When America’s queen of hurdles Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone set the 400-meter world-leading time of 48.75 seconds this Olympic Season at the NYC Grand Prix about one month ago, not many track enthusiasts expected this time to be lowered this soon. And even though her closest rival, Dutch sensation Femke Bol tried her best to topple McLaughlin-Levrone in the 400 flat, her effort did bear fruits.
But in a surprising turn of events, Jamaica’s 400 meters champion Nickisha Pryce has left the track community excited with her spectacular performance. At the recently concluded 2024 London Diamond League, Nickisha Pryce just did what we all didn’t expect, dethroning Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone from the helm of the 400 meters this season.

Nickeisha didn't do any thing to Sydney. She just ran her race. Stop trying to start a fake situation. Sydney runs the 400 hurdles her competition is Femke and the women in that event. The flat 400m for women have different competitors who Pryce will compete against.
Just marketing the video though agreed, she didn't do anything to Sydney... who is running a different event. Sort of like saying what Nickisha Pryce JUST DID to Simone Biles or Michael Phelps won't be competing because of Pryce.

Nickeisha always just did her thing. I knew her since she has been running from primary school days and she was a humble soul. So please don’t compare her with Sydney because they both ran their own race.
Miss Pryce raced all season to run world lead 48.57. Sydney did 48.75 in her 1st 400 flat of season. In addition, previous world lead in the 200 at 22.01 in her first race as well. Don't forget, she also ran 100 hurdles before running top 7 times in her first race in past as well. Sydney is an Anomaly.

Sydney isn't even running the 400 in Paris and is only training for the 400 hurdles. If Sydney was actually focused in on and training for the 400, we might be looking at the first sub 48 in nearly 40 years.
The problem with this video is Sydney and Femke are not the queens of the 400m, Paulino is. And this time set herein would have landed her in 3rd in the recent Olympics final.
Do you know the difference between the 400m and 400m hurdles? Two different events. Sydney isn't running that 400m. So Nickisha didn't do anything to Sydney.
don't know that it changes much in pradctice since Sydney is not running the 400 at the games.and her timne was set early in the season. If she runs it after the games, she is likely to go lower than 48.5
That would be an interesting race, the 400 hurdle Olympic champ and the 400 champ at the Zurich Diamond League.
That time was set last month that’s just about 4 to 5 weeks ago. So let’s be realistic.

@@CharmGreen-l2c I would disagree, She dropped ehr 200 PR by over .3 this year, when she ran her 48.74 400 PB last year it was her first year under 50, in 2021 when she ran 12.65 in the hurdles, she improved from 13.34. Those are big improvements fast.
Sydney is not a 400 runner so no one has upset her, keep your eye on the 400 hurdles
