I suppose that show helped keep me from ever becoming a racist or not having diverse friends in my life. so, thank you to the Jefferson's.
Right? I always wondered why George had a problem. My mother is Mexican and my father is white so it was a similar dynamic. It was normal to me. I watch today and I crack up still.
They did the same thing to Hart to Hart. Just ended after the 5th season without warning. No wrap up the relationship or the show. At least they got their movies. That made up for it, kinda.
The Jeffersons: I hate when a successful show is cancelled and the cast finds out via every other way but the right way. Happy Days: Henry hated working with Roz Kelly.
@Jeremiah Woodsi Notice that the shows that the critics love such as MASH, Cheers, and Seinfeld when they aren’t even funny. Notice also how the audiences love the shows critics loathe such as The Jeffersons, Brady Bunch, and Happy Days, and they cause the shows to be number 1 despite critics’ feelings otherwise. I loved The Jefferson when I was a kid. I remember looking for the show - when I couldn't find it in its normal line-up. Was shocked to see the show had been cancelled.
I do not think the Jefferson cast was ever really mad at each other but at the producers and while Isabelle was the initial star Sherman did deserve equal pay
It's ironic how all of these sitcoms like The Jeffersons and Happy Days were such big hits (Like the show "Friends") that made CBS a LOT of money but they didn't get half the money those characters on "Friends" did at 1 Million an episode. Times have sure changed!

Happy Days was about the Father/ son relationship. The other characters were used to bring situations in and out of the son's life. The first two seasons reflected this. The next year, which was live in front of an audience, enlarged Fonzies role. Toward the end of that season it was leaning on the Fonzie character. After that, the show was off the mark. It just went on a trajectory far from it's foundation.
My crush on Valerie Bertinelli was real. She was only two years younger than me but back then like today 17 and 19 sounds too old by accepted standards. Not accepted till she reached 20.

I wonder why it wasn't mentioned that Isabel was 20 or 21 years older than Sherman. So in theory, she was old enough to play his mother. Not sure if one of them looked older or the other looked younger because when I read that I was very surprised. Never would've guessed that. And Sherman seemed like such a gentle and kind person so I was equally surprised to read he turned into a heavy alcoholic in his later years. It was also rumored that he was gay which would explain why he might've drunk a lot. Not healthy keeping secrets.
I never knew that. I feel sad for him now. Life can be so hurtful at times. I wish he would have had a better ending but he sure had a fun middle. So many people loved him. He was fantastic as George Jefferson 👏 ❤
That was a really low cutting way to handle letting the actors of "The Jeffersons" know that the show had been cancelled. Really so outrageously wrong!
happens that way to most actors and crews, just as it does in corporate "life"; we are all expendable except for politicians and all their nepotism. Like vampire characters, they never die!
"The Jeffersons" lost some of its charm in the later years of its run. There was one season (can't remember which) where the Louise character's wardrobe was downright trashy, with her spilling out of any upper garment she was wearing. They changed that by the following season; however, it is too bad that it was ever allowed to begin with.
Cream of the Crop, I disagree. In my opinion, the show never lost it's charm. The later years were just as good as the earlier years. In fact, many of my favorites are from the later years.
Cream of the Crop, I disagree. The show still had a lot of charm. In fact, the later years are my favorite and the later years had higher ratings. But the show was great/charmed from the beginning til the end. And Louise was never trashy. She has always been classy and elegant.
An interviewer mentioned to Eddie Van Halen his resemblance to Valerie and he quipped, "Why do you think you never see us together?". Diamond Dave thought Valerie was Yoko. Mom, make Wolfie wolf down that weight loss stuff you advertise.
Truth I always liked Ron Howard very Talented as a child and on up.without him and Don knotts The Andy Griffith Show was not funny .when Don left I stop watching it nothing funny at all. Those two made that series work.the others were ok but didn't stand out to me,, u know some Actors like Ron Howard and Don knotts will always be missed on that show .
I wasnt born when these sitcoms aired on television but I definitely watched them in syndication.
