this is one of the top 1% of videos on the internet.... it explains MMO gaming so eloquently...so well produced....just INCREDIBLE. I don't play, I just appreciate the QUALITY. congrats guys. you WON HARD
I've been playing EVE for 10 years. It has been an amazing journey as a low-income solo pirate who has shared many memorable experiences with a wide variety of gamers. While it's true that on the outside, EVE can seem very intimidating to the average gamer. However, EVE is very much like a onion that has many layers that you will have to actively seek out and peel. This is really the difference between EVE and many other games in their genre. Those that hold your hand through the layers and those like EVE who give you all the tools to peel them. It's really up to you. In EVE, you are not born into heroism. You make your own destiny.
***** Play eve or go to the movies?? Not really much choice to be made there. Subscription fees aren't that much and you can actually fund your game play via ingame currency (no need to use a credit card at all) I've only been playing for a little over 6 years, I've made some great friends and some awesome ingame enemies. The most memorable times for me always involve a good fight alongside my excellent comrades. Win or lose (winning is better), just being in comms with people from all over the world, whether we be sitting on a gate camp joking around or in a more serious fleet out hunting or being hunted, being a part of something as big and diverse as the eve universe - Give me Eve anytime over a trip to the movies. NB; I'll wait till it comes to TV and watch it while out mining, lol.
I come back every once and awhile to watch this trailer. So wonderful. While EVE wasn't like this for me 24/7, I certainly experienced moments like this. In fact, when I saw it, I high-fived some of my old alliance-mates via text message (I'm taking a break right now) to let them know this trailer reminded me of them.
Eve is ABSOLUTELY this fun when you're in the right corp/alliance and truly experience what this game is all about! No its not 24/7 action, there are slow moments but the size and scale of the true PVP experience is always worth it! This is the most accurate trailer they have released to date and I believe this video best represents the excitement Eve really has to offer at its best moments. I think this is so true when the miner is harvesting the rare asteroid, That to some players it would be worth very little but to him, this is truly a great moment. You really just dont see that dynamic in many other games. Thank you CCP for this awesome game! I look forward to playing for many years to come ;)
I left the game recently due to the fact that my IRL simply takes up to much time. With the kid I had a 2 second AFK notification time, which could take 10 seconds or a couple of hours, which made pretty much any kind of PvP impossible. In the end I went out on my own, but that is not much fun in my book so my accounts lapsed just a few days ago :(
Kobodera I have a kid, and I know how it is. The game now a days can be played casually very easy especially with NPSI fleets. Jump on, X up, get into the fleet. PVP for as long as you are able to, log off. Hope you can find your way again. See ya
Kobodera thats why gate camps are not as lame as people think,,, to afk you just warp to your safe spot, use a cloak,, and come back to fleet when you get a chance.
this is the essence of a mmo. whether or not you experience this, it should at least give you goosebumps to watch. I tried EVE online, and I did not experience this type of excitement on a grand scale, but it was easy to see the possibilities even on a 7 day trial.
I suggest yuo to return, eve now is really changed a lot and it is really funny more than first....but i agree, the 2004-2008 was really a fantastic years for playing eve
Having been away form this game for a year now I can see how intimidating it would be to a new player. I think that needs to be addressed to bring in new people.
Personally I usually either hold my head trying hard not to break down, or laugh at how stupid I am (because if I don't laugh I'll cry from frustration) when I die in EvE with lots of ISK on me xD
+Fps-Gaming-Productions do a search for Black Aces on youtube, and search for God forgives AAA does not and watch those videos...created by actual players.
One of the better trailers I have seen, some of the best fun I have ever had was actually in Teamspeak and Mumble lol, nice to see that represented here.
Honestly, I've been playing this game off and on for about 6 years, and while it was touch and go in the beginning I was able to wrap my head around it fairly quickly because I met some awesome people right off the bat. Ever since then it's been one of my favorite games, and I've met a ton of great people. Don't let people saying it's too hard deter you, just jump in, learn the ropes and find someone to help you - you'll get the hang of it in no time.
I have been playing 10 years and I still get the adrenalin hit every time I undock. Sure there are times I am sat spinning the ship in station, but the galaxy is a piece of art, and I get to fly in it.
I jumped ship on EVE some years ago, not the game for me, but i respect the players that play it. Truely remarkable game, there is no MMO like it. Kudos to the Video and to EVE's players.
