I don't have anything against this ship, I really don't, but almost all of these moments aren't really "AppleSpike Moment"s. They are just moments where the characters have some sort of interaction with each other. It doesn't really pointed to anything more between them.

You know, you missed an AppleSpike moment in the early seasons, my personal favourite, in fact, and also one of the most intimate interactions that they ever have. In Over a Barrel, when the rest of the Mane Six and Braeburn run into the desert, then meet Rainbow, Pinkie and Spike going the other way, it's interesting to note which of the outgoing ponies is first to approach which of the incoming characters. Fluttershy leaps onto Pinkie Pie, knocking her over. Then Twilight and AJ trot over to Rainbow and Spike, and hug them. Twilight walks over to Rainbow, but AJ goes straight to Spike, not even looking at anyone else, and nuzzles his face with her cheek. He, in turn, sees her coming, throws his arms wide and leans right into the embrace. AJ's approach starts at 12''37', and by 12''40' the hug is over and they are looking into each other's eyes. It's only three seconds of footage, but there's more AppleSpike fuel in this one scene than the rest of the early seasons put together (Excluding Spike at Your Service, of course).
Three things: 1. It was Bride of Discord that made me realise I really enjoy this ship. 2. Notice Twilight's face when Spike hugs Applejack at his birthday. She totally ships them. 3. When Applejack calls Spike "loverboy" have you seen the meme that came from it, where she kisses him? It's dead cute.
looking back at s1 and s2 applejack makes me want to die inside a little bit. her voice is just so different, like my god it got so much deeper later on. i definitely prefer her now voice, though.
She puts it in most of her fanfics though and I respect that. While I dont ship it the way she writes it is cute! (liked it in Precious Blood especially, Spike got to really shine there :)

Oh god! That scene where Spike is scratching Applejack's back. Beyond that single provocative thought, I was pleasantly reminded about this episode's great elements. One, it adds a cool new mythical creature complete with 3D animation. And two, has a great moral about being honest, being courageous, and just being a friend. But I also remember how Spike is inexplicably incompetent in that episode.

yes spike is a child but in pony years he is about 16 that means at start of the show he could be 13 14 or 15

I had the same reaction the first time I saw it. The whole scene happens so quickly that you don't have time to focus on the small details.
