That’s my Tuesday Night team name “Knock em Down” lol. I can’t wait till I get a video sent in good enough to be analyzed by Coach Art. I’m ready to walk the walk!
Hey Art! This is Al Garner Sr, from Atlanta Ga. I have Really enjoyed your videos, and they have helped me tremendously with my mechanics. Where are you located? Do you actually teach one on one bowling sessions?
Regarding the first bowler, I couldn't tell from the cropping of the video but it raises an important policy which is children should not be on the approach except when bowling. Adults too, but it is much more dangerous for children.
@@CoachManzo I had an experience about 15 years ago where some grandparents took their young grand kids bowling on the lane next to us. They were all on the approach wandering around, sometimes into our lane. We had to quit out of fear of unintentionally running them over.
@@drwisdom1 These days I don't expect ANY lane courtesy whether it's casual or competitive. About 85% of the bowlers in my leagues jump each other all the time. Same with most regionals with their one pair courtesy. Everyone gets jumped there too.
@@SirJoelsuf1 I once was in a league with two lane courtesy and it really slows down a five man league and makes it more stressful to bowl. Two lane courtesy should never be used. Over 43 years I have been in many leagues that used one lane courtesy. Once in a rare while it is a problem, almost always due to an inexperienced sub. It happens so seldom I just wait and don't care. One lane courtesy keeps the flow going smoothly. I think idiots spilling drinks is more of a problem than one lane courtesy violators. Go back 25 years and you know what was really bad about bowling? Many bowlers were smoking cigarettes and it was a reeking smoke pit and you left smelling that way.
Thanks for the great videos, Art A question- Despite years of knowing about & trying to fix not staying under/behind the ball, I can’t seem to remedy. With that, how much does my foot speed, etc matter ? Thanks !
foot speed is for speed...which we are going to be covering soon....staying under the ball is stop thinking you have to come around the ball so much to hook it....learn to stay behind it....practice spinning the ball in place on a hard surface get the feeling of spinning the ball forward off your hand....
Hi coach, I would like to ask if it is necessary to lower the weight of my ball from 15 lbs to 14-13. I am 5’7” male with 85 kg body weight but my arms and wrists are much thinner.. thanks
@@angkelkulafu6332 A good pro, grips, and a removable thumb hole makes it easy to throw 16 pounds. If you have to squeeze due to loose holes or a poor fit it is hard.
And I am SO JEALOUS of these bowlers who can point their slide foot to the right, mine always points to the left and it is straight up ruining my game...my swing plane is perfect but that's the ONLY good part about my game lol. Same with the timing, my timing is SUPER late. Like I could take ten steps to throw the ball and I'll STILL not move the ball until my last three steps lol, never knew how to change that haha

@Roberto Manzo Hey Roberto, do you consider yourself a 4 or 5 step approaches bowler?
5 step my first step is actually a 6in slide to get me into motion
If you want I can send you the side view if you want to see it

He wasn’t on the approach the camera was on a tripod so it exaggerated his actual location

I'll be 66 next week, am 155 lb (70 kg), and 5'9". I have throwing 16 pound balls since 1979, never less.
@@drwisdom1 omg grandpa.. how did you managed it? I felt my ball is too heavy for me that is why my speed is only 11-12 kmh..

@Angkel Kulafu I would go down to 14lbs for the extra ball speed...also no one has ever gotten hurt using a ball too light for themselves