I've seen thousands of ads for this game over the course of my life, and have never looked into it, I finally decided to look it up and found this. This game looks awesome.
Someone told me when I started playing that "the game is only as boring as you make it" and I absolutely believe that to be true even 2 years later. Eve Online is a fantastic game and a true sandbox. You've probably heard this a lot, but yes it does have a steep learning curve- however if you have friends to help you learn the game, eve online is so much more than anyone can ever describe to you. Or if you don't already have friends in game- join one of the many corps that teaches new eve players. You'll meet plenty of experienced eve players and plenty of new friends.
I am not an EVE Player, but damn...this trailer is sooooo awesome :3 makes wanna play this game so hard....;_; but I already have wow and lol and wanna stay with my friends xD keep up the good work, I love you eve guys
Why not bring all your wow guys to eve? My corp would definaty take you in and show you the ropes. there are plenty of others out tehre. too. Just avoid the guys who hate anyone who playsa agame other then eve and you should be fine. I love eve online. I love the immersion and the realistic ness of it all. I love the risk versus rewards. And i love how you gotta plan ahaed of you wanna win. Brin your wow guys with you. start trial accounts and try it out. Eve is a social game that is a shit tone of fun. But you gotta start it. Good luck
I'm not going to try and convince you to join, but you have the right to get a trial and try the game. The trial is only a tiny fraction of what the game is as a whole, who knows you might enjoy it so much more!
Maybe if you are simpleton it would be that easy. Eve is so many great things, and so many pitfalls all at the same time. Most people that don't like the game really wanted to like it. There are other games that have the things Eve doesn't, but they lack the depth that Eve has. So it's not just a "don't like it, don't play it" kind of thing.
WZW1982 Actually it kinda is. Because whether you like it or not (no pun intended), you have to decide.. play.. or no? Because EVE is what it is, and it is amazing for it. With or without those pitfalls, you have to decide in the end.. play.. or not play.
The depth of this game is amazing. Pick your profession, model your character in whatever you want him or her to become. Travel an alive universe which have no comparison in any mmo game. They really created a piece of art, I am stunned.
I've seen EVE trailers before, but this one was beyond epic. The fact that they used real players is awesome. I've thought about getting it, and one of my friends was in the battle at B-R5RB. Man I wish I had enough money to play this game.
Problem is that in reality .. you will spend 95% of the time roaming somewhere trying to find out one lonley noob in PVE ship to roflstomp him with your 8 friends. And if you are once a month lucky enough to find some "bigger battle" it will be more like turn-based spread sheet game with 5FPS and you will either survive or get steamrolled instantly 100 - 0 to the enemy team´s alpha strike. I ended up being either alone with "not much to do" or in corp where we usually spent 3 hours "seeking for PVP" until we all fell asleep and logoff.
5 year vet here for eve, and I have to say this is the best trailer I have ever seen. Just watching this and experiencing this first hand makes me want to play even more. Come to Null Sec my pretty's. The water's nice! I promise!
its easy to learn - and extremly hard to master. I play it for about 6 years now and i know only about 5% (max) about the game and its possibilitys. And its easy to play with an 5 year old computer. Just lower the graphics and everything is fine ;)
Can it be overwhelming? Yes for some People it can be. Some People experience a sort of information overload when they start playing. But the only real deciding factor in that is Intelligence. So you can end up with People who quit on their 1st, 2nd or 3rd day because they're frustrated with the game. But it's worth it if you can get through that. There's only one way to find out......... And that's by downloading the game and trying it out. If you're going to try out the free trial, you should sign up for an extended free trial. Basically if you sign up under the buddy program, if you buy a membership, who ever invited you will get certain rewards in the game. While you get an extended free trial.(21 days instead of 14. Which can be useful for getting a good footing in the game and deciding if you want to upgrade. I found it useful anyway when I first started playing) If you want My in game name. PM Me. My CEO might want you in the corp we play in. We're always looking for new People :) secure.eveonline.com/trial/?invc=b8566230-59f5-4160-9c43-171e4caede40&action=buddy I posted a link on your channel. Anyways about the graphics problem. I run with an AMD Radeon HD 8670D and I get by pretty easily. There are certain scenes in the game where I might get a FPS drop. But that's about it. And My graphics are 90% maxed out.
