There's been attempts to ban insider trading by members of congress (by placing their investments into blind trusts so they can still trade), but Democrats, led by none other than the master of inside trading, Nancy Pelosi, opposed every measure to restrict it. More Republicans than Democrats have always supported efforts to end insider trading if you look at their voting records.

Schumer has a bill laying on his deck, that the house sent over to the senate May 2023 that he refuses to put on the senate floor for a vote. That bill would close our borders. Biden said he want sign anything that would close the border 100%. So Schumer want put it in the floor.
