I've said it before and I'll say it again, Guga should release a recipe book of his side dishes.
Just use youtube
Would buy in a heartbeat. I love steak but sometimes his side dishes steal the show
@@1209MArky
A book is far easier to use
@@1209MArky A book would be nicer and be a bit more timeless for those things people who may want to try in the future. I have found that UA-cam videos are not as timeless and sometimes get removed or deleted where a book would be something that you can refer to for the rest of your life or even generations when kept in the family.
Like Mark said, Just use UA-cam. Guga's side dishes are not recipes he makes up, he uses UA-cam to find the recipes. If he did a book he'd have to credit the original creators (which he should be doing in his videos, but whatever)
For the next one try french onion soup mix. It is crazy good on burgers and probably steaks as well. Even chicken would be great.
👍🏾✊🏾💯I approve this message. Sous vide it in the FOS.
I use the French onion soup mix to doctor up canned green beans all the time. I never thought about using it to season steak.
Can confirm it is DELICIOUS with steaks!
It's pretty nice with fried chicken too.
I hope Guga tries it out.
YEah, I mix that stuff into my hamburgs. It's awesome.
It also works great mixed into double cream over potatoes for over roasting.
It’s amazing in burgers too. Mix it into the ground beef and give it a light mixing around without completely destroying the meat, then you’ve got yourself one of the best tasting burgers you can make at home. Bonus points if you mix ground bacon into the beef.
If it didn't work *on* the meat, why would it work *in* the meat? Hmmm.
@@convincedquaker it worked on the meat here, at least on the compound butter steak, I think it may have just got too diluted for it to make a difference on the steak without the compound butter because ranch seasoning is very mild. Aside from that, I’d say the major difference in putting the seasoning in the meat vs on the meat would be that it gets deeper penetration/incorporation in the meat so it actually makes a noticeable difference.
It works. I like to add a little bit of butter or heavy whipping cream to increase the moisture and fat content of my burger. Bigger batches of burgers get whipping cream, smaller batches only get butter.
@@RadDadisRad I like the sound of that… so how exactly does this work? Is it like softened butter mixed in or chunks of butter throughout? And for the whipping cream, is it just enough to moisten all the meat before or after making patties?
@@wc.smith99 yes softened butter and then flash freeze to firm up. The heavy cream is just for moisture and the fat content in it is butter. With regular butter you have the moisture from the milk solids.
I live in the Midwest and we dip literally everything in ranch. Ranch powder is no less in our recipes especially when it comes to making "crack pretzels". We are proud of you Guga
Was your mind blown when you found out Clorox owns Hidden Valley Ranch?
is midwest next to middle-east?
@@GokkanUxxgo how is that relevant 😂 1 company makes tanks and dildos, doesn’t mean they have anything to do with each othet
@@Sam-dd7jm yes but also right by Middle Earth
sounds like a disgusting third world country. midwest sounds like torture
I love how Leo is so articulate and able to express exactly the taste and the texture of what he is eating, super insightful for us fans I think
You actually did the experiments I suggested, milk powder and now ranch seasoning. How about chicken stock powder or French onion soup packet.
Like a bouilllon cube? That would probably good. Basically msg and steak flavor.
For those that are not a big fan of the spicy pepper, do this: after getting all the seeds and membrane out of the peppers, buy some brand of pineapple and orange juice from any grocery store. Get a bowl, dump your sliced peppers in and pour the juice over the peppers until covered. Let set in the fridge overnight. The juice will neutralize the heat from the peppers. You will still get the pepper flavor with a fruity taste. I like them either way. Heat or no heat.
I really love this whole setup. This trio is awesome. I do wish we saw mao mao (sorry if I botched the spelling) more often though, he's such a humble and kind soul.
Guga, this has been one of the best videos you've made. You're editing has wonderfully hilarious and each video always brightens my day. Keep up the great work.
Definitely trying the second one with your amazing poppers! Thanks Guga ♥️
My variation of the jalapeno appies is "armadillo eggs." You fill the jalapeno boats with a mix of cream cheese and cheddar, then mold a palm-sized amount of hot Italian sausage meat around them, and then wrap the whole thing in 1-2 slices of bacon. Smoke or oven-bake for 45 minutes, and drizzle them with honey for a glaze. The best tailgate food ever!
