Hey Anthony, what extracurriculars are you doing this semester? Also, what would be your advice for a freshman pre med? Ps: Looking forward to your How I got into med school video ;)
Hi Jatin, thanks for your comment! My primary extracurriculars rn are volunteering at a free clinic, doing research in gerontology, and launching a DEI committee in my business program. I'd recommend you to join clubs that you are truly interested in rather than because they may look good on a resume. By doing so, you'll naturally feel passionate about your org work and as a result learn a lot more, which will help you talk about these experiences in the future. Wish you the best of luck in your first semester! And thanks for the med school comment, hope I'll be able to deliver ;)
Good luck with your first year!!! I'd say now is a good time! When you're a freshman, most orgs know you are trying new things and won't give you too much work, so it's pretty doable to balance multiple orgs with your classes. Once second semester comes, and as you go into your sophomore year, orgs start expecting you to contribute more. At that point, you'll need to evaluate where you want to dedicate your time. Hope this helps, let me know if I can clarify anything
Love this so much!
