Oh yea.. Also ~~ The concept of what a "ceiling" is on a boat is nicely discussed in most of Captain Q's posts with "older" boats for sale on the East Coast. Take a look. Captain Q was there with Randaaay in Annapolis ~ Orange hats and red and green suspenders. They were taking pictures with fans there. (I am still regretting my inability to get there ~ from here in New Hampshire). Maybe you saw Captain Q when you guys visited there? ✨🌸✨
Good call on the winches Ben. I didn't quite grasp just how tiny MP was until we met at the boat show. I gotta say, Yaba is looking absolutely beautiful. Great job you two. And hats off to your amazing team of builders.
Ah! come on Guys! Ha ha! We are so wanting to see her launch, we want to see how the cribs move your beautiful boat into the water You are keeping us in suspense...Hee hee. Come on guy ha! ha ! You Guys are torching us... she looking magnificent! Well done!
I wouldn’t use those kind of fittings, they hold okay in a house but with all the moving around of the boat you will have leaks and might even have a blow out. Plastic isn’t a good long term solution either.
I have to chime-in Ben's craftmanship has been getting better all the time . MP & Ben , you two have done such a great job . You've taken on a huge project with many challeges and managed to work through them one by one with a smile . Yaba's not only going to be strong she's going to a beautiful .
I am probably the 1000th person to say what a Great job the SHIPWRIGHTS do and you and MP have showcased the talents of these Superb Shipwrights I would hope that their Business grows exponentially !! All the Love makes the world go round. What a Beautiful ship Yaba IS.
Hi Ben & MP. I love what you are doing and how hard working you two are. I do have a question. I grew up on the ocean in New England and have had several wooden boats. Back in the 60's and 70's a lot of boat owners got the bright idea to fiberglass wooden boats only to find out that in a couple of years the wood dry rotted and had to be replaced. You are using a lot of fiberglass and epoxy on the Yaba. Are you worried about having a problem with dry rot because the wood cannot breath? I envy the access to hard wood that you have. Purple Heart is my favorite. I look forward to launch date. Mike.
@@evanschwartz3030 Not only would I not use it but it seems a shame to cover up such beautiful hard wood. I have asked this question to Ben and MP a couple of times but they don't answer it.
That is a perfect idea of putting the slates along the bulkhead for a number of reasons airflow being the most important on a boat less chance of mold with the air circulation. 😍
Clara Mullen - Yup, but . . . . IF they are below the water line AND a penetration of the hull occurs in that area THEN they will have great difficulty in quick & reliable 'damage control' . Obviously not a 'likely' occurrance . . . . . but 'sh*t happens' . . . . . I would prefer slats assembled as portable panels to be laid in place with a couple 'restraints' for heavy seas . . . . . just me .
you guys are coming along way on the rebuild. Keep up the magnificent work have a wonderful week ahead. take care and i will see you folks on the next Sunday's video
Great episode! It's all coming around so nicely. Every episode is a showcase of awesome talent available in that boat yard. I always look forward to Sunday mornings so much now. Enjoy the journey...we all are!
I am super excited to see the downstairs rooms come together. That haul of yours will never leak when he is finished chalking LOL some areas 4x's wow. MP your not that short hehehe but I did agree putting the winches lower was a very good idea :)
It is looking great, the only question I have is with as cold as the water is wouldn't putting insulation behind the slats behind the seats have kept keeping the cold out a bit. But it's coming along beautifully. Be safe stay healthy enjoy your week
I can't believe it has been over 2 years already from your introduction on ODD to today it has been an amazing transformation your boat is going to be so beautiful when you finish!! I look forward to watching her splash sometime hopefully in 2023!!!
Ben & MP it's exciting to see the interior coming along well and one thing you mentioned was putting holes in the floorboards for easy lifting when you need to. I recommend that you secure the floorboards in the open areas to stop them flying around if ever you get caught in a knockdown or roll over. It happened to us in a Pacific storm in 1994 and one of our crew suffered a back injury when a floorboard hit him. Also, the plumbing fittings you were going to get from NZ would have been the John Guest snap fit system. This is manufactured in the UK - you may find it might be quicker to deal direct with the manufacturer if your Brazilian system does not work out.
19:06 I hope the backrests against the two bulkheads will be hinged so the room behind them can be used to store maps and other flat objects like manuals, flags, decorations and a tv maybe, sliding up from behind the couch??
Going to get your tickets to man and navigate? the boat curious when are the plans to plash ? amazing the work you all have done have watched this day one ,all the best for2023 from Vung Tau Vietnam
Old trick to shiny up stainless steel: wipe it with that liquid Old English wood furniture polish. We did that all the time in my days helping manage a custom stainless steel manufacturing firm. It might be known out there but, at the time, it was new for me anyway. Our master welder taught me that one.
@@richardhobbs7107 Quite true. I can see things falling between the slats from storage and going to the land of lost things. They do look nice though. It's a shame to cover them up.
Wow. It's really coming along guys... It won't be long before it's back on the water... It's been a long journey... The guys at that yard are SO talented. And you guys have learned SO MUCH along the way. You will literally know your boat inside and out...
I’m liking all the furniture build out, but I’m really excited about the plumbing and electric. I’ve done a fair bit of both, and I was a commercial electronics/2-way communication installer/technician for almost a decade. Fun times ahead
I would have added angle support like a triangle under the stainless steel to help keep them level and makes them 10x stronger. The load of a winch is much more than they seem. I also agree Ben is getting way better from the experience he has gotten over the last couple years.
the quick connect shark bite fittings are very safe once installed correctly, and even if you find the odd leak or the plastic getting brittle over time you can solve the issue in minutes....good approach to have all wiring and plumming easily accessible.
Wow ! You are making very good progress in all areas and it all looks beautiful especially the varnished parts. I look forward to each weeks vlog to see how well you are doing. Keep well and safe. James.
I am certain that you need more support for the seats. The bottom and back parts are in need of more support because those wooden battens will not hold up through time. Between dropping things, people falling onto them, and what ever else beats them up.
Another week another satisfying episode. Thanks a bunch again: each week I look forward to the next episode. It's very satisfying seeing your furniture take shape, so I imagine that you two are really happy as it's literally taking shape each day. I'll be interested to see the settee finished and the size of access holes you get on the bench bottoms and backs. Keep up the good work, see you next week. Cheers from Canada
You're making such progress on the interior! Love seeing the support of @spearitanimal. Fun to see how you are contributing to the awareness of other upcoming UA-cam channel like the one with Raff and Sasha.
Thank you for letting me watch the birth of a legend.