You are truly an inspiration man. Keep going!
I LOVE ranch powder, even as a chef. I love your side dishes always fit the theme of the video. This meal would be king in the south. Would you possibly made loaded potatoes skins as a side dish sometime?
another great experiment! You all rock 🤘
Guga has been my inspiration for several years now. I bought gladiator knives, a new grill, the wagyu tallow and I've been getting my practice on. Thanks for all of your awesome videos!!
Agreed! His videos helped me up my steak game thats for sure.
All I can say is you make me watch you every time keep up the good work... Guga💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
One of the best videos to date! Can you try Old Bay seasoning ?
guga been watching since you filmed in what looked like a laundry room. keep up the good work and never change. have a good day today
I have this stuff in my pantry and this sounds good thanks for this idea guga
So had to try this myself. Did a combo of adding it after S&P for the sous vide and then made the compound butter with Ranch Seasoning. Turned out great! Still need to try the mac&cheese seasoning one though.
The thing I like most about this channel is not every dish is a winner. On all of the other cooking channels I watch, everything is the greatest or the best day after day, week after week. Anyone who cooks knows that not every dish s/he makes is great or perfect, and certainly not, the best. I appreciate the reality and humanity of Guga. I like that there is actually some drama in each episode right to the end. Great job, Guga!
Awesome!!! I just sent a comment a few days ago, asking you to try the Hidden Valley Ranch Seasoning. I can finally see it, 👀 thank you brother 🙏 🙌
Yea!!! Love ranch been waiting for this
Love all the videos, can't stop watching. Ever think of doing an Oxtail dish, considering it is pretty popular in South FL?
GUGA - you genius I love you. Tried this tonight on a Ribeye over coals (salt, pep, and GP ONLY obviously) and man-o-man. Insane. One of the best steaks of the year. DEFINITELY give this a try!!!!
I saved this video to my favorites cuz I'm definitely going to try the ranch butter and side dish at home
I love the Leo/Angel/Guga trio! Angel just have a personality I like seeing around, and Leo always find the words and the descriptions that make me TASTE the food through the screen!
Y’all were on one this time around lmao. Very fun to watch!
I'm glad the searing music is still here. I hum it to myself when I grill.
I like how Leo has solidly taken over the articulation side of things in these videos
It does work perfectly for sous vide. I did it last week and it was excellent
You need to try the ranch thing on your other channel, see if using one of the non sous vide methods has any impact on the flavor of a steak with nothing but the powder. And then see if it's any better to use the powder along with normal salt and pepper...say maybe replace the garlic with the ranch.
I've done the ranch seasoning on chicken (sous vide), with much the same result. The compound butter, though, looks really interesting. Probably good on veggies, too.
Thank you for the entertaining video guga! See you next time
Crock pot roast and vegetables with ranch dressing powder, itallian dressing powder and brown gravy powder are one of my go to lazy day dinners. Everybody loves it
Hey Guda I love your videos. I love to use a pinch of ground nutmeg on my steaks. I was hoping you would try it in a video
Ready to make the peppers..... I also use Ranch on pork chops too.
Buffalo dry seasoning and ranch dry seasoning mixed. Great experiment on steaks, done it for the wings not steak yet though love you guys
Guga's ENTIRE reaction to the second steak absolutely killed me!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I have a recommendation MADRA CURRY POWDER, in the green can.
I do a dry brine, then when I would normally season with garlic powder and pepper, I use Madra Curry powder instead. ITS AMAZING
When I was a kid I would always use Italian dressing to marinade my steaks 🥩!! It was a great way to flavor up even the lowliest cuts of meat.
'Come for the steak - stay for the sides" is accurate - I watch the full video anyway but these days I am seeing Guga experiment and learn some tasty ideas! 10/10 would recommend.
Hope u can see this Guga, I love the videos man. Keep it up
@7:19 the simultaneous "so ready" from Angel and Leo 😂
My family has been doing pork chops with the same Ranch powder for quite a few years, super easy and very tasty results. When you want something quick and tasty this is an excellent option.
