- Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams had an up-and-down day in the team's preseason win over the Bengals on Saturday, but the ups were electric. Dan Wiederer and Adam Studzinski recap what we saw from Williams, who started rather slow and finished by showcasing fantastic playmaking ability. Meanwhile, the Bears defense continues to be rock solid and appears ready for the season. And how did the offensive line hold up?

If the Bears can get decent pressure with their Defensive Line They will be very scary. Because their second and third level are unforgiving. Match that with a top 10 RB and 3 number 1 Receivers. 2 top 15 tight ends and a quarterback that can make every throw and shows poise and maturity in the pocket.
Scary is the correct word. It's going to be a fun season.

Say what you will, but through most of the first two quarters Caleb Williams looked awful, although he did end up with two nice throws. But Kyler Gordon on defense and Tyson Bagent on offense, Wow! In my opinion those two stole the show. Bagent looked really good.
Was it Caleb that looked bad?
It’s not what he’s suppose to do it’s not a race to get as many plays off as you can as if it’s 48 sec left on your own 30 yard line with no timeout’s your not suppose act in that manner
I feel as though Williams be in to much of an hurry he runs a play gets the hurries in & out of the huddle to the line of scrimmage runs another play I hope he slows down & settle down
That’s what he’s supposed to do. Then Get to the line and quickly read what the defense is showing.

The offense wasn't very good in this game. Way too many three and outs. There should not be that many with the amount receivers on this team. Williams looked jittery going through his progressions. I want to see what happens when he gets hit hard.
It's also not the actual offense that will be called in the regular season. Preseason is just a time to try out different things.

@jeffjohnson6709 As you should. But you can admit Caleb has shown a certain skill-set this far that's not matched by most quarterbacks in the league without crowning this offense as Super Bowl contenders at this moment.

Both Bagent and Rypien made CW look like a practice squad place kick holder.
It's not his fault Rome didn't have his feet in bounds. You can't just look at stats. Have to look at the traits that CW has vs JF. It's night and day. CW is superior in almost every way. Give it time, you'll be convinced of it soon enough.

Smdh. No one was trashing JF after TWO PRESEASON GAMES!! Caleb's learning the offense as well as a lot that wasn't asked of him in college. Stats really don't matter in preseason, but if you really want to go there his WR botched the amazing roll to his right endzone throw and the Bengals DB prevented a huge throw and catch by essentially horsecollaring Scott after Caleb threw it right down the chimney!!
If you'd rather watch a QB that passes on wide open receivers and runs out of clean pockets to inevitably get himself hurt in his third year and doesn't have even a third of the pocket presence Caleb has through only two games, I think he's playing against Buffalo tonight.
