    Jefferson's was a ground breaking show, I absolutely loved it! The wit was so sharp and clever, I still laugh watching it even today. They deserve ALL the accolades and such an under appreciated show by its very own network, which is weird and very sad.

      +Big “DenySelf” Papa I know, big time. And I cant believe like even WAY back then that one executive thought there'd be riots. Come on. I dont care what anyone says. I LOVED the 80's! EVERYONE got along. Sure there were some exceptions, but nothing like we have today.
      Oh, and Sherman Hemsley's walk....that was awesome!! I remember watching this show as a kid, in my pajamas (a 1 piece with the feet in them lol) strutting around the house like Geroge Jefferson!

      +tellurye You would have loved the 50's/60's then, No wars, no conflict until the early 60's and that was quickly squashed. What a wonderful time to grown up, I enjoyed every second of it and the 60's was even better, LOL.

    • @tellurye
      @tellurye 8 років тому +4

      Christine Fougere yeah, because all the drugs lol!! Civil rights arguments, communism bullshit, drugs - no thanks - Ill pass on the 50's and 60's - although I love the jazz during that era.
      Im not saying the 80's were perfect; far from it. But it seemed like we mostly got along, even more so than in the 60s. which was the decade of love. I remember when folks had interracial friendships, significant others, health, fitness was all the craze, technology was making big booms, TV series was the best! (Simon and Simon, Eight is enough, different strokes, A-Team, Matt Houston).
      Everything rocked in the 80's. Some folks blame Reagan for aids, As if he created it. What a joke. Those were awesome times back then.
      Now, if you walk down the street and so much as accidentally bump into a black or a Muslim, you are "racist" and will be on CNN every 30 min. Never mind that other groups can commit hate crimes , and they arent reported, unless they are the "evil white racist race"

      @Jeremiah Woodsi Notice that the shows that the critics love such as MASH, Cheers, and Seinfeld when they aren’t even funny. Notice also how the audiences love the shows critics loathe such as The Jeffersons, Brady Bunch, and Happy Days, and they cause the shows to be number 1 despite critics’ feelings otherwise. It shows you how out of touch the elitists are.

    • @micahsquires5649
      @micahsquires5649 2 роки тому +1

      @Bryant Strickland Sr. Those must be fun memories. My father would watch Seinfeld, but I found it hard to follow. I don’t care for the shows critics rave over like MASH, Cheers, Seinfeld, Golden Girls, Friends, or The Office. Those shows interest me as much as watching paint dry on a wall. I also don’t like that they don’t focus on reaching families. Sitcoms like The Jeffersons, Good Times, Happy Days, Diff’rent Strokes, Facts of Life, and Family Matters aimed at reaching families. Shows that are family-orientated are always the best shows.

    Happy Days was about the Father/ son relationship. The other characters were used to bring situations in and out of the son's life. The first two seasons reflected this. The next year, which was live in front of an audience, enlarged Fonzies role. Toward the end of that season it was leaning on the Fonzie character. After that, the show was off the mark. It just went on a trajectory far from it's foundation.

    I wonder why it wasn't mentioned that Isabel was 20 or 21 years older than Sherman. So in theory, she was old enough to play his mother. Not sure if one of them looked older or the other looked younger because when I read that I was very surprised. Never would've guessed that.
    And Sherman seemed like such a gentle and kind person so I was equally surprised to read he turned into a heavy alcoholic in his later years. It was also rumored that he was gay which would explain why he might've drunk a lot. Not healthy keeping secrets.

    "The Jeffersons" lost some of its charm in the later years of its run. There was one season (can't remember which) where the Louise character's wardrobe was downright trashy, with her spilling out of any upper garment she was wearing. They changed that by the following season; however, it is too bad that it was ever allowed to begin with.

    • @renealexander2703
      @renealexander2703 2 роки тому

      Cream of the Crop, I disagree. In my opinion, the show never lost it's charm. The later years were just as good as the earlier years. In fact, many of my favorites are from the later years.

      Cream of the Crop, I disagree. The show still had a lot of charm. In fact, the later years are my favorite and the later years had higher ratings. But the show was great/charmed from the beginning til the end. And Louise was never trashy. She has always been classy and elegant.