I can only imagine that jalapeño popper with maple syrup on top 😩 it must be such a delicious explosion of flavors 💥
This man talking like Beerus
Hahahaha dying at the edit with Leo with the control steak
Please do dry age in za'atar, which is a middle-eastern spice mix !!!
Let’s goooo been requesting this for a while
Guga! I make smoked jelopena peppers all the time on the smoker during football season, my cheese mix is Cream Cheese, fresh grated extra sharp cheddar, garlic paste, onion powder and chives!!! Wrap in bacon and smoke, i also put them in the stove on air fryer setting to crisp up the outside.
When I do Jalapeno Poppers, I mix Ranch Dressing powder into the cream cheese and it is great. I'm a little bit surprised it didn't quite work as a seasoning. Whenever I want Pot Roast, I always do Mississippi Pot Roast, which is just a Pot Roast with a packet of Au Jus mix and a packet of Ranch Dressing Powder in the water, with some Pepperoncinis on top of the pot roast. You don't add salt or any other seasonings because there's already more than enough in the Au Jus and Ranch Dressing powders.
Guga, we need a tournament series! Take 3 steaks from your successful experiments and put them up against each other. The winner of that gets put against 2 other steaks in the next video! This continues on until you find out which steak is the one steak to rule them all! Aside from wagyu of course lol. We know that's king.
Yes, this needs to happen! There can only be one champion. I also recommend mayo steak to be thrown back in to the mix
The quantity of your video output is crazy, Guga. The quality, though, is phenomenal.
Hi Guga !
You always use garlic powder to season your steak, but I was wondering if it would not be better to use other garlic seasoning like fresh garlic, garlic paste or some kind of garlic compound better ?
Would you make a video about testing different kind of garlic seasoning to find out the best way ?
Love you
I think they already did that
Fresh garlic burns.
He already did this years ago in another video, and determined garlic powder is best.
Yea fresh garlic won't survive strong searing, it will absolutely burn. probably the same with garlic paste, either that or because it's wet it will inhibit a good sear. Garlic powder also tends to taste more subtle and add a bit more umami instead of full on pungency
Fresh garlic cells won't break down and release any good flavor compounds at steak temperatures. Instead, unpleasant and bitter.
Don’t know if you ever had Mississippi pot roast but ranch seasoning and pepperoncini is amazing together. That’s how I Sou vide my ribs
Tried this at home and was pleasantly surprised. I need to find something similar for blue cheese.
I use it on Roasted cubed Red Potatoes. Mix potato with your favorite oil and sprinkle on as much as you want. Place in foil packet. Grill until there is some char on the potatoes. Yummy.
Havnt seen the video yet but I’m thinking it’ll turn out great!! I use this powder with fat free greek yogurt to make a lower calorie high protein ranch dressing and that powder is 🔥🔥🔥
8:17 Guga becomes one with the cow
I'll be trying this one to
My favorite spin on this side dish is "Armadillo eggs"
To make them you core the jalapeno
Fill with your choice of cream cheese/shredded cheese mixture
Encase jalapeno in your choice of breakfast sausage
Wrap in bacon
You can make them on the grill or smoke them, they take a bit longer to make. if you grill them they take a while as to not burn them and still cook the sausage. Either use cold sausage or a binding agent to make it stick more easily. They're a labor of love and always worth it.
I’ve been asking for this channel to make kangaroo burgers for over three years on every single video released and I am not going to stop until it happens.
GET THE MAN HIS ROO MEAT
Agreed... Lets see some sloppy jeoys
we made them in year 9 for food technology. they were delicious but because they are so lean, there is hardly any fat, so one would need to make a sauce or use bacon in order to insert more flavour in the burger. hope this helped
I haven't had any chili peppers in a couple years due to rheumatoid arthritis. Doesn't matter if it's a bell peppers, jalapeno, or anything in between. 1 bite causes a rheumatoid flare. I think those bacon wrapped jalapenos will be worth not being able to move the next day
Sometimes we do okra instead, but they're harder to clean. I knew someone who would cut onions in half, separate the layers, & use them
I literally watch every video yall put out, both channels. I can't say that for anyone else on UA-cam.
