I know that 5.0s set up with boost by mph and a 2.75 100-150mph on this setting - the back half on a race like that will be ignorant as hell. And running mid 30s psi on the street here and seeing him reel em in like that, idk. That FFRE can sing up to 9000-9400rpm, I wouldn’t see the C7 catching him up top. Maybe one day we’ll see it.

This video perfectly captures the basic mechanical difference between a roots blower and turbos as it relates to power. All else being equal this is exactly what should have happened. It would be interesting to see a z06 or Camaro with a centri setup (properly set up and tuned) run this mustang.

Yes you can brake boost and that does create something of an offset but you can play this game on a dyno and see quite plainly that the “insta” torque thing is in fact a real thing comparatively when talking a roots setup. To be clear I’m not saying that it’s better, it’s not IMHO. Why I said it would be interesting to see a centri setup run against this turbo car. Centri bring some of the advantage of a turbo with out the lag-bottom. Run on this 416 the 100plus ci displacement advantage (all torque advantage) against the much bigger boost potential in the twin would be a cool race (assuming all else equal and similar hp output - seems this mustang might be up 800-900hp if other comments about it are true so not really a class to class race)

Corvettes have a long standing history of winning titles and championships in drag, Le Mans, SCCA, and IMSA races world wide, even the ZL1 1LE holds one of the quickest lap times around the Nurenburgring, the 6th gen Camaro SS 1LE is still a better handling car than the s650 Mustang with the performance pack. The Mustang has had its share of victories too, the GTD is definitely a great GT car, obviously coyote V8’s are a force to be reckoned with on the street, it’s sad looking at these comments seeing all these people who take internet drag racing so serious and don’t understand the holistic racing capabilities of either car Mustang or corvette… a lot of these guys are running on limited knowledge, probably don’t even have cars to race themselves and it shows… both cars did great and made awesome power, I love seeing 5.0’s race, these cars really handle boost well. All this im the fastest from 30-130 or 60-160 is great and everything but for me it doesn’t match the old fashioned joy of 0-150+ running out 660’ or 1000’ from a good old flashlight or arm drop.
