Just rent fat Bob in Europe and put your stuff in motor home. That way you will get feel of the bike and will know quirks of the bike. Also you can rent different types of bike over there to get to know how they actually suites you and there are some times when don't wana ride you can return it and join TD in motor home.

You can also consider buying kawasaki vulcan vaquero or voyager. Bith are excellent baggers, cheaper in price and very low maintenance. You will end up saving 5 to 10 k than harley. Furthermore hd are expensive to buy and maintain. It will be a good idea to test ride one before buying. A good used one wirh low miles should be around 13 usd. I myself is a vulcan rider

For walking sketchers are the best. I agree it's not as fashionable as Nike or other brands but they are the best for standing comfortably and walking for long hrs. Also for riding the bike, you need riding boots you cant wear Nike or Sketchers or any other brands because they will get damaged very quickly. Would suggest a good pair of walking shoes and one pair of riding boots. Also, you need to break into the riding boots. Hope this helps