We used ranch seasoning on pork chops when I was growing up and it was incredible
I highly recommend it
Did this but with actual ranch we would bake them and it would always be incredibly tender
We roast pork chops with ranch seasoning. They are my favorite, sometimes I like it more than steak. The trick is to not over cook them and you're golden.
Hey Gustavo ! I would love to see sous-vide duckbreast , 2-3 style, if it's possible ... TY
I so wish I could try Guga's steaks one of these days. They always look so perfect!
Get a sous vide stick and make em yourself homie, they’re pretty simple
@@martymac3523 Orale!
i love whoever edits your guys videos lol
Guga's reaction was priceless lol he powered up like a Saiyan with each bite cause he was hungry 😆
I use the ranch powder on chicken and pork as a dry brine. Works great. I also will use it in breading for them. I like to do a honey mustard brine, ranch breading and BBQ glaze on wings.
I use that ranch seasoning mix for eggs. Scrambled eggs or something like a quiche with a little ranch seasoning and chicken stock is delicious.
Hey Guga, a little bit ago you cooked some steaks in catchup, mayo, and mustard. I was wondering if you cooked a steak the same way but with steak and bbg sauces, like A1 and so on?
4:07 yes… turkey bacon smoked until crispy cooked in maple syrup
Hi, was just wondering after watching your sous vide chicken stroganoff and butter chicken. Can you mix the sauce and meat together, or is there a reason you keep them in separate bags? If I cant get a hold of table cream, is there some alternative?
Yo guga how about a dry age experiment in worsterchire sauce for 45 days
Guga makes everything look good, and I’m not even a big ranch fan myself
Guga always precook the bacon a little first that way it becomes more crisp & delivers a different texture that is a must
Hey Guga, thanks for your great videos.
After watching your videos, I have three requests for future videos:
- Please try some other cattle breeds than wagyu and American beef.
- How do you clean all your pans and other cooking ustensils so they continue to be so shiny ?
- Please cook a foie gras in a terrine using sous vide.
And yes I'll repeat those requests often. ;)
Any chance we get a1 sauce dry age? Or sousvide in a1 sauce? (Both would be a good experiment!)
pleaseeeee do a tajin seasoning experiment and a dry age in chamoy
You should make a best of the best experiment battle
When Guga starts to swear you know it's GOOOOOOD.
Eat with pleasure the most delicious dishes, enjoy every bite and every moment! Enjoy your meal!
I watched one of your old vids and you mention that you are open to suggestions on what to cook. I'm from Philippines and I am wondering if you could cook a sous vided chicken/pork adobo? I am wondering if cooking it sous vide would be great? Hope you consider. TIA
You should do a battle of the 10/10 would highly recommend experiments at the end of every year and find an annual winner and an all time best experiment
Hi bro I like all ur programs and just want to know what is call that in which ur boiling steak pls do let me know thks
Can you try to rehydrate afreeze dried steak with (i) onion and garlic juice, (ii) onion juice and (iii) garlic juice. Would love to see it done.
My favorite jalapeno cleaning hack is to just use a spoon. After slicing it in half, just use a spoon to scrape from the tip to the stem end and it will remove the seeds and the white membrane all in one move
Try Julio seasoning from Texas almost anyone down here has it in their cabinet somewhere
I'm enjoying your videos. I watched one were you cooked some rice, then some finely cut up meat, and stacked these together, one on top of the other, then you made a sauce and piped it on top in small peeked blobs. I can't find this video again, could you help me identify it? Many thanks from New Zealand.
You should try dry aging with Italian seasoning powder.
Would there be any chance we could get another experiment involving your home-made MSG *MSGuga* like a dry-age or a compound butter? As always, thanks for the videos.
How do you determine what temp and how long to sous vide things?
Season before cooking vs after... Also Lawry's garlic salt vs regular salt and garlic powder
I like to mix the sausage and cream cheese together with a packet of ranch dressing powder before stuffing into the peppers.
It elevates potatoes too; salt, pepper, ranch seasoning on some potatoes and green beans baked in the oven. It's delish with ranch seasoning.
I challenge you to try doing the same thing with Italian Dressing, and then do a comparison to see which salad dressing is the best to use over all to season; and late, which is best to be used in dry aging.
When making the compound butter, is the butter salted or unsalted?
Italian salad dressing powder works well on steak as well
