Lived in area with farms n dairies n ocean and forest so we all found work. Still was looked down upon. All live in same area. No casinos and that jazzy stuff. And our men joined the military. Two Marine brothers in Vietnam. Son a marine. Daughter Air Force. Six kids all did ok. I’m not complaining just saying it hurt to be called, dirty, lazy, stupid.. we grew up did best we could. I was a Indian Aide for 20 years. Grade K-8. Great small school. Good small town. But I remember those days. Hated them. Way behind me but wouldn’t want to live in today’s world.