It's a sandbox that heavily relies on interaction with other players, both positive and negative. If you're looking for a pure PVE experience I'd say there's much better games out there but if you ARE looking for something to challenge you and force you to think and interact, there's none like it. It favours people who are capable & willing to put in active effort to learn and improve. It doesn't do hand outs, hand holding or rollercoaster type play style. You're going to fail, get hurt and messed up and then it's about fight or flight; give up or adapt & overcome.
callan wilson I have tryed to play Eve online many times just did not like how the flying in game is . wanted more freedom when it come to flying around and i can do that now as i read there a upcoming patch that adds in wsad keys for moving around .
Yoko Rose the desire for 'freedom of movement' is often lost once a better understanding of game mechanics is reached. setup your overview in a useful way and learn the game mechanics - they work quite well
pendraco2000 Absolutely nothing because it's a silly claim to make. By that logic, being in general exceptionally good at videogames would make one incapable of having negative opinions. If you truly believe a person would consider every game in the world awesome just because he's good at games, then you apparently have the mindset of a small child.
Sorry I played this game for about 6 months and I didn't see any of this. First month or two was spent doing boring PvE missions to get some cash. After that I joined a null sec corp and spent my time either killing NPC pirates or so called PvP where we spent 90% of the time warping from system to system and then maybe find a fight where the other group didn't warp out. But that was unlikely. Then I got bored of that and spent the rest of my time playing the market and made close to 1 billion. However it was so mind numbingly boring and the UI is is so hideously ugly that I quit and to this time I still have over a billion ISK on my character's account. The people I met, even in the corp I joined, were quite rude and un-helpful and I got scammed a couple of times. So, for me, Eve is not like this video. I wish it was but it is not.
It is, you were just lacking the right people, the right attitude and the right strategy, because obviously if people you want to attack are actually able to warp away you are doing something terribly wrong... ever heard of a HIC? Heavy Interdiction Cruiser; one bubble and everything except interceptors are f*cked. Unfortunately you are as well of the fleet coming in is more powerful than yours.
MrChimeratic Yeah so you need to find the right type of people to team up with. I joined maybe 3-4 corps and all pretty much was like I described except some were less PvP focused than other's. So that is probably why the above is not representative of the game as it seems to be pretty difficult to find a good corp. Also the hideous UI does not seem to improve as I was told it has been similar to what it is for years. Specially the fonts and the way you click this and that are pretty crappy. They need to hire some UI experts and overhaul the whole thing.
So in short you are an idiot? I played this game from 2006 until 2013, you start having fun when you stop caring about your virtual money. Find a good group of guys, go PVP. I have had some of my most memorable times in gaming with this game, joining a corp that was nothing that went became one of the most notorious small gang wormholers known as Aquila, forming Verge Of Collapse and going on to win the alliance tournament. This game is rewarding, you just need to actually play the game with the right attitude. I will return one day, if the game still exists in a few years. Until then, I shall continue to watch CCP develop it and read all the stories my old eve buddies send me on Skype.
Shakor77 I have to admit, this is exactly what I like about Eve: I like playing with jerks who just want to kill you because it adds another challenge to it. I´m not saying that everyone has to like Eve, it´s just my personal opinion. And if you don´t like it, that´s completely fine with me; I have no right to tell you what to play, we´re in a - mostly - free world after all...
This was honestly the best EVE Online promo I have seen to date. It got me playing again 8 years ago and I had gone on a break and watched this again a year ago and It hooked me in again lol
As a player since 2004, this is the BEST interpretation of Eve I've EVER seen! If I was a new player, this trailer would make me join NOW!!! OMG this definitely shows the best part of playing Eve Online! :D
I've been playing for little over a year and found the greatest fun in large multiplayer roams like those shown in the videos. For those new to EVE, I would try and master the smaller ships (frigates to cruisers). Those are the easiest to learn, cheap to make, nimblest and if you lose one it;s no big deal. Then get in with a medium sized alliance that does at least weekly roams. That makes a huge difference in the fun factor of the game.
Im a 2003 Capsuleer and I vouch for only the truth was said in this video. I love EVE online and even though i'm 30 i will still play it for many years to come. EVE has given me a different perspective in how to tackle problems/ideas in real life. I know i'm getting old but in EVE i'm immortal and my mind is free.
This is probably one of the best trailers ive seen for one of the best MMOs Ive ever played. Edge of my seat, huge grin on my face. Amazing seeing some of my favorite UA-cam names in this, congrats guys! Fly Safe! o7
I will never play this game. But, it and the people who play it, will always continue to fascinate me. Easily the best trailer I have watched all year. Pretty damn impressive for a game I'll never play.
