
Humm there's 6 small French windows, 3 other large windows and then the gable window. Doors - the big 4 leaf bifolds, a smaller 3 leaf bifold, French doors and a single door. I've already got a set of steel security doors for the plant room 👍
Original planning stated I had to have steel crittall windows (a misunderstanding on the heritage consultants part). I went in for new planning and said I'd go for crittall style aluminium and they was fine with that. Alu clad wood is super expensive, I wouldn't go for dark upvc as I believe it can warp, so aluminium it was, low maintenance 👍
Good to see you back, another cracking video, thanks.
Cheers dude
Really good video. Glad you're back mate.

Thank you pythagorus 🧐
Very helpful, Thank you....but ive gotta ask, what word did you say before you threw the 'trigonometry' bit in? haha

How did you go about finding the right window supplier?

Really helpful 👌. From the previous video where you were pricing up, how many windows and doors is included in the total price?
