Ide Flex Resurrector cable. The ide to sd boards are limited to 128gb but the external sata install doesn't have that limitation.

Its incredible how they STILL make new hardware stuff for the PS2 after so many years. Just says alot how much people loved that thing and how much they want it back.
Its actually more of you cant do much on consoles the more modern they are, cause they are more blocked or already have anything you would want from modern tech standard, like ps3, it already has hdmi and internal storage drives, all it needed for sure was cfw, what else are we going to add to it?
@@erwinamanciosilva7693 yup. It's fun to push limits on older hardware but on newer consoles there really isn't anything to do
The PlayStation 2 is legendary, still playing it to this day! Such a massive library of games too! Awesome job. Me like it.
Waited ages for this video. So stoked to finally see this installed and in action. Huge well done for taking all the time to get this done 💪 can’t wait to try it myself!
I also can't wait to repeat this project.
Such an incredible mod! 2TB internally on a PS2, didn't dare even dream of that back in the day! Absolutely love this 😍
Don't forget, SanDisk makes a 1.5tb micro SD card
@@solidsnakeandgrayfox yeah I saw recently!
Wow that's great work. Awesome video man, really like this new format. Very professional, you've grown.
Blessings to you, my brother!
Love the tutorials you keep putting out. They really helped me out a lot. Thanks for your hard work. Keep on keeping on.💪
Good work Modzville!
Great video. That hot plate is boss
That is AMAZING!!!! If I had a PS2 I would get this done too! And now is the BEST TIME what with the SUPER LOW Price of SSDs!! Thanks for sharing this!! :D
You need to make an in depth version of this video like ordering on the pcb website and showing the install step by step🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🐐
Already on order. Thanks, boss.
You sound dead on like a much cooler McLovin. I like it. Sub earned.
Right next to the fan too for perfect ventilation, doesnt even need a heatsink! NICE. 😎
Amazing work as usual, my friend..you’re a lawwwd amongst men.
Amazing work very well done
Great video
Great in depth content. I'm a ps2 pro and I just learned a few tricks
Wow duud youre a ps2 pro boo wayyyy
Amazing job bro
These slim mods are getting more and more impressive......but I'll stick with the plug and play Phat👌🏿
well done video man
That clear SHELL is freaking awesome where did you get that ???
This is a really cool mod! I've only ever owned "one" PlayStation console, a PS2 Slim... which I only bought just under 5 years ago on eBay, used... "just" the console, for ONLY 22 bucks (I bought a genuine PS2 power brick two days later, for 12 bucks). I just looked at my PS2, and it's on that list you showed... so I guess I have another mod to do (first, I have to finish the mod on my Sega Dreamcast: GDEMU + HDMI mod - and battery holder, as well as the Nactua (sp?) fan upgrade)!! 😁 The DC is about 25 years old... I may have to replace the caps, too (ugh)! 🙄
I always wonder with all of these mods if the OG hardware designers (Sony/Nintendo/Sega/NEC/Whatever) look at this and just takes shots when ALL of those sleepless nights/hardwork bypassed/extended in ways they never, ever expected. Or, maybe they did? They seem to be really clever dudes.
God, i wish my grip wasn't so naturally shakey. I love soldering, but I can't really do it on mega small components.
With the HDMI mod, that would be a killer.
No! PS2 should be mated with a CRT
Gorgeous. Too bad it doesn't work on the 7900X models, but I can probably just load my games from a NAS at that point.
This is what I do, but I have an issue with sound in cutscenes in some games. Tried different computers, switch, different versions of McBoot/OPL, files, BIOS, settings in OPL and nothing change. Videos are smooth, gameplay is perfect, but sound skips in cutscenes.
I waited for ages for someone to think of finding an adapter for M2 and I waited You can't imagine how happy I am at the moment, my second I will make PS2 without an SD card but on M2 1-2TB
Excellent work! That clear case looks perfect for this.
You got the HDMI mod and mechapwned it. You got the ultimate PS2
Yoooo! I need this!!
bro ou hae sick man i wish i wasnt a brokie id love to be blessed by your skill
Will you be building any of these for sale? I would love this with a Retro Gem.
