I had a minor surgery recently and taking off from the gym for a month was really hard. And I tried going back a couple times and it kinda fucked up my recovery a bit. So definitely wait until you're completely healed! Especially with such a major surgery. Also thanks for sharing about planned parenthood. Just recently I was saying to my dad that PP did other things besides abortion (which I'm 100% pro choice) and he didnt believe me 🙄. Anyway love your outfit and makeup look, hope you enjoyed tea. 💜

Hi, I was scrolling back through the last few days of my YT subscription notifications and despite being low on time, decided to procrastinate my tasks and click on this video. I'm glad I did (although I'm usually glad to see a video from you; this year I've been glad to see more of your fun makeup tutorials). Like you, I am high risk for breast cancer and also like you, had to put off for a few months my yearly round of different types of imaging. Now, thankfully, my imaging will take place this week. Having watched this video and seen your composure (even if internally you might be freaking out) and watching you go through the familiar rituals of makeup application and creativity despite the hurdles to come makes me feel more prepared for if I get similar news or worse. You sharing your experience has helped me, and will probably help others. Thank you. I hope after your surgeries and recovery you will continue to make content here (and on your classic blog, which I didn't realize until I subscribed last year was from the same creator as your channel here)!
I'm so glad that you're able to do your imaging ASAP! I'm sorry to hear you also have to go through the yearly round of stressful imaging + extra imaging. I've done a lot of crying and being scared off camera. The waiting between the 2nd set of imaging and talking to my doctor was the worst. Now that I've spoken to her and we've got a plan (I'm speaking to a top breast surgeon), I feel a little calmer about this. It's still a hell of a surgery to go through, but I'm grateful to be doing it now before things are worse. I plan to continue to make content here, I love it! I'm still updating my blog, just less often than I used to. People don't comment on blogs very much anymore; more people comment here on UA-cam, in the Facebook group, or on Instagram. So I tend to focus my efforts where there's more interaction. I don't know how long I will be recovering from the surgery though.

I'm actually relieved to have an "excuse" to get regular and different types of screenings (since my mid-30s) because I am rubbish at figuring out what I am feeling in a breast self-exam. All the natural tissue lumps may as well be tumors to my fingers/mind, and it gives me anxiety to not know what I'm touching. If in the next few years I find myself facing a similar choice as your now, I might consider it a blessing in disguise to reduce anxiety long-term. But that's speaking only for me, reflecting on my own situation. All the feelings you describe--including the feeling of unreality you hinted at in the video--sound extremely relatable and expected to me. I think you are doing brilliantly including any bouts of sobbing that may come upon you. I'm glad you found good doctors. I'm so glad you have a creative outlet in the social media platforms on which you are a creator! I admit I am guilty of never commenting on blogs these days 😶, even though I still visit makeup blogs a few times a week via Google searches for specific products. I too prefer YT for long-form content and ability to interact with others in a centralized location. Can't wait to see more of your videos. As you go forward with your procedures, please carry with you the earnest best wishes and warm thoughts of many people, including me!

I lost my insurance recently and I really need to get on the ball of filling out an application it sucks. Everything medical wise is a pain in the butt but we all run into problems with health sooner or later and we need to take care of ourselves. Anyways your beautiful and I hope you can get your surgery sooner than later and that it's successful and you have a fast recovery.

Tampa's population has exploded since COVID. Our hospitals can't keep up with the demands, so everything is overloaded and taking longer here than expected.
This look is absolutely perfect! I'm sorry about what you're going through...so much in such a short period of time. It seems like you have a good team of doctors, and I know they, and you, are not making this decision lightly. Plus at 44 you are young and healthy and your recovery should hopefully be quicker than going through this surgery at, say, 64 instead. Sending healing vibes your way 💜