BLOOD Sweat and Tears..... you have it all
My favourite channel,I have been offline for a few months and it's great to see you all again. Good progress too. Can't be long before a splash date.
Thank you so much! Welcome back!
Looking awesome Team Yaba !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good call on the winches Ben. I didn't quite grasp just how tiny MP was until we met at the boat show. I gotta say, Yaba is looking absolutely beautiful. Great job you two. And hats off to your amazing team of builders.
Thank you! Was great meeting you, hopefully we can meet in Annapolis this year again! Hope the guitar building is going well
Good things come in small packages 4ft 11.5" this end m8!

You are. really figuring out the boat interior configuration well!
I can't believe how far y'all have come!!!!!!!
Getting there! 😃
Watched since you had Ducca and Roberta over for dinner, and were still pumping water. Fantastic job.
Those slats on a boat are, I believe, called ceilings. Looking grand. 🇨🇦
You mentioned my country, nice. 😃

No doubt. He’s going to be able to take care of things for himself later on.

Nice goin, your crew are doing a real good job. Pleased as this end! Thanks m8s, keep up the good work!
At 10:02; I'm surprises there's no gusset for that extra level of support for such an important, and what sounds like a stress laden purpose. ;-)
the two of you have grown so much in knowledge as your boat grows into something you can be proud of well done guys
Those slats look great and condensed moisture still can escape.
Tak!
Thank you so much for your support Jens!!!
Wonderful video entertainment ❤😊
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! 🤗
Thanks!
Thank you so much Michael!!
Can't wait to sée you guys sail
Same! 😍
cant wait till the boat get some paint
Wow that is enough room to put a bed behind the sofa! lots of storage on your boat.
She becomes more beautiful every week. She will be an amazing craft.
Looks to me like you can launch soon, finish out in the water! Makes getting on and off easier.
Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
Thank YOU for watching!!

In some ways this was the most exciting episode yet. I can really see your vision for the interior and it looks bloody marvellous. Best from the UK.

Good old snake bite connectors!
Great progress on The yacht. Many changes now make more comfort and ease later down the “road” or rhode.
slats look nice but won't dust and dirt fall behind them and then be difficult to clean?
Yaba is comming togheter so nice.... you guy's must be so happy .... and i am happy for you!!...
greetsz from friesland...max.....😉😁😘
Thank you so much Max! You’re the best!!
I hope in the future you all do a cost breakdown of this project.

the slats look great, they also let you see if any water is coming in past the planking.
Great update 2x👍
DC Allan - but restrict access to water entry 'damage control' should a hull penetration occur . . . . .
@@richardhobbs7107 yes but if the waters coming in bad you can just smash the slate with a good kick.

Putting mp on high heels is far cheaper to solve your winch problem. Win/ win I would say.
I keep thinking I'd have done all of the electrical and plumbing before the interior, but I'm sure you have a plan. Excited for you guys
Continued progress!! As always, thanks for taking us along on your journey.
It’s coming together! Super excited to see her all done

Its looking soooooooo good guys! Home stretch!
Fabric mesh could be installed beneath the slats to prevent small objects becoming irretrievably lost.

That's awesome news!! Thank you Phil!