Hey those gameplay voices represent how everyone should play MMOs with each other. It sounds like actual warfare tactics, like they're there! It's so cool!
It IS why it got voted the best PvP MMO of 2014... EVE requires that, else you just get slaughtered. Even low-key piracy PvP or faction warfare in low security space (where big alliances don't usually go) requires simple key communication with a friend or two, to help your odds in not biting off more than you can chew. Small scale warfare in EVE does easily boil often down to how many friends come to your aid. Especially if those friends do know the basics of PvP... :P Kinda key point.
***** Oh, and for that FW communication - it actually sounds like three-two guns specops. *Pshhhh* Got the point, novice beacon *Pshhh* Roger that, coming in ten au *Pshhhh*Calling Firetail primary *Pshhh* He's going out, I need one more web on him *Pshhhhh* Good job, guys. Now, on the way to the station.
My favorite part:
"Omg, that's a titan!"
"Oh sh*t!"
"DO NOT ENGAGE!"
shot it down!!!!!
What's the time stamp for that?

So what you're saying is...
EVE is like Shrek?
i want to know how much you paid for the 10 year subscription fee
***** Play eve or go to the movies?? Not really much choice to be made there.

don't expect to see any of this if you are a peaceful high sec miner.

goospebumps

No its not 24/7 action, there are slow moments but the size and scale of the true PVP experience is always worth it! Julius Reed not going to happen. They wont sell out like WoW did
Probably not and i'm all about Star Citizen nowadays anyway.
They fix the graphics problem?
Hmm there plenty of bugs etc. still but its definitely improving allot and they've released a tonne of gameplay stuff.
+Julius Reed , star Citizen won't be out for years. the FPS module was suppose to be out before E3 this year. A lot still needs to be done.

the best is the Bomb run at the end

And if you are once a month lucky enough to find some "bigger battle" it will be more like turn-based spread sheet game with 5FPS and you will either survive or get steamrolled instantly 100 - 0 to the enemy team´s alpha strike. I ended up being either alone with "not much to do" or in corp where we usually spent 3 hours "seeking for PVP" until we all fell asleep and logoff.
Or you could just sit in high sec and gank people.
PVE noobs huh... you mean veteran players in pve carriers? Cause nobody will hunt noobs.
Solomon Gustavas Um, a lot of people hunt noobs. You must be a new EVE player.
You are actually kidding, right? Hunting noobs is actually against the rules. You can follow and stalk anyone else, not noobs.
Solomon Gustavas Lmao, ok buddy. If you say so.
That "YEAHHH!" at the end is pure joy.
The real fun is in null sec and WH space. Grinding missions sucks.
5 year vet here for eve, and I have to say this is the best trailer I have ever seen. Just watching this and experiencing this first hand makes me want to play even more. Come to Null Sec my pretty's. The water's nice! I promise!
holy shit this game looks complicated as fuck. is it easy to learn and will my 7870 handle this game???
its easy to learn - and extremly hard to master.
We're always looking for new People :)

I posted a link on your channel.
Anyways about the graphics problem. I run with an AMD Radeon HD 8670D and I get by pretty easily. There are certain scenes in the game where I might get a FPS drop. But that's about it. And My graphics are 90% maxed out.
"this game looks complicated as fuck"
"is it easy to learn"
It's a sandbox that heavily relies on interaction with other players, both positive and negative. If you're looking for a pure PVE experience I'd say there's much better games out there but if you ARE looking for something to challenge you and force you to think and interact, there's none like it.
It favours people who are capable & willing to put in active effort to learn and improve. It doesn't do hand outs, hand holding or rollercoaster type play style. You're going to fail, get hurt and messed up and then it's about fight or flight; give up or adapt & overcome.
Maximilian Locke That was beautiful.
3:11 THIS is eve, Makes me so happy every god damn time I watch this and hear Tempelmans voice of joy
This makes eve online look really fun and good but the learning curve for eve.... is hard and not fun at all.
Heh sorry you do not enjoy the game but for everyone else, don't spoil ot
callan wilson
I have tryed to play Eve online many times just did not like how the flying in game is . wanted more freedom when it come to flying around and i can do that now as i read there a upcoming patch that adds in wsad keys for moving around .
