I am 80 years old and will never forget a early morning, at age 5 1/2, as I tossed and turned, a soft light appeared and Jesus stood by my bed, smiled beautifully, and showed me His scars. I was the prodigal son for some 25 years, but my Lord, my Heavenly Father welcomed me back with open arms of love. He used me mightily since serving Him as a deacon, elder, and a light to others! Amazing how the message that the man in the story is preaching never changed. Really points to the sufficiency of Scripture.
Faith is from hearing Gods word. God changes hearts.
Upon rejection, he says no but listen…and repeats the same message!

Even in my time of religious doubt, this song forever remained my favorite song. So simple yet powerful sung by such a powerful voice. To this day I get chills hearing the tale of our Lord in these blessed words.

I had a friend at school that was an atheist and through conversation he eventually gave his life to Christ. Coincidentally this was the first Christian song he ever heard. With him not knowing much worship music this was a repeated song on our trips to church and back.
When I want experience Jesus here on earth, I listen to David Phelps and am blessed! Thank you Lord !!!

The most amazing and moving performance I have ever heard.
I first heard this when my sister introduced me to David Phelps and she chose this song to play for me and I played it for a week straight over and over singing at the top of my lungs. I agree I sent this song to my son who is with Christ as my brother And he was so moved by this song he sent it to our pastor at 11:30 at night and said our worship team needs to be singing this song!

I had never heard this sing before and I'm glad. Now that I've heard David sing this praise to God, I don't want to hear anyone else sing it. You can see the Holy Spirit in David's face when he sings it and each time I hear it, I cry like a baby. There's no doubt that David is a man of grace and of God.