You can also get around the 128GB SD card limit by using an IDE to CF adaptor and a CF to SD adaptor
Do you have a source on that? Tried on Dreamcast and only legit cf worked
@@ModzvilleUSATried it myself. Works perfectly
@@ModzvilleUSAused a cheap IDE to CF adaptor and an iFlash CF to SD adaptor.
@@MichaelM28 nice! Do you have pics? I might try that
@@ModzvilleUSATo clarify I'm using the adaptors in a PS2 Fat. I'm not sure how to make it work in a Slim model.
This video was phenomenal, dude.
Hey buddy hope you are doing well
as cool as the tip of your soldering iron was - benchmarks vs freemcboot
Dude, amazing job on this one! Not just the mod, but the video too!
Could you make a detailed step by step
guide / video so others can achieve this? I’d love to have an internal drive over 128gb whilst retaining the disk drive, this appears to be the only way to do so.
You are a ps2 mod master! Top quality content. Thank you
The Dark Souls music :)
Hi, please tell me if this method has any advantages compared to the IDE to SSD adapter from the previous video? Except for the size of the board.
The beauty.
This is awesome
I need this in my life, but don't know if I could accomplish this myself
Man I need to get some of these made, but want to find a way to clean up the cut area a bit more, those dimples for disk removal make for a difficult clean cut. BTW was that my iflash rumor from the machonacho comments? If not, I'd love to see where else this is being discussed, as I thought of this a few weeks ago, soldered one in to no avail, but haven't had time to troubleshoot it. Hadn't seen anyone else discussing it but would love to see someone else who had luck with this!
I first heard tale of it in the pixelfx discord. Gusse tried it as well and couldn’t get it working. I’m going to try some experiments soon along with some others. This Sd liberated issue will get sorted eventually for sure
Was gonna buy the PS2 mod that restores IDE but then I found out that it was closed source and even if I DID want to support a closed source project, the dev has been out of stock for MONTHS. This is a godsend since it's freely available to anyone. PLEASE bro I wanna donate to him does he have any PayPal links or Ko-Fi? He deserves my money for what he's done.
Is the voltage regulator you cut in the ps2 or did you need to order it? Also you don’t need the resurrector from Gusse do you? Everything used in this video came from Saints Fall?
Man id love to put this in my ps2 but the lack of a kit leaves me eerie. Ill go for the micro sd card mod
Bro. I love that you took 2 days and got what you’ve been waiting for for years. Kudos to you for making it happen!
Unbelievable skill! That was so much fun to watch!!
This is how legendary playstation is. I mean I don't see this dedication in Xbox series...
I would pay someone to do an HDMI mod with this.
Would be nice for a fat ps2 since I don't have the modem or hdd
I think that the ideal ps2 slim will be when, in addition to m2ps2, the internal power supply is built into the console. Quite surprisingly, I did not find information about such a modification. Is everyone really happy with this brick on a wire the size of half a PS2? After all, slim is primarily valuable for its compactness. This problem was removed in the 9000x series, but these consoles are not suitable for SSD/SD card mods.
How is this different to the M2 SSD PS2 video you did a few months ago?
This onee keeps the disc drive.
Which versions of the PS2 slim can be compatible?
Would this mod be compatible with the internal hdmi mod released recently?
I cover that in the video.
How would I get in contact with you or Saints Fall? Is it possible to comment on the german board you linked because it won’t let me make an account. I need help with this mod😅
Does it work with an 8TeraByte ?
So, I am having trouble with PCBway understanding how to make the board and flex. I have sent them the gerber files and whatnot. Any help would be appreciated!
It must be some kind of unwritten rule that you have to spin the disk drive with your finger when you open it.
at least 18TB is needed for all official games ever released, this ultimate jukebox is already possible with a fat PS2
Yeah if you doubles for every Region. 8tb is more than enough for US and Region exclusives.