There was already freedom of movement if you double click in space, just faster to use context commands on landmarks
Yoko Rose
there's actually talk about AWSD controls for flight in the next update. Opt-in Trial thing, if i recall.
Yoko Rose the desire for 'freedom of movement' is often lost once a better understanding of game mechanics is reached. setup your overview in a useful way and learn the game mechanics - they work quite well
It brought tears to my eyes. So many memories! Even if I've only flown with three of the fleets in the video.
I rather deal with spreadsheets for 23 hours and have 1 hour of this.
Than deal with 24 hours of shitty console gaming.
#PCMasterRace
This is the best trailer for anything that ive ever seen!!! You guys have done an amazing job with this
1 thing about this trailer is fake : the action.
if this trailer was any honest_ you would see 3hrs of gate camping
I was there man, I was fucking there, you hear me!!!
*Dramatic re-enactment of spreadsheets may not reflect actual gameplay.
I feel so incredibly pumped every time I watch this. It just makes me want to log in again twice as much.
Virgins in space: The game.
Bravo, I think this just trumped the butterfly effect as my go to vid for introducing buddies to the game.
Once again - epic trailer for a shit game
Very true.
course, only a shit player of a game tends to think it's shit, so what does that say about you?
pendraco2000 Absolutely nothing because it's a silly claim to make. By that logic, being in general exceptionally good at videogames would make one incapable of having negative opinions. If you truly believe a person would consider every game in the world awesome just because he's good at games, then you apparently have the mindset of a small child.
Eve Online is the best game I've ever had the experience of playing.
MrChimeratic *if the fleet
Too bad the game is nothing like in the video.
Yeah for real...
Cybraxas Step 1. Join nullsec corp that's at war
Step 2. Join fleet
Step 3. ???
Step 4. Profit. Or explode. Depends.
Cybraxas Except, it is exactly like the video!
Cybraxas have you ever been in nullsec?
***** Nullsec is terrifying.
Such a great video. So happy I am apart of this game and it's community!
As a player since 2004, this is the BEST interpretation of Eve I've EVER seen! If I was a new player, this trailer would make me join NOW!!! OMG this definitely shows the best part of playing Eve Online! :D
To me, this is probably the best EVE trailer to date (been playing/following EVE since 2006)
I've been playing for little over a year and found the greatest fun in large multiplayer roams like those shown in the videos.
Best Eve Online Trailer to Date! Been Playing since 2009, and it keeps getting better!
To the end of the trailer I literally shed a tear.
Im gonna watch it again!
One of the best game promotional videos ive seen.
Loved it! If someone doesn't know about Eve and isn't sure about trying it this is the video I would show them.
Just had goosebumps again and will have them again and again, I would follow that dude to hell and back.
This video makes me proud to say I'm an EVE player!
This is probably one of the best trailers ive seen for one of the best MMOs Ive ever played. Edge of my seat, huge grin on my face. Amazing seeing some of my favorite UA-cam names in this, congrats guys!
Fly Safe! o7
The spirit and team work captured is great and it can reflect many games :]
This what is called goosebumps galore!
This video still gives me goosebumps.
I will never play this game. But, it and the people who play it, will always continue to fascinate me. Easily the best trailer I have watched all year. Pretty damn impressive for a game I'll never play.
This trailer. Spot on how I feel about Eve!! Quite the art work you guys have created here! Excellent!
A-MA-ZING. Why say more, when this word sums up EVERYTHING else that could be said. Miss you EVE!
Kinda key point.
*****
Oh, and for that FW communication - it actually sounds like three-two guns specops.
*Pshhhh* Got the point, novice beacon
*Pshhh* Roger that, coming in ten au
*Pshhhh*Calling Firetail primary
*Pshhh* He's going out, I need one more web on him
*Pshhhhh* Good job, guys. Now, on the way to the station.
Have been playing this game since Dec 2003 and it's still amazing :)
Very well done. Logging in now!
Great video... nice work... in the heat of battle... yes the game is like this. (10 year EVE vet)
Gorgeous trailer for a game that i have been playing for years on and off. Great job CCP!
I'm not a gamer but this trailer sure is effective. It is like watching a movie trailer
Frack'n awesome. Best Eve "player centric" video since the Dominion trailer. Great work CCP.
The feels!!!!they are REAL!!!!! BEAUTIFUL JUST VERY COMPLICATED BEAUTY
now literally "I was there" XD BEST EVE trailer you guys have ever made \o/
