The one I used to have must've been pre-owned or something because it didn't have the head strap or the little stand. So, aside from my face buried in the table & the thing plugged into a wall socket, 3:01 is pretty much what I did.
I wonder if they didn't have full color because the lenses would lead to chromatic aberration, and they wanted to make the thing as cheap as possible, so they didn't want to have to invest time and effort into developing a more complex optical system to offset the effects of chromatic aberration. Or they were just insane.

Never owned the Virtual Boy, but have played an emulator of it and it was still messing with my eyes badly. Like I feel like Nintendo forgot what the term portable meant when coming up with the thing lol
I know this is old in all, but I’m surprised that you actually remember the thing ( considering that you said you were eight years old on the original Xbox came out, correct me if I’m wrong on that ) because in 96 when I just turned seven I used to play it constantly at my local mall.
Back in the 90s I believe it was when Blockbuster was such a big thing I happened to walk in there and I seen the Virtual Boy thing sitting on display and I happen to try it out, and I must say I was not very impressed myself

SEGA of Japan squashed the chance of a collaboration, however that was voted as number 2, number 1 is rushing the Saturn. it was $100 more expensive than the first Playstation

I have played virtual boy games with the use of an emulator. And I liked some of them like Mario clash, panic bomber, and wario land. I play them in black and white.
ive trained my eyes for a long time, id like to put my eyes on a challenge, this would be fun, but its rare and my parents are broke, theyd kick me out of the house again.

Trivia: Sega originally planned a VR system using the same tech but after hearing about risk of seizures they passed so Nintendo used it instead.
