- Mini Comps are the new cool thing to do..for adult men 😂. This past week, I went with friends up to Ludington, MI to visit Ludington Hobbies. It was my first time to visit Ludington and I'll be back...for RC and for fishing. The drive north from Grand Rapids is beautiful. I had no idea what to expect when I got there, but was pleasantly surprised by the shop. They had a great inventory and a couple courses for people to use.
It's a blast to hang out with friends and rib on each other as we crawl. Tons of laughs were had as we all tried to remember it was timed and that reverses and winches aren't penalized. Because the event was timed, it made the runs a lot shorter, so I was able to film full runs and decided to put them up in their entirety. Wish I'd have thought about that early on and filmed every run. Being my first time there, I also was checking out the shop and everything they had...which is a lot.

I miss having hobby shops in my area. The last one closed down 3 years ago. It was a sad day for us hobbyists in the area. Buying online is not the same. It was also a great place to meet new people in the hobby. You're lucky, i'm so jealous.

That Hobby Shop is a dream come true. Hometown, U.S.A. I bet there was a good diner nearby with a half^decent burger and some key lime pie.

Love Ludington Hobbies! One of the best hobby shops in MI in my opinion! Great selection of parts and it's always cool to see all of the vehicles on display. Hopefully I can make it to one of the comps sometime. Also am hoping to make it to at least one comp at Reaction this winter! Take care Tony!

I like that the deadbolt is a popular comp platform did the same lcg hot racing chassis and everything they make on it lol look like a great time with good people 😀..I noticed that everyone keep the trucks narrow instead of wider 🤔
The deadbolt is a great platform. I usually start there. Wide is good if you aren’t comping. If you do comps, wider stance puts you closer to the gates.

@@rcjoe406 haha. Yeah. We saw that at the Great Lakes Gauntlet. People came expecting to slay the course with their $$$ rigs and didn’t do well at all. It’s a totally different setup than you see all over UA-cam.

My hobby store in the hometown ain't bad but pricy. It's cheaper to purchase it on Amazon. The name of the hobby shop is called Mach Hobbies. It's located in Dickson TN on HWY 70.
It's cool to see the 24 scale comps, I am wondering is there a way to find out about the comps that are coming up around here in west/southwest Michigan? Like a schedule posted a somewhere?