Exfat OPL is also buggy still. I prefer this 2tb slim
I've got a fat PS2 with a DMS4 Pro that quit booting Toxic OS. It freezes at around 25% when attempting to reflash it. Do you know much about those chips? It's real, I bought it when the DMS4 Pro was first released.
i'm here my lord
Do you think in theory i could put opl on it
I'd love to do this. I just dont have any soldering experiece. I don't have the tools either. Still collect PS2 games though. If anyone willing to help, I'll be willing to compensate for the work.
I wonder if a variation can be done on a fat PS2. OPL sucks and with the exception of Grimdoomer, it almost feels abandoned.
I want one!!
does it run ps1 games ISOs?
5:06 Hey I have a question, I plan to buy this clear shell from Aliexpress, you mention they have some issues, is it both for the 70000 and 90000 clear shell on Aliexpress, my console is a slim 90002, what actually is the problem for these clear shells, I read the discs don't spin up or somehting with these custom clear shells, could you give me a break down what issues with these clear shells before I buy one. Thanks.
Does it take an advantage of the speed of the M2?
it can't, it depends on which version of ide is used how fast the real speed is but m2 speed is totaly out of the question
Dude❤
Can I put SSD 2tb intrnl on Xbox 360 super slim
yeah if it's rgh'd
@@ModzvilleUSA ok My Xbox 360 is JTAG not rgh'd
The only way to make it faster is custom hardware
Just now saw this, please ignore the tweet, lol
VOILA
You can't even use it with later PS2 Slim models? Pretty useless then considering later slim models are faster and more efficient.
i ran a m.2 in my pc for my OS with a fan directly pointed at it no heatsink. long story short it overheated and failed and also did damage to the motherboard. my point is these get extremley hot while being accessed for long periods of time and im wondering the longevity of this mod as well as the possibility of damage to the dvd drive or other components nearby. disc warp i would also be concerned with if one was actually to spin a disc in the unit while m.2 was at operating temps.
No they do not. They are intended to operate hot. Just say you bought a green Intel pcb one on discount instead of lying about perfectly fine products
@@Weneedaplague First off I don't speak broke boy, it was a Samsung 970. Second off, They are made to have heat sinks on them. Why don't you be quiet and let the people using their brains handle this. "MaDe To OpErAtE hOt" haha yeah dummy that is what I'm saying 😂
@@Weneedaplague- stop being a dick
I’m going make a wild guess here and say that heat wouldn’t necessary be an issue with this mod due to the limited bus speed of the PS2’s architecture not getting close to saturating the max speed the m.2 drives can handle. The controller chip wouldn’t have to work very hard, staying well within reasonable temps.
How much would you charge for that system if you ever sold it?
A lot
Compared to MX4SIO this method is not worth the effort by far.
ide shits on mx4sio. Way better compatibility and no fmv skipping.
Does regular FMCB work and is compability like on Fat with the network adapter? If so then it’s much better than MX4SIO.
@@Estmusic323 this is an ide mod so yes it’s basically a fat with a network adapter. FMCB would have worked fine. I just wanted to use a DMS4 in this build
Waste of an M.2 speed and awkward to toss games on. IDE ribbon to SD would be way easier wouldn't it? PS2 redump is like 16TB (3.5TB USA, no demos, no proto) so you're not gaining anything with M.2 either as that size isn't available and the bus can't handle the speed anyway. Either you have to put games on one by one, or dump the set. Plus you can use multiple SD cards, and they're like 10$ for 128gb. If you want more storage, an SMB 1 networked Rasberry Pi with a large sata drive in an enclosure dedicated to the PS2 is your easy and cheaper option. Cool project but impractical I think.
Wozu
Awesome mod, but this one isn’t for me. Way too much brain damage. Beyond impressed how easy’ish you made it look.
牛逼
Don’t give me any ideas man
But the NVMe will never reach its top performance... the poor Emotion Engine wouldn't be able to process such speeds. You won't see a difference between this and an SSD. That's a terrible waste of money and time
Apart from that, don't worry, your video was good, I enjoyed it
Try fitting a standard SSD in the case. I'll wait...
No disrespect, but it look fake.
bro, I won't lie. I watch your videos just for the bad ass intro
